I have a 43” model form SCM. If you are considering a widebelt , notice how thick the conveyor belt is ? The Asian imprint ( powermatic ) have a carpet type feed. These units have a conveyor belt tracker and they use and electric eye instead of an air system. Miles ahead of th Asian imports. Just saying. For the same price or less , these machines are Ferraris of the widebelt world for less than the Asian imports. Even for a hobbyist. These units are a much better deal. Hope that helps someone. I put in a year of research on wide belts.

I must say, as a woodworker needing equipment to do the best work; I have dealt with Chicago Wurth and they have no fear in pricing what they sell (in limited numbers) at the highest pricing. Some of their consumables in bigger lots are higher priced than the big box stores. This reminds me of how Uline Wisconsin does business.

Doesn’t look very rigid, the wheels barely sprung upwards when the stock was fed through, but the entire head moved upward slightly. The wheels should individually move a bit when stock goes through, to put downward pressure on stock, but the head shouldn’t budge!

There is a larger distance between the roller on one end of the feeder than between the other two. When setting up my feeder, does it matter whether the stock first encounters the single roller or the two closely spaced ones? Also, on a shaper how should the three rollers be positioned with respect to the cutterhead? Thanks.
