Thanks
Excellent run! No extreme speeds, you (mostly) stayed in your lane, and you was "safe" about your riding. That's not a good road to push your personal limits, and you stayed well within your limits. Good for you! Good job!
OOPS! It looks like I had already seen your other video, and forgot that I had already commented. Oh well!🤷♂
why super glue? it looks already very tight.
✨🔥🤟BADASS BRO✨🔥🤟
i also wana fly like this ::)
Hell yeah ride your ride brother be safe 😎
I’ll try! It’s such a great road!
tcs lif lv1?? or off??
Lif lvl 1, I usually keep it on 1.
Be careful using LIF 1 like that. There’s a small chance it won’t kick on. I suggest learning how to do wheelies for real.
Maybe slow down?
Why on earth would I do that? 🤣
Is that product number all you need? I've read elsewhere you need another wire adaptor thing as well
The grips are all you need. They are a direct fit.
@@motorcycleconnoisseur4936 great. Thank you for that!
i just tried to buy these grips in Ohio & at first Yamaha said they couldn't get them, even though I've seen videos out of Europe & i had the part #....Then they texted me back & said they found the part but couldn't get the connecting wire & had NO idea when they could....so i bought a pair from Koso, they should be at my house in a few days....they also have the controller in the grip....that's what i want.....& it has 5 settings....
nice work! i will install them on my bike MT03 soon. thanks for your help!
what tail bag is that matey?
A Kriega US-10
meh
Ah, the perfect youtube short... terrible shit music, useless shit camera angle, not at all what the title says, obviously stolen content.
Are you using a silicone based grease or oil based? What is best for hot, wet Florida weather?
I used Super Lube synthetic grease. I would stick with some the dielectric and something that is relatively safe around rubber. Which super lube is pretty good about both.
To cool.i love to do them
Hey man I just recently bought my Mt - 09 and this might be noob question but how do you have your front break lever so close to your throttle like that?
Well, I guess it doesn’t seem that close to me. What makes you think it’s close? I can pull it as hard as I want with two fingers and it not contact my two fingers behind it. Does it feel too close on your bike? Or?
@@motorcycleconnoisseur4936 nah it feels a bit distant from my reach in time for me to brake in between turns so I can't really stay on the throttle while I have my fingers out the way you do and brake at the same time.
Ah, I gotcha… I have relatively large hands, so I can reach the lever easy. But it takes some practice to be smooth. Take the time to adjust the angle of your levers too. You’ll be less prone to giving it gas and brake at the same time.
@@motorcycleconnoisseur4936 my hands aren't too small either, but I guess a little adjustment is necessary thanks for your input.
Thanks for the great video. Previous bike and Oxford grips needed a run of electrical tape on the bars left side grip to stop heat dissipation to the metal in bars, is this not necessary with these grips??? Does all the heat come through to your hands? Thanks
I haven’t noticed that being an issue with these. The grips seem to get equally hot. I’m not sure a layer of electrical tape would even fit between the bar and these grips. So I’m gonna guess say that’s not an issue with these. Thanks for watching!
so im told they wont work on the SP is this true?
They require slight modification to slow for the roll forward turn off function of the cruise control. There is a great article on FZ09.org about modifying them to work with an SP.
@@motorcycleconnoisseur4936 i cant find it can you find the actually full link> i installed and they work but not the roll forward option
www.fz09.org/threads/2021-sp-careful-about-the-oem-grip-heater-b7n-829a0-00-00-installation-howto.69354/ Here ya go bud! Hope it helps!
please send me the link for the grips
Hey! They best way I can tell you to find them is just to copy and paste the part number I’ve provided in the description into eBay. There are currently a couple of people selling them on there. You could check with your local Yamaha dealer to see if they can get them as well. But mine came from eBay.
i tried & no luck so i bought the Koso heated grips....check them out....they're even better...
@@stevegaines-vq3bd link?
For note what i did with my MT09 SP 2021 you can just buy €60 grips with heated function with seperate controller. and only connect the grips to te bike. throw the controller away. than you also get the function in your display. on the gen 3 mt09🔥 instead of overprice yamaha grips. what you need to modify for the SP models😂 then you dont have garanty annymore😂
That is about the limit of "safe" riding. I couldn't help but notice your line choices are very similar to mine. A twist of the wrist?
I agree… You can only go so fast up there and maintain any sort of safety margin. And no, I haven’t read twist of the wrist yet. Read Total Control, and done the online Champ U coarse so far.
@@motorcycleconnoisseur4936 The "twist of a wrist" is on youtube for free.
