Thank you very much for uploading this video. Please share more of his videos.
Thank you : )
Lyapunov/Kentner make a tremendous duo. Had to look up some of the references. E.g. Térek is a major river in the Northern Caucasus that flows through Georgia and Russia into the Caspian Sea. Lezghinka (also spelled Lezginka) is a traditional dance originating from the Caucasus region, particularly among the Lezgin people..
I haven’t heard this specific version in years…. Lots of unique details as always. Pretty cool how some Faure kind of harmonies crept in by the 1978, makes sense given that he added some Faure into his rep by then.
im so happy to you upload horowitz restore video works one after another 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
It is very interesting and fun to notice the differences between his own versions of this lovely 'Carmen' encore - as performed in various recorded recitals throughout his long career ❤ Tremendous job with the recording 👏
Thanks! There is a pretty good copy available now from Sony in Japan on Blu-ray this is upscaled from. The other releases are poor in that series, but this one is a big improvement.
thats sick man
Whoa this actually looks great… and he’s on fire in that cadenza. My favorite Horowitz rec of this still the 1944 Rodzinski broadcast
Thanks! Figuring out video stuff has been challenging but fun.
Incredible!
awesome! I'm rooting for you both HS and redacted. i think no winners who maded better results, but i hope you're proud of yourself for gave us more path of choose. thank you for sharing high quality remaster works with everyone ps im wating for full HQ video of 1968 horowitz TV recitals, but it doesn't matter how much time it takes! just do your best
I love his version of this!
@@1fattyfatman totally agree, now i have three restore works of this. what a luxurious!
Bravo to Horowitz, Mehta and the orchestra, and to you! 👏
Thanks! It took forever to flex and fit but the audio is the official remaster from the live series. Original tape audio was heavily compressed. This makes a huge difference IMHO.
What a Giant!!!!what a touch!!!what a sound!!!thank you so much!

Could you do the same with the other compositions that Arrau performs in this film ("Liebestraum" and "un sospiro")?😉
From the Miami piano festival. Thanks!
nice restoring
Its true. Arrau played done piece at incredible speed. But this 12 is not only fadt is also perfectly musical
Impressive
I adore Guiomar Novaes' fresh, light and simple interpretation of this Valse!

his 1938 version of this tune is very close to my heart
Its such a beautiful piece. Where does this 1972 Kentner recording come from? Commercial release?
Yes, from the Turnadot LP
I heard him live in 1977 (when he was 72) playing Liszt Hungarian rhapsodies. Patrician elegance style and flashes of brilliance, though sadly a fair few slips and misfits too. I could only imagine how he must have sounded 20 years before!
You can hear what all the Horowitz fuss was about! Is there a recording of Dohnanyi playing it? He was a seriously gifted technician.
Sorry … verglichen mit anderen Aufnahmen ist der Klang mal abgesehen von einem gut intonierten Steinway sehr uninteressant … die Phrasierung etwas steif ..
This is, by far, the best interpretation of this sonata I've listened to... (with my apologies to Richter, whose interpretations are far above all else, as well. He and Cziffra were, for me, the only ones who played truly well Lizst's works. Only them got the sheer energy and devilish speed needed to do so). This is otherwordly; it's not from this world... For me, this is as close as it gets to listening to Liszt himself.
The one and only Cziffra
Es kann nicht besser sein!!!
The best!!!!!!!?
My goodness ❤❤!!
Thank you for this otherwordly performance,in a spectacular recorded sound!!!
Wonderful! Any chance you could restore/clean up Michelangeli's interpretation of L'Isle Joyeuse? (ruclips.net/video/zgvRr_djB3o/видео.html ; ruclips.net/video/dIapP0cP5Vk/видео.html)
I tried in the past without luck. Sadly not enough musical info survived when I cleaned away noise. Still an interesting artifact though!
Ah, I see... Thank you for your response!
.....una dolcezza interpretativa infinita e senza posa. Trasmetterla così non è da tutti! 👏👏
I came across a video on RUclips many years back from this recording session it appeared with Brendel playing the Dante Sonata and talking about the program notes? Do you have that video as well? If so, please post, as I can no longer find it on YT. 🙏🏼
I may have this. I’ll take a look.
This is the fastest version I've ever heard. Arrau played faster when music required to be played faster. Listen to his op 10 n1 or some Schumann recordings
Bravo!!!!!! Grande Richter
Very beautiful interpretation and clear sound. Unbelievable control.😱 Thank you for sharing this great record.
Topaz has issues with text. The Steinway & Sons logo looks wonky at times.
