Hello, thank you for your video! Could we please have your dosa recipe? Specifically, I'd like to know the amount of grains and the quantity of water needed for the first fermentation outside the fridge, as well as the amount of milk for the second fermentation in the fridge. Also, could you let me know how many days the first fermentation should last and how many days the second fermentation in the fridge should last? Thank you in advance, and I apologize-my English isn't very good, so I had difficulty understanding the voice in the video.

If your going to keep the kefir yogurt that you do not heat it will continue to ferment. Pasteurizing ( heating ) stops the fermenting. Am I right ? That’s why I keep mine in the portion sizes I want in my freezer.

I make kefir yogurt without heat. After the Whey is on bottom of jar I drain it out and leave the kefir to continue to drip the watery whey out. I’d say about 3 days. Then I whip it up and smooth it and put it in 1/2 cup jars and put those on a prepared shelf in my freezer. On this shelf I also have 6 to 8 oz drinking type jars with smoothie kefir in those with my honey , fruit, mixed in my ninja as a smoothie. Now I’m making kefir cheese to put on my kefir freezer shelf and kefir ricotta also, kefir sour cream, kefir buttermilk. Love that. Kefir ice cream. I’m open to others recipes also. I made over night oats with kefir milk with fruit in it or preserves ( sugar free) I need this in the freezer because it will continue to ferment in fridge. I get something out to thaw every night before bed. Great stuff.

Can Kefir grains be kept in a glass tea infuser and then the tea infuser be kept upside down in the bigger glass jar into which milk will be poured? This way the Kefir grains will stay inside the tea infuser and we won't need to strain the Kefir grains, which can be quite difficult sometimes. I speculate that if the whey separates out from the curd solids, the grains will stay at the bottom inside the whey water which will make separating out the grains even easier. My only concern is that since the Kefir grains are not spread out throughout the milk, the fermentation might not happen properly.

@CaroleGreenhalgh Chia seeds offer numerous health benefits: They are rich in fiber, protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and various micronutrients, including calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus. Chia seeds contain antioxidants that help protect the body from oxidative stress and inflammation. The high fiber content aids in digestion and promotes regular bowel movements. The fiber and protein in chia seeds can help keep you feeling full, reducing overall calorie intake. Omega-3 fatty acids in chia seeds support cardiovascular health by reducing inflammation and lowering cholesterol levels. Chia seeds can help stabilize blood sugar levels, reducing spikes after meals. Rich in calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus, chia seeds contribute to maintaining strong bones. @jayrobertson1689 next option is plastic strainers, which I definitely prefer not to use. Research has shown that plastics can contaminate water from various sources such as pipes, packaging, and single-use items like cups and dishes. Studies have found that when these plastic products come into contact with water, especially when heated, they can release trillions of microscopic plastic particles into the water. For example, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) discovered that hot beverages in single-use plastic cups can lead to significant release of nanoparticles into the water [[❞]](www.nist.gov/news-events/news/2022/04/nist-study-shows-everyday-plastic-products-release-trillions-microscopic) [[❞]](www.mdpi.com/2304-8158/13/10/1564). Additionally, the thermal degradation of plastic pipes, often exacerbated by events like wildfires, can lead to the leaching of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into drinking water. This includes carcinogens such as benzene, which poses significant health risks [[❞]](pubs.rsc.org/en/content/articlelanding/2021/ew/d0ew00836b). The adverse health effects of plastic contamination are well-documented. Chemicals from plastics, such as bisphenol A (BPA) and phthalates, can disrupt the endocrine system, leading to developmental and reproductive issues in both boys and girls. This includes reduced sperm counts and smaller genital size in boys, and earlier onset of puberty in girls [[❞]](ecologycenter.org/factsheets/adverse-health-effects-of-plastics/). For more detailed information, you can refer to the following sources: 1. I have suffered from chronic sinusitis for about 4 years and no doctor, even my ENT, has been able to help me. Interestingly, they never suggested baking soda, but when I googled it, I see many reputable health institutions do recommend this for those that suffer from frequent sinus issues. I just tried it and will do it regularly for a while to see if my sinuses get better!

It can prevent side effects of sinusitis, such as heart disease, as well. chronic sinusitis can potentially affect heart health. Persistent inflammation and infection from sinusitis can lead to systemic inflammation, which may contribute to cardiovascular issues over time. However, this connection is complex and typically seen in cases of severe or untreated sinusitis. @LifeXperienc 2 месяца назад

@froggylegspeople great experience! Yes, you can freeze kefir grains. Here’s how: Gently rinse the kefir grains with non-chlorinated water to remove any milk residue. Pat the grains dry with a clean paper towel. Removing excess moisture helps prevent ice crystals from forming, which can damage the grains. Place the dried kefir grains in a clean, airtight container or a freezer bag. You can also add a small amount of powdered milk to the container to help protect the grains. Seal the container or bag tightly and place it in the freezer. Label the container with the date so you know how long they've been stored. When you’re ready to use the grains, thaw them gradually in the refrigerator. Once thawed, place the grains in fresh milk and let them sit at room temperature to reactivate. It may take a few batches before they return to their full activity level. Frozen kefir grains can be stored for several months. After thawing, they may need a couple of fermentation cycles to regain their strength and probiotic activity fully.
