This channel is all about travel, nomadic lifestyle, backpacking, and seeking new experiences. I've traveled to 40+ countries in 9 years while mostly working overseas. As a former yacht stewardess and fitness instructor working in over 10 countries I've had my fair share of ups and downs. This is my platform to share all the good, bad and ugly with you so you can get a better idea of what this nomadic lifestyle is all about. I must say I wouldn't trade this lifestyle for ANYTHING else, I absolutely love it!

Hello thanks , you come to in ha giang loop 😁😁I’m wworking in ha giang toi
It was the best experience in my life! Glad to hear you're working around there :) What do you do?
enjoyed-what a incredible .
Happy you enjoyed! Do you also only travel with a carry on? :)
Great tips! Thank you.
Happy to hear that you found my tips valuable! Do you normally fly with on carry-on as well? :)
Ofc I love too travel
Yes it's amazing isn't it? :) What's your favorite destination?
Natural fibres naturally shrink in the first wash. Fine for sewists like me who prewash fabrics before we sew our garments; whereas ready to wear garments you buy, factories don’t have this luxury. Size up when buying cottons, linens, viscoses. But also, linen that has shrunk, wear anyway because linen tends to loosen (or relax) throughout the day.
Hey Rebecca! That's very valuable advice :) It's happened to me so often so will definitely take on your tips. It's so sad when something you really enjoy wearing shrinks, but I'll fir sure keep on wearing them and hope that they'll loosen up a little bit :) Do you have any advice on what's the best way to wash new items for the first time to avoid this? :)
@@madeleineaabo the last time I bought ready to wear linen pants, they shrunk. Now I sew my own clothes, it’s not an issue because we pre-wash fabric. Any shrinkage happens in the first wash. However because you asked so nicely, I googled how to prevent linen from shrinking. It says linen will shrink 4% in the first wash - hence my suggestion to size up. However there was also a lot of advice suggesting hot water and hot air shrinks linen more, it’s preferred to wash in cold or luke warm wash cycles, and preferred to air dry on a hanger, or on the lowest heat setting in a clothes dryer. Linen is Devine to wear, it’s so light and breezy, weightless on the body. It also grows throughout the day, so what may start as tight, could end up loose throughout the day. To note, Viscose and cottons also shrink, being natural fibres. Same advice as linen. Polyester blends don’t shrink… but some of us don’t like the feel of polyester… mileage may vary, personal preference.
Nhìn mọi người leo núi mệt thở buồn cười 😂
Haha yes we're not used to it! I was amazed by how fit all of you guys are, truly incredible! Do you hike a lot?
I like using a lightweight dry sack that can fill with water/detergent to do my laundry, put the sac on ground rock w foot for minutes than hang dry with some paracord that pack. I find it easier & better than using a sink plus can use the sac for keeping clothes dry when packing like would with a cube if want to dual purpose yet it’s like 90grams. Looking to get a merino polo shirt as I like to look good as a guy yet omg last holiday ironed shirts every time was time consuming! Hoping the linen blend one like to pack for Thailand will dewrinkle or look cool cuz over ironing on vacation lol. I’m going to practice as have months before though aim is to have 20l pack so can use as personal item as probably take a plane there from North to south. Your trip adventures sounds fab! Your accent is great! Canadian guy saying hello 👋🏽 Like watching others as great way to learn so thanks for sharing ✌🏽
That's a really good way to do your laundry and also nice to stay out of the sink! I used mine as a cooling bag for the beach but never thought of using it for laundry, will definitely do it next time :) Yes that is never fun to spend time on during your trip... Hopefully the linen blend works out better for you. My tip is to hang it outside or in the bathroom for a little bit so the humidity can help decrease it slightly :) You'll manage!! Only bring what you really need, and when you think about it, it's most often less than we think. Where will you be heading? Glad to have you here on my small channel :)
Must be nice sleeping around with the whole crew!
