I left after 5 minutes. The other parents just sat there as the speaker told them if they wanted their kid to push for excellence that this school wasn't for them. I 💩 you not.

GREAT SCHOOL!

I nearly transferred here from my original college (Hampshire) which was back east. Loved Reed’s campus. It’s very pretty. And the academics were on par with the likes of Amherst, Vassar or Sarah Lawrence (however like Hampshire. Reed is narrative evaluation based) the major difference being that Reed also records a letter grade in addition to the eval, Hampshire does not. Reed REALLY reminded me of a west coast version of Sarah Lawrence actually. Right down to it's location and the campus architecture. Interestingly, Reed is the only college I've ever applied to twice, once as an undergraduate, and then a second time as a transfer student.

The claims of Aberdeen and Robert Gordon Universities (both in Aberdeen) are misleading in the extreme. These are not properly run "universities" but mismanaged, perverted so-called "universities" of the United Kingdom which attack academic freedom, crush the civil liberties and violate the legal human rights of students and former students, hiring lawyers to gag any criticism of their mismanagement, to hush up whistle-blowers even to the point of having whistle-blowers arrested and jailed for contempt of court when whistle-blowers won't shut up when we are ordered by the court so to do. Aberdeen deserves properly managed universities but we won't get that I believe until such time as Aberdeen's universities are taken into administration by the Scottish government and the wrong-doing of the years and decades past investigated and the current and previous mismanagement, their lawyers and the courts who have allowed mismanagement all held to account. In the early 1990s, I was a post-graduate science student at Aberdeen University who was denied by management an opportunity to resit my exam, denied opportunities to air my complaints about mismanagement at public meetings on and off campus, excluded from the campus and denied even my civil liberties and my legal human rights to freedom of expression and my right not to be discriminated against - all denied by the lawyers for the university mismanagement taking me to court to get unjust and illegal court orders to violate my rights, with threats that I would be arrested and imprisoned for contempt of court if I did not just shut up about the whole affair. The rights of whistle-blowers and other citizens to speak out, to publish in a free and democratic society have for decades been under threat from Aberdeen University mismanagement, their lawyers and their puppet unjust courts, who have been able to pull the strings of the state to hush up complaints about university mismanagement and wrong-doing. The name for enemies of a free and democratic society is "fascists" and what I have suffered in Aberdeen these decades since the early 1990s is the UK royalist, fascist police state running amok regardless of the people's legal rights. The abusive officers get away with this because there is no helpful head of state, no elected president of a republic, to hold account those abusive officers of the state who abuse their position to crush democracy, to subjugate innocent citizens like me in a cruel and unjust manner, ruining careers yes but also ruining lives. Certainly Aberdeen University should be taken into administration by the Scottish government but in addition we do need to step back and take a long hard look with what is wrong with our country. The solution, in my opinion, is that we need to overthrow, by peaceful and democratic means, the monarchy to establish a Scottish republic wherein the people can elect a president as head of state.

Mt. Holyoke really had the MOST BEAUTIFUL of all the campuses (I thought so, at least). I used to love to go and study in the Library there, because I love Gothic architecture, and the library there was always blissfully quiet. Unlike the Hampshire library, which could get noisy, unless you were all the way upstairs.
