    More matches from the S and S+ ranks! These are from the brief period of time I was using this palette. It was the closest palette I could make in game to what I wanted for my Carmine's color. It wasn't ideal for me though so I had to take some extra steps to actually make the perfect color palette! The next match video will show it off so hopefully it'll look cool! (´∀`)

    The third collection of Carmine combos that all build a bar without needing to have Vorpal. On average, three blood moves must be used in order to build a bar. Under the 1.10 update (Uzuki update), metered moves now do less damage. As a result, the damage of the combos will not be has high as before. Volume 4 of my combo collections is confirmed! I will be releasing that one sometime next week. I would like to do a fifth and final volume but might actually be out of combos after the fourth one lol. If you'd like to see one however, please let me know though so I can try to find even more!

    Some matches from the S and S+ ranks! I still find it troublesome to find opponents of specific ranks so the next couple of replay videos might just be a mix of S and S+ opponents. I'm still aiming for S+1 rank which I think might be obtainable for me! I'm also considering trying to go for 2 million rip for the special border it unlocks although that may actually be really challenging and a huge grind lol (´∀`)

    You’re the only guy I can find who makes content about carmine. Please continue doing what you do it’s helping me learn a ton. Been really struggling with timing my bomb releases and meaties after 22C and 2C Enders. Any tips for that?

    • @KuronoOki
      @KuronoOki Месяц назад

      It's good to hear that the vids I put out are helpful! I plan on uploading content for other fgs eventually, but the near future is still gonna be all Carmine content! If you're trying to do a meaty pinwheel, you generally wanna throw it out right when the opponent's body is fully down on the ground. This is so that you get the most amount of hits from it and recover fast enough to be able to block a reversal if you think the opponent is gonna throw one out. It can be okay to throw it out a bit earlier than that despite possibly losing a hit of it, but you don't want to throw it out any later than that since you will get hit by reversals in that case. Depending on the combo, you can also try doing 2C > 2Aw > pinwheel since it perfectly times the meaty pinwheel for you so that you get all the hits and recover in time. If you're trying to do a meaty normal, the timing just depends on what normal you're doing. For instance, meaty 5A/2A is done right when the opponent's feet touches the ground after they recover since that's when they're no longer invul. For a meaty 5B though, you can do it a bit earlier than that point since it's more active than 5A/2A. As for bomb release timings, it depends on what you're trying to do with them. If you're trying to make gapless strings, you'll just have to practice releasing them right before the gaps. In general though, if you press the button of the bomb you're holding, it will always directly connect and be gapless. This means if you're holding an A bomb and release it to immediately press 5A/2A, the bomb will always hit right after the A normal and the same goes for B normals. If you're trying to do bomb shimmies, you generally just let go of the bomb at the same time you backdash. Bombs are super flexible so the key to them is just getting comfortable holding them down while pressing other buttons and practicing their release timings at specific set ups.

      Unless you can get the kill, it's always better to set up with bombs after a 22C. Doing 623B three times while they're stuck in the 22C does the most damage though if you just want to do extra damage.

    Hey, new to UNI2. I'm struggling with the execution and defensive play of this game when compared to SF3. Any tips you can offer? I play Merkava and I have a leverless hitbox if that information helps.

    • @KuronoOki
      @KuronoOki 2 месяца назад

      In terms of execution, one thing I can point out is that UNI's input buffer window is very generous compared to other games like third strike. If you're having trouble getting things like special moves or dash attacks to come out or connect, try inputting the motions during the last frames of the previous moves. You may notice that you can input things much earlier than you might think and still have the moves come out. Since you play on hitbox, you could try changing your SOCD mode to also help with execution. I also play on leverless and would suggest changing the SOCD to up priority if you don't already have that on. It works and feels much better for most games in my opinion and would probably help your execution in terms of doing things like TKs. On that note of TKs, definitely do them by using your right thumb as splitting the motion between the two hands makes doing them much more consistent. The game does have a pretty lenient input reader that was made even easier in this game so practicing and getting a better feel of it would be the only other thing I can suggest from a general sense. In terms of defense, UNI is has a ton of defensive options and rewards good defense more than any other game. General defensive mechanics include guard thrust, veil off, chain shift, creeping edge and shielding. Guard thrust is basically an alpha counter/dead angle, veil off is not a burst but is a get off me tool, chain shift is a screen freeze that lets you take your turn back, creeping edge is a dodge roll, and shielding is like a push block that gives GRD. The game also has multiple defensive OSes that you can learn and that aren't difficult to do. When it comes to defense in UNI, you can think of it in this way: blocking/shielding -> gives you GRD -> getting more GRD wins you the cycle -> winning the cycle give you access to chain shift -> chain shift lets you take your turn back and gives you meter to use metered invul reversals. To start utilizing chain shift, get into the habit of using it whenever you've won the cycle just to get the meter it gives you. Once you've gotten into the habit of using the mechanic, aim to start using it on defense. You can use it immediately after you wake up from a knock down to punish things like meaties or jump ins with invul reversals and to also similarly punish gaps in opponents pressure. Shielding is great and very important since it gives a lot more GRD than just blocking but is not risk free as you can get GRD broken from a bad shield. In a broad sense, getting comfortable with just blocking in general is a very strong trait to have in UNI as the game can reward you for playing defensively and being patient. I only know how to play Carmine so I can't give really give tips about Merkava. I would definitely suggest checking out SeaLeafDojo's channel though if you haven't already. He's a Merk player and has a lot of Merk combo guides and general UNI guides covering things I mentioned like shielding and OSes. I hopes this helps!