Bali for the win
Is Bali your favorite? I would say Thailand is mine :)
18 and can touch her heel to her forehead, hmmmmm, I'm pretty sure i lack some of the qualifications they were clearly looking for
No no one should do that job.
Step 1 be a attractive 18 year old girl. Step 2 follow step 1😂
Just because she 18 and a woman
Oh wow, a cute young 18-year-old and got a job on a yacht with no experience wow 😂 you know the world is different for men and women right
I'll take you up on your bluff. Take estrogen if you think it's so easy, coward.
Nope, no, never.
Yachting is not for everyone 😊
What’s the craziest thing you’ve seen on a yacht?
If you haven’t been before then saying you have would probably just out you
It might do, but I always do some research before and that has helped me come across that I actually know more and have been there before. What would you say instead? :)
its really sad that we have to lie in order to feel safe
Yes it truly is.. But we have to find a way to stay safe so we can continue to explore the world! Do you travel solo as well? How do you go about it?
The worst and tourist trap tour. Ha Giang has far better tours companies. That just the tourist trap route
Yeah you see this group in so many videos. Definitely a quantity over quality thing. I plan on doing the Ha Giang Loop later this year but I'll just do it on my own.
Oh you think so? Which route would you recommend? Any other tour companies that is better and that you suggest going with? :)
I saw many people doing it on their own but I found going through a tour company you got to meet so many amazing people, they took care of the logistic and I had a really good experience :) Have you been to Vietnam before and kinda know you way around there? :)
@@madeleineaabo You're correct that you will meet more people by using a tour company. I feel like I am fairly familiar with the country now. Late last year I motorbiked with a friend from HCMC-Hanoi over three weeks. I loved it so much I'm going back again in November for about two months. Some friends will be joining me for parts but it looks like most of it I'll be solo. If you ever decide to do a route through the country, let me know and I can share some pins I dropped for some good swimming spots along the route. Edit: I should note that my comment above wasn't meant to imply anything inherently wrong with choosing a tour. They're just not for me. I prefer making my own schedule. As far as routes go, I'd recommend the ones from Tigit Motorbikes. I followed their guide Las time and it was great. If you haven't seen it yet, go travel the Ho Chi Minh Road. It's the best driving in the country, imo.
Amazing video! Could you pls make a video of all the hostels you stayed? ❤
Absolutely! Which country is most relevant? I went to Indonesia (Bali), Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand :)
As much as I like white, white clothing is a big no no for me. Especially if you are backpacking.
Yes unfortunately.. They get dirty so easily :( What color is your to-go-to?
Good tips stay safe ❤
Glad you enjoyed! Do you also travel solo?
Good Tipps indeed 😊
Glad to hear you found it valuable! Do you also travel solo? :)
Good advice, stay safe out there!
Happy you found it valuable! Are you also a solo traveler? :)
What's it like joining one of these tours in your thirties? It seems most of them tend to cater more towards gap-year students, which seems quite an age gap.
I'm still in my late twenties and I really enjoyed it! Some of the people in my group were older and some younger so it was a good mix. I think many people are intimidated to do these kind of trips and it's been known to be more for "younger people" but during my travels I realised it's not like that anymore. So many people travel at all ages and there is always something for everyone :) Do you find age being a problem or holding you back from going on trips like this?
Great video about Ha Giang loop. thank you so much for sharing all of your expriend. also thank you so much for coming also. 5 year ago, Ha Giang have nothing, with no custommer, no traveler, no work to do, ... everyone supper poor. but now more people come back and do the work in Ha Giang, they come back from Bình Dương, Hồ Chí Minh city, Hà Nội .... someone come back from China also.
It was truly amazing being there!! It's very nice to hear that Ha Giang province is starting to flourish and more work is created :) Will be back soon! What other adventures would you recommend around that area?
I am a driver
That's amazing :D For which company?
Can you get me a job driving?
You made it. I just had to skip Ha Giang due to bad weather. I hope next trip will have a change to do this loop.
Yes unfortunately weather gets in the way sometimes... You should definitely go back! Do you have plans on going back to Vietnam?