Yep.....even a squid can do those on the new mt09 with the lift control!
that ain no wheelie
Gotta start somewhere
Nice video. You answered the question I had which was "where are those connectors in the head unit" I purchased the Oxford aftermarket kit and if you hook them to those ports, you can control them just like the OEM heaters. I wish Yamaha sold their grip heaters here and for a reasonable amount of money. I would have paid a little extra for the "plug and play" convenience of the OEM grips. But $300 is alot of extra to pay compared to $80 for the Oxfords.
I knew that was possible… I looked into it, but couldn’t get the replacement Oxford grips, they seemed to be unavailable. And I didn’t want to buy a whole functional kit for twice the price just to slice them up. Haha, glad to hear you’re getting it figured out though! I’ve really been enjoying mine and how seamlessly they are incorporated.
😂😂😂😂 i did the same thing done for €60,- the bike only needs a spoil to show the function. the control unit is already in the bike😂 because i needed to buy stock mt09 heated grips. moddify it for the SP.... (reverse throttle) than no garanty annymore and expensive overpriced grips😂😂
Can I have the link to the plugs you have used please?
What year is your bike? I have also looking for heated grips. Mines a 2021 and looking for a plug in and play for mine. Do you know how long it took to ship and the price?

Good video, doesnt seem overcomplicated and dont have to use that stupid grip glue which I hate haha, I might get the heated grips for my own
Nope, not bad at all. You do have to glue the left grip. But I just used a thick CA glue.
Ajshsidjjwlldodkhhd😱👍👍👍💌💟💟😎😎😎
Can you also please list the name of the grease used along with the name of the glue used as well?
The grease used was Super Lube synthetic grease, and the glue used was Stick Fast Thick CA Adhesive. Both are available on Amazon.
@@motorcycleconnoisseur4936 Thank you sir :-)
You sir are the best
👍👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎
Great video well done 👍 now I want to get them for our short Canadian riding season
I think they are well worth the money. I believe another viewer mentioned that you all can get them from your local dealer in Canada. So that’ll make them more affordable probably!
Just received my heated grips. I got the grip glue from the dealer, the guy told me to insert the grip 2/3 rds of the way, then apply the grip glue,as it sets really quickly.do you need to apply glue only to the left side or throttle side also ? Can’t wait to install them.
Yep, only the left side. Since the right side comes on it’s own throttle tube, no need for glue on that side.
Thank you very much
Hey! I THINK saw your MT parked by one of the turns next to your trailer. You probably seen my 21 SP out there before as well. Didnt get the chance to talk to you tho lol
How to you like these so far? I am on the fence about ordering them.
To me, they’re worth every penny. They are so nicely integrated into bikes controls, they get nice and hot, and they’re easy to install, and they’re the same dimensions as the original grips so my Kaoko throttle lock still works. They’re great! I certainly wouldn’t spend money on something aftermarket, when these are so nice. You’d love them, if you can stomach the price.
@@motorcycleconnoisseur4936 Great! I appreciate the review and I just ordered a set. What Kaoko throttle lock are you using since they technically don't have one for it yet? I saw on a forum the one for the r1 works? FYI if you wanted to change the description, for us U.S. folks, they are available in Canada starting Jan 12, 2022. I live in Ohio and ordered them from a motorcycle dealer in London, Ontario. Shipped to my house for 294.50 CAN. (233 US)
Glad to hear they’re becoming more available! I am using the Yam500 Kaoko. You might’ve seen my post on fz09.org about it. The only thing I had to do was use a little thicker washer than they supplied. The friction nut wouldn’t back all the way off. I’ll try and do a video about it soon.
@@motorcycleconnoisseur4936 Oh hey! That was you haha. Cool! My father in law has one on his z900rs and I really liked it.
@@motorcycleconnoisseur4936 did you end up using the thicker or thinner thrust washer
Mt 09 sp? Or standard mt 09
This is a standard 2021 MT09. But the process should be the same on the SP.
You are truly awesome my friend. Have a Merry Christmas! 🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍😃
Glad you enjoyed the video! Merry Christmas to you too!
I’ve got the SP and I haven’t seen the grips yet. What’s the part number and where did you order from?
Hi! I think you’ll find all the info you’re looking for the in description. Thanks for watching!
you need to modify it for the SP. for the reverse turning for the cruise controll. if you modify it your garanty is gone. you also can boy cheap heated grips. cut the stock from the Tube. and install the grip on the tube. connect it on your bike. Your bike only needs to see a spoil to work €60 fix💪🏻💪🏻
Very sloppy design honestly. Every time you turn the throttle the wire moves? That’s very tacky. Triumph routes their wires thru the bars, much neater design. Sweet bike though.
The wire does move a little with every twist if the throttle, yes. Honestly I haven't messed with too many bikes with heated grips, so all the ones I’ve seen are a similar setup. Sounds like triumph may have gotten it right though!