    A collection of Carmine combos that all build a bar without needing to have Vorpal. On average, three blood moves must be used in order to build a bar. I have recently been obsessed with finding combos that that build a bar without Vorpal so I decided to compile the ones I've found so far into a collection! I have aimed to find routes that are the most health/GRD efficient and, for that reason, have tried to avoid using FF/66FF in routes where possible. I think it'd be cool to have a combo that builds a bar from every starter (if that's possible lol)! Credit to commenter @Zechal for letting me know about using 6BB as an ender for extra meter in the 5A starter combo (there's definitely some other routes I've found where that allows for a bar to be built)! Let me know if you have any combos that also build a bar without Vorpal so that I might include them in future volumes!

      If you're new to Carmine or just want to get into playing some matches with him, I would recommend to learn this combo first if you can. This combo and one of the corner carry BNBs from my other video would be two solid combos to start off with since you could reliably go into them from a lot of starters. The missions have some good combos but some of the higher difficulty ones might be too hard to do if you're new to the character. Learning this BNB first might make some of them easier to do since some parts of it like TK j.6B are important parts of his combo routes. ^_^

    Love your vids. Started with Byakuya but once I saw your carmine vids and realising he wasn't that hard I went from hard stuck B4* to S3 after swapping. A few ideas that could aid your channel. A carmine video featuring resets, frame traps and mix in general. A compilation of BNBs and combos covering the most effective routes or separating the combos into Beginner/Advanced. A guide to neutral and most important aspects of his game. That alone would separate you from the other channels and have yours as the spot to learn Carmine. Keep it up you've aided many. Thank you

      Thanks for all the ideas! Figuring out what other kinds of guides/content to make has actually been something I've been having trouble with so I really appreciate the suggestions! Although I main the character and feel like I have a solid grasp on his gameplay, I don't consider myself an expert on Carmine. Most of my content has been centered on beginner and intermediate aspects of his gameplay as I don't feel qualified to talk about his more advanced/optimal/nuanced stuff. I have yet to learn a lot of that stuff myself. That said, I'll see what I can come up with in terms of the ideas you suggested. ^_^ At the moment however, I've been working on a beginner prank guide. I also plan on doing a compilation of BNB combos that build a bar from different starters as finding combos that build a bar without Vorpal and are GRD/health efficient has been something I've been obsessed with recently lol. Hopefully these upcoming videos are also of help!

I previously could not get the 66C at the end of the route to connect as the opponent seemed to always fall out at that spot. It turns out that it is actually possible to get it to connect and also extend the route to build a bar however! It's just REALLY TIGHT to connect and hard to get consistently. Also, the 22C at the end must be done immediately after the second hit of the 214B or else the opponent will recover there. It's also possible to end with 6BB instead of 214B for an extra 3 damage and 2% meter but at an additional health cost lol

  • @KuronoOki

    Demonstrations of different combos off of a dissolve puddle hit from a 623A/B.. Depending on how far away the opponent is when hitting them with the dissolve, it can be harder to run up and get the initial hit to start certain combos. Most were performed from a round start distance just for illustration purposes. #1. Simple rejump combo. Works from any distance you can land the 5BB hit. #2. Same rejump combo as #1 but with a 5BBB ender for healing. Does not work from a very far distance since the opponent will be knocked down to far for the 5BBB to connect. #3. Simple sideswap route. Works from any distance you can land the 5A hit. Hitting the 5A after the run up can be harder from farther distances than hitting 5B however. #4. Same sideswap route as #3 but with a rejump for added damage. It also leaves the opponent closer to Carmine. #5. Damage route. Harder than the previous routes because it utilizes a bomb slide. Does not work from far distances since the opponent will be too far to be hit by the 623 after the mid combo bomb set. (The 5B > 2C must be done close to the opponent.) #6. Far route. Recommended to use when the puddle hits the opponent from nearly full screen. Can be done from closer distances, but the route changes since the first 5B will hit instead of whiff. #7. Corner carry route. Utilizes the corner carry BNB. Pinwheel ender is used since both Carmine and the opponent were taken all the way into the corner. #8. Corner carry route with a 66C for a bomb set ender. Better to use when the opponent is not taken into the corner so that bomb oki can be set up. #9. 100 meter corner route. 623 > 22C ender is used since Carmine is close enough to the cornered opponent to do that. #10. 100 meter midscreen route. 214 > 22C ender is used instead of 623 > 22C since opponent is farther away from Carmine. Better to use when there is still a bit of distance from the corner.

