Hi Matthew! I had that harp for a while, and I was kind of sad to let it go honestly, but my particular harp had a decent enough sound, I'd compare it to a Stoney End Brittany harp, only it sounded a little bit more muffled and less resonant than the Brittany, and also the Robinson levers needed to be regulated. I know that he's not making harps anymore and has not for a long time, so you can only find them second hand, were you able to find one? Every harp is different, even ones of the same model, and All harps take a while to break in and have the sound mature, so you just never know from one to the next how it will play right away and then years from now, and also they might need a string change/cleaning and a regulation. I would totally recommend a Stoney End Brittany harp, I love mine, and it too took a while for the full sound to come in. But the Cherub harp was a nice little harp,😄. There are different string charts for different ranges on that Celestial Winds harp, you can find them on file over at North Shore Strings, I might have it still too and can send it if you need one, my harp went down to low G below middle C.

Aw, thanks Jack! What kind of harp did you find? Love the little 22's, and this one sings for itself! I usually start my arrangements on a smaller harp anyway because it forces me to do things that I wouldn't probably come up with if I had more range available, some of the tricks I do are what's called coupling, I didn't even know it was called that, I just thought of it as hands within hands, some people have asked me is that a double strung, I'm like nope, you don't need a double strung to do that, it's perfectly easy to do with a single plane harp; the other tricks you can do are to bounce octaves, put the melody in the bottom rather than the top, use harmonics when you run out of notes!, retune certain registers of the harp if you need more chromatics and/or preset/flip levers if you even use levers which might require the little game of implying notes without actually playing them, and then if/when going to go to the bigger harps you'll have all that figured out, and then can expand from there if you decide to, although sometimes I don't, I just play the same arrangement on any old harp, maybe an extra octave up top who knows. I tend to rotate harps, so I'll go off with one for a while, and then I'll go round for another, so now I'm back to this one! Sounds even better than before <3

Hi Connie! I need to check in on you, was thinking of you just a few hours ago not even almost, somebody had suggested for the people that were hit with hurricane Helene to get those little solar lights at the dollar store and to deliver them to people without power, and I thought of the little lights that you sent to me! I know there's a trick if you put the light underneath or above on top of a giant gallon of water in a clear or opaque container, that it will disperse the light more brightly around the place you're trying to light up, so anyway, you were in my thoughts earlier this evening :-) glad you like Eleanor Plunkett what a name right :-). With a name like that you kind of have to play it :-) I hope you will noodle me that tune, how's your concertina? I need to check in with you again <3

I'm glad you liked it, it was really a one shot deal, my friend in Colorado made a request for me to learn and play the song as it's her favorite lullaby, and so I tuned up one of her favorite harps that she hears me play, and figured out a key that would work in that range from several and chose this one tuned in F, and I had the melody written out on the back of a giant envelope, I usually play by memory, and I did after a couple takes, and just used the harmony that I like, there's an arrangement out there which had that opening and closing, I don't know if that's an original by Stephen Foster or if that was something added on, but anyway that was the first time I've ever really played the song was the same that I recorded it! It was completely off the cuff, there is no sheet music other than the lead sheet that I ended up not even using after I learned the song quickly, so I don't have anything written down that I played, although I could sit there and write it down and make a score from that arrangement that I play, I've done that plenty because I have perfect pitch and I can transcribe what I hear either externally and or in my head. I just never really feel the need to write things down because I just remember them after a while, and nobody else plays my arrangements that I'm aware of, so I just don't need to write them down, but if I ever do, I will certainly remember that you wrote and were interested, and I'm very grateful that you like the song and you can thank Holly for the request :-) I never would have played it if she hadn't asked me to do it, but it is a nice little song isn't it :-)

If I ever play it again, I might put the melody in the bass and chords above and around at some point, just an afterthought

I know!!! It was a FB messenger notification that I thought with the volume down was turned off, but I kept going, and somehow it kinda works ;). It's like a spontaneous concerto for phone ringy-dingy or the Surprise Symphony... Surprise!
