Incredible Hornshow! NBSR 6404 Leads 121 Along The Nerepis River With A Great Crew On Board!
Today I went out to shoot some NBSR action again, as I had heard there would be a pretty awesome crew on today. They gave one of the best hornshows I have ever received! The train throttling up, and going by at good speed was just a great bonus!
NBSR 121 has a monstruous train in tow today, with about 145 cars behind NBSR SD70M-2's 6404-640606413-GMTX GP38-3's 2639-3051 with a great variety of mixed freight including lumber, tanks, boxes, containers, autoracks, woodchip empties and an insanely awesome crew, lots of horn action, and bags of candy thrown out to all the foamers track side today!

This is a video I shot of CPKC 101 making way through Canmore AB. I was lucky to catch this train as I was walking downtown for breakfast with the scanner, heard them call the clear signal, and I headed trackside. I did not record CPKC 200 as it was pretty well all tanks, and had the least favorable lashup to see, in my opinion. After catching this train earlier in Lake Louise, the fast moving CPKC intermodal train almost beats me to Banff close to 30 miles away from Lake Louise. I'd say that is normal! I have seen trains going much slower than that. I like watching trains working hard up the grade. The slowest one I have seen was 0.5 miles per hour on CP rail with one SD9043AC with only one truck under power. It had 110 cars. This was back in October 2012 at my cabin in Ingolf on the Ontario/Manitoba border, CP Keewatin sub.