    • @KuronoOki
      @KuronoOki 5 месяцев назад

      @@sugararmor8 Ah, yeah that part can be kind of tricky since the inputs have to be pretty clean. Try to make sure you're not holding forward after the dash as well. You can just tap 66 and then press a neutral 5B before the DP input so that it doesn't have any extra inputs to mess up the reader. The forward movement of a tapped dash and the 5B is enough to get the correct spacing for the puddle DP to hit.

    Amazing video's dude!, will you ever make a fully optimize combo vid like to-go-to combos that's optimal. It can be very overwhelming learning SO many combos when there is only a few you need to get the job done...

    • @KuronoOki
      @KuronoOki 5 месяцев назад

      Ayyy I appreciate it! I actually have thought about making a video covering essential combos anyone playing Carm should know. There's really only like 5 combos people should know how to do in my opinion (this corner carry combo is one them). That said, none of them would be optimal combos since like none of the combos I do are optimals. I focus on doing combos that I find to be easyish/consistent/doable. I kind of already posted some of the ones I think are essential but if there's interest for a video covering them again, I can make it.

      A j.C from that assault after the run under will often hit in my experience so far. Against players with really good reactions, however, I'll go for that feint into 2B.

    Demonstrations of different corner carry combos for Carmine. The core of his typical corner carry BNB consist of 22A > 2C > 3[C] > 236A > run up. #1. The basic corner carry BNB off a 5A starter. Can work off other starters as well. One of the most important combos to know. Easy to do. #2. The basic combo but with an added 5C for damage. The 5C does add height to the opponent so that may affect the rest of the route and even break the combo depending on the starter. #3. 5BBB ender for healing. 5BB > 214BC can also be done for extra healing. Side swaps the opponent. #4. 214B for additional carry and a 22C ender. Ideal to 22C the opponent when they're carried into the corner. #5. 214C ender for a sneaky run under. #6. 5BB starter BNB. A variation of the basic BNB. Does not work off of 5A starter. The launch of the 623A within the combo allows for a ton of different routing and enders. More difficult to perform than the basic BNB. #7. Run under heal from the 5BB BNB. Keeps the opponent in the same side. #8. Close up blood prison ender from the 5BB BNB. #9. Far blood prison ender from the 5BB BNB. #10. Another variation of the corner carry BNB. This route is especially good when losing a bounce earlier in the combo (usually from the opponent touching the ground after 2C). These are just some of the many possible combos and variations. If there's any other ones you find or like to use, let me know!

    Is the 2aw necessary for pinwheel oki?

    • @KuronoOki
      @KuronoOki 5 месяцев назад

      It's not as you can just do 2C > pinwheel. However, it does often help time the pinwheel better. It also affects the direction of the puddle wave. In the example shown, the puddle wave travels towards the opponent. If the 2aw was not done, it would travel the opposite way towards Carmine. That's just a minor difference to keep in mind.

    This may be ad nauseam but do you play on pad ? And if so can you share how you bind your buttons, been contemplating learning carming and his neg edge / bomb sliding stuff been discouraging to say the least on my default mapping

    • @KuronoOki
      @KuronoOki 5 месяцев назад

      I play on leverless so I can’t personally give a pad layout. What I always see recommended from pad players, however, is to map either the A or C button onto one of the shoulder buttons so it’s easier to hold down a bomb. Other than that, using whatever is the most comfortable for you to be able to hold/slide bombs is the best recommendation as there’s not a single “best” layout for Carm.

      @@Kardz6 Ayy that's good to hear! Yeah if your layout is comfortable now, you just need to practice doing them to get it down. Some of the more practical bomb slide routes really only use like one or two slides so you don't need to get crazy good at them if you don't want to.

    I was expecting something completely different. The game calls it "Plinking"

    • @KuronoOki
      @KuronoOki 5 месяцев назад

      Plinking is the more common fighting game term for the slide action needed to perform bomb slides. The last game did not call it that and actually called it "hold shift release" instead. Even though they changed it to a more relevant term, I opted to not call it plinking in the video as some players might not be familiar with the term. I also felt that "shifting/sliding" would be clearer to understand in terms of the actual motion needed to do bomb slides.
