I grew up in the 60s and 70s , spending lazy summer holidays at a family friends place at Stanmore bay. Left NZ in 1984, went back in 2017 and drove up to Whangaparoa and Stanmore bay, hardly new the place it had changed so much, not so many of the cheap family holiday homes any more.
