Yeah its fine for most people. Just not cheap b650 or a620 boards (it should have solid heatsinks on the mosfet/vrm/chipset). It is a myth that you "need" the most expensive motherboard chipset if you just want to run your hardware at stock and play games. If you overclock, definitely go the top motherboard chipset model or if you have the money. But don't ever cut back on the cpu/graphics card/power supply just to get a ~$300 more expensive motherboard.

Because it would have meant cutting back on the cpu and graphics card and thats a dumb way to spend your money if you're on a budget. This isnt a pre built PC that I am lile listing for sale, its a custom build designed based on the customers budget. Don't worry, if you're a motherboaed enthusiast I have 2 builds with the $1300 ROG crosshair x870.

I've had lots of people question me about using a b650 and 9800x3d, I say its fine and theres only a tiny difference between the gaming performance between the b650 and x670/x870, but some people still aren't convinced. I'm assuming you've had a good experience with no issues with your hardware?

No. There is no significant bottleneck. You can see this in the benchmarks. a bottleneck would mean that the GPU usage wont ever get to 99-100%. So PCs I build are for real people, it's not a prebuilt I am putting up for sale. When you are working with a specific budget you have to make sacrifices and there is no way that I would cut back on either for 4080 super or 9800x3d for the sake of buying a more expensive motherboard.. If I did that, I would be giving my customers less FPS for their $$. For example cutting back to 4070ti super would be about a 20% decline. Any bottleneck from a b650 board would be 1% or less so you'd sacrifice that in a heartbeat.

I never had any issues with 9800x3d not posting, but it will depend how recently your motherboard was manufactured. I only purchase stock once a customer has paid for their order so everything I buy is typically new and running a fairly recent BIOS. If you buy from a smaller retailer, they may be carrying stock from 18 months ago so if threes any doubt, ask the retailer to update the BIOS for you, they may do this for free (They would in Australia anyway)

Customers get what they want. If their budget isn't high enough, the motherboard is an obvious item to save money on without sacrificing any significant performance for an ordinary user. The x600 and x800 chipsets are designed for people who overclock. For the average person, they wont notice any difference. You just want a high end b650 like in the build, not a cheap with with small heatsinks Downgrading to a 4070 ti super or a Ryzen 7700x to get a X870 board would be giving them less performance for their $.

You can see the results of heaven/valley/superposition in the video. Fps is not a PC spec, every game runs at different fps depending on resolution and quality settings.

Yeah but it will try and make do with minimal ram utilisation. By specifying the UMA you lock in a certain amount of RAM for the GPU to utilise. FYI 4gb is about all you want with a 5600g or 85/8600g, beyond that it's redundant with a iGPU.

This is only for igpus. If you have a graphics card with actual vram, you can't adjust it.
