VW bug fender trim/ gravel guards quick install

Here I show how a trailer hitch is installed. Per the VW manuals, a bug can tow up to an 800lb trailer without brakes. A trailer with brakes is little more, maybe 950? You can find such info on the Samba. I plan to tow no more than 500lb or so.

Here I show how to wire your bug up to a trailer harness so your trailer lights work in conjunction with your tail lights.

Here I show the finished product of the installation of an external oil cooler on my 1971 Super beetle in prep for an upcoming long road trip hauling a trailer.

Part 3 of my prep for my Roadtrip from LA to Idaho Here I go over how I will route my external oil cooler hoses. I will in the near future install a thermostat at the oil filter which will control when the additional oil coiling is needed as you may not need it when it is cold. When oil is too cold, it is thicker and will not efficiently lubricate your engine

So I have pulled the engine in hopes of finding the cause of a hot running engine. I did not find anything immediately alarming so we will continue the plan to clean up and install ALL the stock tins.

This is heater cable replacement on a 1971 Super beetle. I did not mention in the video that you must be aware the longer of the two cables inserts into the BOTTOM tube. Hope this helps!
