Great takes. Particularly on the Kirk cousins situation. I agree that I think Kirk may have been slightly hurt, but not injured. I think that there are a lot of people who are just looking for reasons to pile on the organization, but as you have stated, it is also on the player to report if an injury is serious enough to affect their performance. And with Kirk being a 12-year better and who has had slumps, they were hoping that it was something he could pull out of. All during the season, he said that it was poor decision making. Now, all of a sudden, he's completely reversing step on everything he was saying in the season. If I'm another team, my question is how much can I actually trust Kirk?

The coaches decide the reserves, and they had to turn in their ballots this weekend, and by then, Hawks had already lost 4 in a row. Also people saying he should have replaced Tyler Herro, are wrong. Herro has been the Heat's offensive engine. He's averaging 24 on 62% TS% 58 EFG% while Bam has regressed on offense and Butler has missed 20 games. Garland is at 63% TS% Dame is 62% as well. And Mitchell is at 58%, Trae is at 55%. Coaches usually reward players on winning teams, Thus why Zach Lavine, who's averaging 25 on 64% True Shooting %, wasn't even a real option for most coaches. I believe Trae should've been an all-star, but there are stats where I could definitely see why coaches said no. His shooting has been bad, with a 55% True Shooting and 48% Effective Field Goal percentage. His turnovers are high, but he's tied with Harden, & Cade is 3rd, so you just can't punish him for that. But my reason I think Trae should've been chosen is that he's the only one that has to face double teams every night. Garland isn't going to be doubled with Mitchell on the floor, and vice versa. Dame plays less than 4 minutes a night without Giannis, he doesn't have to be an offensive engine. Same with Herro when Jimmy is playing. Even when Jalen was healthy, he's limited on how he could attack defenses in half court. Doing a lot of work going downhill 4 on 3, as both defenders stay with Trae as Jalen slips the screen. Trae having to do everything himself has to mean something.

I do think the Hawks will be better than expected without Jalen. I have really liked what I've seen from Mo. He also will get better as he gets more minutes. I'm not saying I think we will be great or anything, but some people think we won't win another game all year. I think we will be around .500 for the rest of the year.
