The Small Engine Mechanic
США
Добавлен 12 окт 2022
I possess a natural gift for repairing anything that crosses my path. It pains me deeply to hear stories of individuals being taken advantage of by small engine shops. Whether it's a lawnmower or a snow thrower, these essential tools often fail us at the most inconvenient times - just before a snowstorm or when the grass is growing uncontrollably. Aware of our desperation, mechanics exploit the situation, charging exorbitant fees just under the cost of a new machine.

Discover the Secret to Finding Leaks in Small Engines!
My carburetor was badly corroded so I replaced it. Actually twice. All jets are clear and clean , properly installed. The replacement carb has a mixture scew where the original had a plug. The machine fires well on brake cleaner but refuses to run on gas. Gas is fresh 91 octane pure gasoline. I replaced the fuel tank, cut-off, added a fuel filter, lines and carb. What can my problem be ? I have set the mixture screw open 1-1/2 turns and varied it up to 3 turns with no results. This one has me baffled. Help if you can. Thanks
Thank you!! I couldn't find any videos of where the springs hook to. Nothing specific, anyway. I have a gx 120. Thanks again. Very helpful.
great video...what liquid can i use to clean carb...?
No everybody have ability to teach, you are one of the best teaching people in youtube. Thanks
Excelent teacher.
Thank you SO much, for making this video! 😊❤
Thank you for the video was very informative. My problem is I could get the carburetor off if I took it apart I wouldn't be able to go back together again.... LOL
Thank you!
This video shot is absolutely terrible. Couldn’t make out what the heck you were doing. Absolutely terrible!!
Found a neglected generator took it apart wondering how to put throttle return spring back i noticed it was completely off both ends
Thank you so much!! After hurricane Milton, thank to you, I have a working generator. Highly appreciate!!!
There is a spring on the accelerator rod that is un hooked. It was when you started working on it. It keeps the rod from falling out of it;s hole. If you look close at the engine side of the rod. it is flopping there. I had to do my carb about a week ago. That is why I spotted it.
Thank you for this video. Was having a carb issue most likely from the ethanol in the gas I was using. This video helped me take the carb apart and clean it so I could get this generator running again. Appreciate all the visuals and the time you take explaining. Great video. And also thank you for your service and sacrifices
Very well done. Thank you! 🖖😎👍
Excellent video. Pulled my generator out preparing for Hurricane Helena. I didn't work. Found your video and followed your steps. Got it running great. Now crossing my fingers hoping I won't need it. Thanks for the video
...this is exactly what I need to do to my Predator 4000....your video will be of great help....thanks for posting... 🙂
Hi there. Great video, and since it's soon going to be winter, I'm going to get my drive cable replaced ... as soon as I find a new drive cable. Can you tell me where I can find one? My blower is Craftsman, but I cannot find "drive cable" listed on the parts list in my user manual. Any clue how I can find out the part number, and then find the part too? Thanks so much in advance for your help!
Only problem I have is…….I don’t own an Ultra Sonic Cleaning machine.
Thank you for the tutorial. This worked like a charm for me. Once I pulled out the carburetor, it was exactly like yours. Could not see through the jets. I did buy an ultrasonic cleaner, but had to run sewing bobby pins through the jet to clear it out. Once reassembled, it took only one pull to start it. I decided to let then entire tank a fuel run through it rather than stopping the engine and letting old fuel gum up the carb again.
What is a good budget friendly ultrasonic cleaner and solution to buy/user? I'm running into the same issue, and would like to repeat this tutorial, but I do not own an ultrasonic cleaner
These are really good machine and tuff 😊 just need to service it regularly and change air filter
Im E110 is backfiring though the carb. would the cam cause this. i did everything else i can think of
NOW IN 🇺🇸, ITS LIKE MADE IN CHINA AND CHARGE LIKE MADE IN 🇩🇪 20 YEARS AGO WAS A BIG DIFFERENT
Thanks Brotha 👌🏻
Good pump on them and that’s what matters 😮
what can you suggest for overload light on when nothing is connected to the generator
Very well done! Thanks!
Very good video. Well done and VERY useful. Thank you
Thank you brother this is a life saver
Thanks man it worked ...yall just get yalls fingers dirty and it will fire up correctly
What is the part number on those fuel shut off pliers? They look super useful.
Thank you for the video!
My issue is it squirts water from everywhere but the nozzle
If you have little to no pressure would it be the unloader valve that is sticking? It was sitting not being used for 4 years or better
How similar is the GCV 200? I have a badly bent crankshaft in a 200.
What’s the part number on that shaft?
why don't you clean the mower before working on it....geeshhh
I think that was a good advise video too bad about the computer generated voice. Or maybe you don't speak English and want more of a English speaking audience.
Perhaps he is not able to speak or has a speech at the impediment? I don't mind the voice for the ideas
I buy amazon carbs lol. They usually work and cost 1 qtr the price of oem.
So its dust in the carburator?
You put the dirt on the functioning carb yourself.
He probably did What an idiot, getting his own carb dirty by using whatever it is mounted to
This is awesome
Thank you!
Strap something that vibrates to your crockpot, like a 1/4 sheet palm sander. Let it do the mechanical agitation to scrub your carb parts clean! (the ghetto ultrasound hack)
Thank you soo much for the tip! Theoretically this can be scaled up right? So using a oven at 130⁰c and a heat proof container inside it filled with water and degreaser with bigger parts.
@oliverhelle6043 I don't see why it couldn't. Just need to watch for boiling. As long as you keep it under 100 Celsius, it won't boil, but it will evaporate quickly. On my ultrasonic, I keep it at 50 C.
Great idea , how much simple green did you use
@@gjohnston281 about ½ a cup.
I have a L111 with a steering issue. The steering shaft is frozen and will not turn. I took it apart a still will not turn. It seems like the center bushing is froze. Ever hear of that?
Very informative thanks for sharing 👍
This was a tough one to video! Good job on the pulley shots
Excellent step by step instructions
Thanks for this. I have the same model and cleaned the carb twice and still wouldn’t start. Your video showed how me how to take the main jet out and when I did, it was plugged solid. Got it started after clearing the jet. Question though. The motor hunts for RPM. It did this before too. The throttle goes back and forth until I am actually spaying water or loading the engine. Any ideas why?