I am Vietnamese 🇻🇳 What are you nationality? Are you love Vietnam ? I hope you have an idea how much you enjoy traveling in Vietnam the most in the world
I would love for you to weigh the things you wish you hadn’t brought! Would be cool to see how much lighter your bag could have been
That’s a great idea! I weighted everything before I left so it would have been around 3kg of things I actually didn’t need or used that was extra in my bag 🙈🥲 my final weight on the flight home was 12kg so could have travelled with less than 10kg if I packed better 🫣
@@madeleineaabo Wow, I think that means 25% of the weight of your bag was not used!
during the cost of living crisis? havin a laugh.
Hi Madie. I have so many questions😅! I have booked Hanoi in August specifically for Ha Giang Loop. 1) how did u get from airport to Ha Giang? Do u recommend that instead of staying a night in the Old Quarter? 2) as a solo female and in my 50’s, would I feel out of place? Can’t seem to find any vlogs or blogs re: my age demographic doing the loop. Can’t help but think if I’m way over my head sometimes. 3) I like to pack light (7kilos, no checked in bags). What essential pcs of clothing shd I bring? 4) i heard mixed reviews about Jasmine i.e, groups too big, so-so food, etc. Any other small local agency I shd look at? Happy to have watched ur ha giang vlogs. Thanks for reading this.
Hi there 👋🏼 So happy you’re going on this experience, you’ll have a great time! 1) I took a cab to Hanoi old quarters and the best way it to order one or Uber or grab since you’ll know the price, normally the cabs outside will be overpriced. If you book it with a tour company they normally offer transportation to ha Giang from Hanoi for a small price. 2) the demographic is slightly younger but I think any people at any age can and should go! It will be a bit of drinking and social time plus you’ll be sharing bigger dorms with everyone, but you’ll have a good time and get to know your group very well. 3) make sure to check the weather but bring something slightly warmer and maybe a few lighter tops/bottoms so you can layer your clothes and also take off if the weather is warmer. I would bring a wind & rain proof jacked, warmer shirt, long pants, shorts, T-shirt and a top. Also bring something you’ll be comfortable to wear at night and for dinner etc. 4) I loved going with Jasmine hostel and had a great time so they are the ones I would recommend. Buffalo hostel also offers but think it’s even more of a party vibe with them. Not sure about other small local agencies but do a google research and check reviews to find the best option for you. Let me know if you have any other questions ☺️ hope you’ll have a fantastic time!!
Great Channel, I like this video. Go for it!
Glad to have you here and that you enjoyed the video 😃
Jätteintressant! Ett förslag är att skippa bakgrundsmusiken, den gör det svårare att höra (åtminstone för "tanter"😆)
Tack för feedbacken ska tänka på det! Glad att du gillade videon 😊
I am Vietnamese 🇻🇳 What are you nationality? Are you love Vietnam ? I hope you have an idea how much you enjoy traveling in Vietnam the most in the world
which camera did you use to film please ?
I just used my iPhone 15 for this video ☺️
@@madeleineaabo and did you use any mic ? for the sound. thanks xx
First time i saw her cry, i new she was dramma Same as mary when they were building the vegas homes. Those two deserve eachother. Good for those who left.
25 to 30 is quite expensive 😅.
It’s cheaper than flight tickets and you get both transportation and “accommodation” in one so I would say it’s reasonable. It’s not the cheapest but it’s the best way to travel on a budget if you still want to be comfortable 😊
Superrrrrrrrrr Duperrrrrrrrrr
1 bag is max 7 to 10 kg now and carry on is this max on most airlimes 1 bag. Except B Airways
Yes depending on the airline that you choose there will be different weight allowance. Even with a carry on flight ticket you will in most cases have one carry on size bag and a personal item included. I've flown with both budget and more expensive airlines during my backpacking journey and was alright in all cases :) But of course it always depends!
Thx for pined me i have good things in philippines
Yes the Philippines is beautiful!
Superrrrr duperrrrr
Wowwwww
