You can definitely learn (anybody can). Some of the best players I've ever seen started this game very recently (in the Covid era) and they easily kick my veteran ass.

I'm such a sucker for videos with nonsensical questions in the title.

I still struggle to even grasp the terminology fighting game fans use when discussing fighting game concepts, let alone actually being good at a game. SF 3rd Strike has always been such a cool game to watch, especially at the top levels, but it's still too daunting to try playing for myself. I wish I had someone to sit down with me & go over the concepts one at a time, show me how they're done, and explain why they matter. I used to be really good at UMK3 & MK Trilogy, but then I went a decade without caring about fgs. Then Killer Instinct came along & suddenly I wanted to get back into it. Oh well, at least I can still watch cool videos like this! 😅

Looks wise as well I feel its not just the technical aspects with so many frames of animation(15K wasnt it?) but that I feel Capcom were at the peak of their powers in the mid/late 90's(Dark Stalkers also stands out). The importance of SF2 has made the characters iconic but honestly I felt quite a few of them were rather generic were as SF3 mostly abandoned the "ethnic cliché" design style and focused more on interesting ideas and character.

Can you learn it in 2024? But you need to forget everything you learned from SF4+

I think part of the popularity of 3rd strike is it represents a bit of a mid point between "old" and "new" Streetfighter, it still has more of the speed and neutral focus if the latter SF2 games or the Alpha games but it also introduces more of a punish heavy style were countering an opponent with a big combo becomes much more important as in SF 4/5/6.

What do u play 3s on? Im a long term fighting game fan but 3s was not popular in the uk so I never played it until the fighting collection . Anyway I’m also a beginer on psn

Fun way to learn is just play single player on the Dreamcast version. You'll unlock characters over time and so you'll be forced to play around the roster.

i can say with a certainty that you definitely can with the amount of resources that people are providing for mvc2 but for sure getting into a competitive standpoint quickly is just so frustrating nowadays because of the amount of infinites there are lol

last year i wanted to learn mvc2 and 3, but then i i got lazy and just stopped. Thanks to this video, im gonna get into it again and feel more motivated to play again. I think this video taught me something that i've been missing, to not take it too serious at first and have some fun. love these types of videos. and would love one for umk3 or mkt. Just like you said, i've played them before too. Especially trilogy on n64. I i've been lowkey thinking about playing it at a higher level

The answer is yes. I run the game (PS3 ver.) as part of game club in the high school I work out of. The kids were born in the range of 2006-2010, and they love this game. We have tournaments on Wednesdays. This game is, still, holding it's own. Glad to see it making a mini-resurgence in 2024.
