Subaru Brumby WRX Conversion
Просмотров 20 тыс.3 года назад
Just a walk through of my brumby WRX conversion.
Great build mate. Looking forward to seeing your Brumby in the next instalment of Mad Max.
awesome, thanks for sharing. Might do it myself one day, so look forward to any more updates and details.
So cool, i found a few rare gl wagons. Really makes me want to consider this on one of them, I have 3 of them.
Right my boyy
This is amazing
Wow.. great job! You are a master at meshing things up. Enjoy your creation.
Great build mate, thanks for sharing
The Leone and the Liberty are two different cars. The Forester engine has different cams, turbo and ECU when compared to a comparable year WRX.
I changed the turbo from a WRX is running Haltech ECU
And not sure what you mean by they are 2 different cars? I used the shaft for the CV from a 2WD Leonie and CV cups/ends are from a liberty.
@@thewayibuiltit6083That they have the same spline pattern on the driveshafts doesn’t mean the y are the same cars. You won’t get the same power from the Forester engine as the WRX due to the different cams. Does give better low end torque though.
Could you mount the new engine to the old gearbox?
With an adaptor plate I guess. But standard box wouldn’t handle the power
What car are your wheels off?
95 WRX
Good stuff mate, this is my dream build I'm so jealous lol. Have you put it on the drag strip yet?
Not yet
What type of steering knuckles do you have in the front I rlly wanna put those types in mine so I can put those types of coilovers in
99 WRX
I hit subscribe in the first 30 seconds... Good on ya mate! Keep up the good work! Cheers
Question. Was it hard? Was it worth it?
Had challenges. But enjoy working on the Brumby, so I’d say it’s definitely worth it.
VW bus rims fit
When spray the engine bay can you make a video pulling the engine to show what you have done regarding the engine mounts and how tight it comes in and out
Hey mate by chance you know what hilux and barina hoses ya used, cant seem to find the correct ones 😅
But great build tho mate, came across it due to having my own now 👍
Wish you posted more of the previous jobs on the brumby. Please keep us all posted of anything else you do on the project
Cool! Do you have any links to your other socials?
New video coming soon!
Nice mate, Was always told the overhead cam motor would not fit the chassis rails Were theirs a will theirs away!!!
Not a single but of modification the the frame to make it Fit.Car just passed engineering last week.
update please love this build
would you be willling to do this again ?
Yea really isn’t too hard to do.
hey mate i love it it looks awsome hey,im on the goldcoast and ive just brought my self a brumby, they really are a great car hey, dont suppose you know where i could find a few bits and pieces for a ea81?im chasing a intake manifold so i can do a supercharger conversion, pretty cool cars these days mate they just need more horse power haha
probably cheaper to chuck in a later model engine, than to supercharge the EA81 which will still be crap even with some boost.
How much did it cost in total?
$5500 including haltech and tune
Sounds like a good deal. For $5500 where did you get this done? I'm in brissy
sick ute bro..are you in the outback?
No Sunshine Coast QLD
Is back from Dyno now drives really well. Will make another video showing the rear brake and 5 stud conversion.
man its been six months show us alreADY.
We need an update please
Could you give us a update?im currently wrx sti swapping my brat (in the states) hard finding good videos of these things
This video is a treasure man. More of these ea engine subarus need to be kept alive. Would love to see that update on the 5 lug conversion.
Well done mate👍 Hit me up when you get sick of it and I'll buy it off you.
Not sure if I’d sell it and wouldn’t even know how much it’s worth
Why didn’t you just run a 255 fuel pump with a return? Surge tank with a return w/ another fuel pump is kind of a waste of time and money.
Can’t use the normal pick up below quarter of a tank when cornering or parked on hill. Original carby motor uses the bowl of the carby as its surge tank. Also this tank and pump was $100 of eBay.
Fantastic build mate, did the suspension take much fiddling around? What about the 5 lug? Wanting to change wheels and drop my brumby a bit but unsure on difficulty cheers
No changes to suspension just basic lathe work to make the backing plate sit Center Ed and machining and drilling of the drum to make it the same stud pattern of the 5 stud disc. Will be doing another video on how I did it also with rear handbrake
F@ck yes! Just talking about doing this with my girlfriend
Great job, the car looks fast and sounds great!!
