I learned this from Phil Davis (former UFC fighter Penn State wrestler). Phil has really cool funky wrestling to study that carries over to Jiu Jitsu. Highly suggest searching him up, or stopping by his gym in San Diego where he teaches every day at 9am, Azteca Boxing Club San Diego
Rolling Mount Escape Part 1(Damian Maia Mount Escape)
Просмотров 6 тыс.8 месяцев назад
I have been working with MMA fighters recently over at NE Cartel. One of the escapes that's super high percentage is the Damian Maia mount escape. (I've seen Oliver Taza and Garry Tonon use this as well in submission grappling competitions). We talked about how our mount escape differ when he's upright versus down and holding us with grips. Attacking from Single Leg X
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.Год назад
August 8th, 2023: 5pm Gi All Levels Class We covered escaping from bottom half chest to chest into single leg x (Ashi Garami) and we tied in attacks with the previous lessons we have been working on. When teaching an all levels class, we start with the most basic moves and try to build complexity as the class progresses so both lower belts and higher belts can have good takeaways. Why criss cross ashi is prefered option ?
very nice....hopefully I can add this to my game.
Thank you for this! Where is Part 2? (Inquiring minds need to know)
yep asking myself the same 🥲
This is elite content.
hey its drew! haha :D
Can't see what's happening towards the end of the video
That cradle is great
What is the advantage of the inside outside ashi?
Inside sankaku is not cross ashi!!!
This is 🔥 🔥 🔥.
This is fantastic. Thank you!
Outstanding Professor great to see you both thriving over there. Will have to come visit for a lapel guard refresher one of these days 😎
Rolls and Doggos
Thank you this is very helpful
The nice thing too is now we actually can turn towards the inside.
Use a cameraman that isn’t dying of asphyxiation. We have I listen to that to watch your instructional.
This is solid, slight little changes for myself. Personally I knee lever easily in gi, not so much in no gi, so that’s 1st one is clutch!! I also I’ve that the drag and 2 on 1 are options for when 1st one fails. Realistic sequences are what’s needed, appreciate this 👍🏽
Only people that drill and grapple will appreciate and understand this. Someone who has never grappled before will have zero idea of how many gems are in this video
Most underrated jiujitsu channel on RUclips bar none. For whatever reason this Guys teaching style meshes with How I learn

did this guy eat Placido?
Very nice Reuben.
I bel8eve IBJJF now allows brown and black belts to turn inside for footlocks.
yes but this was filmed before the rule change!
Excellent!
Nice
This is classic folk style wrestling and I 100% agree with your technique here. If you can get that wrist, you’re in good shape. If you can’t, the battle is harder, but this is the end result that you want. Nice job
100% folk style! Got to train with him San Diego couple weeks ago. Craig jones has a similar follow up when you can't get wrist control. I think he calls it a hip sit! Phil was saying he loves giving people the first hook and purposely letting them get longer and deeper with it. Found it a really dope concept had to share! Thanks for the comment coach breza, love your content!
@@southbostonbjj4767 yeah the key is to get that inside elbow between you and him. If the wrist not available, then you have to do a few things to shake them to one side-there are different schools of thought on this. I am not a big fan of teaching people to sit out, because then you don’t have the power of your legs. When someone sits out on me, I am using the power half to control them to where I can switch to the RNC. If they belly down, I will do the same thing. So, I would rather maintain my base and get the hell out of there. I use a number of ways, but sit outs for me were always a risky position against good leg riders. In wrestling, you got a crossface from hell coming your way…sometimes I will use that to set up a variation of a bulldog choke if they try to get to their own back. Just depends on what I am feeling. Thanks brother. Take care

I love it. Thanks for posting and would love to see more footage and content from the fight camp.
Took him 9 minutes to get to the move boring 😴
Hey bro. Greetings from Knoxville. Great video.
Outstanding! Love this! Would love to see any other techniques available from this position. You got a definite sub from me 😊

All the danaher guys feel it’s necessary to give a freaking vocabulary and history lesson along with each technique. It’s like having Neil de grasse Tyson teach you how to kill someone 😂
Love it
Great teacher. He should do lessons with John Danaher.
looks like gordans inst lol good work

Hey this was great, really like this idea of breaking down sequences from matches like this
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Awesome ❤🎉
I was the guy Luka did it to the other night 😂
Very nice and detailed breakdown, I loved the nelson backtake! Thanks for the content man, would be awesome to see more breakdowns from you
Nice work, was just analyzing this match. Arm drag off the weave, heelhook off the legdrag/hip and knee post defense, high step pass using a hand grip instead of a shoulder post, back take in response to the KOB counter. 4 big things I took away from the match.
Awesome breakdown. So many crucial split-second battles.
this is great thanks man. small details I didnt know.
