it was 1981, i was driving across the hay plain in outback NSW. playing budge and UFO. picked up a load of hitch hikers, 2 or whom were swiss. as soon as breadfan came on they got very excited. "This is budge, very big in switzerland!" 7 people in an overloaded kombi and the police just looked the other way. Good times

I finally figured out what makes them unique. At least to me. They're heavy sounding, but with remarkable warmth. It always seems like the bands that try to be heavy end up sounding cold; whether intentionally or not.

This is just a rifftastic overload😊 Unfortunately they didn't quite make the big time.. Perhaps a little too inconsistent.. But you can't deny their attempts to bring us some of the best British Metal. I think Bandolier is their best album.

Budgie has been my favourite band since 1974 and till now. Their music have been a great influence in my life.
