How did the cider turn out ??
Your apples look a bit hard, you might want to leave them longer till around October time, more sugar in the apples and a stronger cider then, good luck

You need to add an idler pulley to your belt drive, between the motor and the driven pulley. The idle can hang and be tensioned with a coil spring or a simple weight to take the slop out of the belt so that the scratter will not stall. Google idler pulley for flat belt. The idler can also be used as a clutch to start the drive going slowly then by increased tension on the belt the belt will cease to slip. The pulley on the motor should have a Slight crown to keep the belt tracking on the middle of the pulley. I think you devoted more time to your fowl and very little time to the actual pressing, for instance we don’t get to see the end of the pressing process. Check out the straw and oak and.straw in Devon for a well done presentation. Better luck next year!
Thanks so much for that, it could solve my biggest headache. I’ll look into it
Great editing O. Could almost smell the apples!
