We all know that The Block can belt, but what many overlook is that she's also got one of the purest voices out there. Although it's far too short, this is probably my favorite recording of her ever. I just love the way Frank Galati (PQ director) looks at her, like "Holy crap, you're amazing." This was taken from the Pirate Queen documentary that aired 3/12 on WLIW.
Good times. I just remembered that whenever I used to feel down I'd put this track on and play along. Almost 20 years later and it still works.

I found a video of this performance a few years ago. It was oddly titled, barely had any views, and now I don't remember how to find it. Fortunately I have it and recently uploaded it ; ) And in case anyone doubts someone could perform 7 connected songs for 33 minutes that perfectly, and thinks just maybe it was doctored slightly for the live album: um, it wasn't. Not to say people would think that, but it's pretty cool to watch the whole thing and recognize every moment (assuming people are as crazy as me and know this whole "song" by heart haha). I've also uploaded other rare Mraz stuff if anyone's interested : ) I commented before but I couldn't see it when I was signed out. It might've been marked as spam since I posted the link before. Check my videos if you want to find it.

I've listen to the original Broadway soundtrack for so long and i just want to see the full musical.(Yes, i know it's closde for a long time. Men... Ah,finally! I had this exact Performance by Jason on my old player . But then it got broken and all my favorite mraz songs were gone :/ Since then ive been able to find all the songs over again except for this medley right here! hehehe, Thanks to you i am complete! Thank you for sharing : )

I have trouble understanding it too, but I think she says "I know that time and tide are true" something like that...All I know is that these didn't end up being the "official" lyrics...LOL.
SHE IS COMPLETELY AMAZING!! I saw her in Wicked! And this musical she is phenomenal as well! LOVE HER VOICE!
She is amazing, and I can't believe she is almost done with wicked!! But one of the most amazing voices I have ever heard, Pirate queen was not given a chance!!!

Megan Shook, I agree 100%. I only just recently stumbled across Stephanie J. Block, giving an interview and she talks about PQ and then I came across this song and INSTANTLY FELL IN LOVE WITH IT, AND STEPHANIE'S GORGEOUS VOICE. And YES THESE LYRICS ARE LOVELY.
I agree. I haven't seen the revised show, but some of the changes that I heard happenned, I didn't like. But. It's closed, so it doesn't matter anymore.
This is truly the first time I've understood those words. WHY did they change the lyrics; this is much more lovely than the final version of "Here On This Night," IMO....
