Edsel Ford got lost in the shadow of his famous father, but in reality, he was very much responsible for the success of the FORD Motor Company. Henry often gets credit for Edsel's innovations and policies. He is sadly not recognised very much at all, however a book called The Arsenal of Democracy does a good job of telling how he, and not Henry, was responsible for the company manufacturing B24 Liberators for the war effort.

Henry Ford was a mechanical savant. But he was terribly lacking in education and intelligence. Henry knew his son was far more educated and intelligent, so he needed to continually demean/dominate him to maintain his dominance as the head of the company. Henry was once a very happy person who unfortunately allowed others to take control of him and the company. A very sad story.

The Edsel Ford home in Grosse Point is a must see. Many homes of the wealthy and influential are ostentatious and almost foreboding. Edsel and Eleanor wanted their home to be cozy, comfortable, and inviting, to be lived in and enjoyed. Though cozy the house is quite large without appearing so. Thank you Eleanor Ford for preserving your wonderful home for others to enjoy.

Cancer by all accounts, but his mental health was screwed up by the abuse he took from his Father, Henry Ford I. Ford senior liked to paint himself as a simple farm boy made good, to the general public, but behind closed doors, he was a complete tyrant and Edsel bore the brunt of his outbursts - he really treated him like shit ! His mother should have been a calmning influence on her husbands outbursts, but this was obviously not the case, so in my eyes, she's every bit as culpable as Henry himself

@@wildestcowboy2668 There is sufficient evidence to determine Henry Ford did more for the benefit of humanity than any other single human being ever mentioned in human history and I'm saying that as an Australian who has spent a lifetime working with General Motors products... locally built Holdens. I love my Holdens, but I've studied Henry Ford & I am absolutely certain: He was a giant among men who transformed the lives of literally billions of people by offering them reliable & affordable practical private transport. No one ever came near achieving what Henry achieved in just one lifetime. I admit I am not a devoted fan of the product. However I certainly recognise the staggering achievements of the man. Henry Ford was indeed a truly great man.

@@ebonylady Please don't be taken in by the brainwashing garbage dumped on Heny Ford. Henry spent much of his life fending off globalist parasites who relentlessly tried every rotten trick in the dirty book to take control of the profitable & staggering facilities Henry built. Edsel was raised fit & healthy by his father & given highly paid positions in management within the firm. The very same globalist scum who'd been trying to get their claws into Henry's empire lured Edsel away & filled his head with garbage. They constantly hauled him off to ritzyarse events & tried to get the firm by coercing Edsel. At some point, some arsehole brought Edsel into contact with a fierce carcinogen which gave him cancer & ruined his good health, drastically shortening his life. So, ask yourself: Just exactly what pack of greedy cunning parasites would want to cruel Henry by causing his beloved son to wither & die? Edsel was destroyed by a group of venomous snakes hellbent on taking his father's fabulous business. Henry was no fool. He knew what went on. If you want to learn who caused Edsel to die so young & as punishment to Henry for resisting their endless attempts at taking his life's work, you only need look up the names of the shareholders of the Ford Motor Company NOW & see what they list as their religion. Henry tried to protect his business AND he tried to shield his son from these vicious parasites. The parasites won in the end & Henry had to look on as his son deteriorated & died. There are always two sides to every story. Henry had a huge battle on his hands. Those who came at him & lost, took away his son. The evidence is there for those of us who know what to look for & where to look. Henry only wanted the very best for his son Edsel. It's a world full of danger & danger got at Edsel. Cancer is caused by carcinogens. Henry used asbestos in clutches & brakes long before Edsel was even born, yet Edsel died well before his father... How did Edsel end up with terminal cancer? Who hated Henry for not handing his empire over to them? Who wanted to punish Henry? A pack of predatory parasites, that's who. Those parasites also spin a lot of lies as THEY play the victim.

@@wildestcowboy2668 - His father was flat out abusive towards his son and employed thugs to run his factories. When Henry II took over, he had to clean house of the goons like Harry Bennet that his grandfather had working for him. Also, Henry Ford held extremely anti Jewish beliefs that were freely published in the company newspaper. By "well paid," I assume you8 are referring to the famous "$5 per day" wages. But they came with strings attached. Company reps could enter an employee's home and check for things Henry forbid like alcohol. Henry Ford was a brilliant but flawed individual.

It's amazing that a crabby, despicable, and mean spirited man like Henry Ford helped give birth to such an AMAZING man like Edsel. Henry hated the Jewish population. Receiving a high honor from Hitler. Henry cheated on his wife with a company secretary. Got her pregnant, paid a Ford assembly line worker to marry her. Was a bastard to his great and lovely son Edsel. And through it all. Edsel is the favorite Ford of that generation. So are Edsel's children and wife Eleanor, along with his mother Clara. Henry Ford was a total asshole. Hoping he enjoys Hell. The same kind of emotional hell Henry inflicted on his family, especially Edsel.
