Woodturning - The UFO Has Landed! - Hollowform
In this video I turn a stone pine hollow form. In order to reach inside far enough, I had to make the opening quite large in diameter. To ensure a secure stand without any wobble, even after the hollow form is fully dried I turned 3 little feet. In combination with the feet it looks a bit like an UFO in the end. The diameter of the finished piece measures about 32cm and the height about 13cm.
Woodturning - Glacier Easter Egg
It's almost Easter, so it's time to turn an Easter egg. For the bottom part I used my silicon mold to get an uneven structure, painted it with a layer of black acrylic paint and added two layers of resin with a "ghost blue" pigment to get the glacier effect. Adding the clear resin on top and it's time for the lathe. The egg ended up looking real nice, even though you can see some tiny annoying ...
Woodturning - Round Spruce Frame for a Wooden Puzzle
Instead of building a square frame, I decided to turn a round frame for a circular wooden puzzle. The finished frame has a diameter of 29,5cm and is 1,5cm thick. In general I would have liked to turn a frame with a slightly bigger diameter of about 33cm, but this piece of a spruce board was the largest one I could find at the moment.

In this video I turn a little birdhouse christmas ornament from leftover scrap wood pieces. The house itself is made of spalted birch and for the roof i used oak, which already had some wormholes in it. The finished ornament has a diameter of about 7cm at its widest point and is about 12cm high. For the hole i used a 20mm forstner bit. Total weight: 40g
Woodturning - Finishing the Bowl from the Moldy Log
6 months ago I turned this bowl blank out of a piece of wood which I've wrapped in foil and forgotten for a year - which resulted in a little bit of mold anf fungus growth. Now as it is dried, it was time to finish the bowl. I had to use some stabilizing resin on the soft parts and fill some cracks with CA glue, to prevent it from coming apart while turning, but besides that, it turned out pret...
Woodturning - Die Grinder Meets Wooden Vase

In this video I turn a little vase out of stone pine. Instead of just sanding it, and calling it a day, I decided to use my die grinder and carve a pattern into the surface.
Woodturning - From Leftover Fence Board to Segmented Ball Vase
In this video I turn a segmented ball vase, made of larch wood (leftover fence board which has been sitting in the barn for a few years already). The vase consists of 10 rings with 12 pieces each and one solid piece for the bottom. The finished diameter is about 24cm and it has a wall thickness of 1cm. #woodworking #woodturning #entertainment
Woodturning - Last Minute Mother's Day Gift

Mother's Day is very near and instead of buying some overpriced flowers at the gas station at the last moment, I decided to turn some scrap pieces into wooden flowers. The used woods are birch, poplar, hazelnut and ash. #woodworking #woodturning
Woodturning - Wrapped in Foil and Forgotten for a Year
In this video I rough turn a piece of birch, which I wrapped in foil about a year ago. The initial plan was to leave it in there for 4-6 weeks to get some spalting, but the other piece I unwrapped after 6 weeks didn't give the results I was hoping for, so I left the other one wrapped and.....forgot about it, until I discovered it again some days ago. After rough turning it is sitting with my ot...

Beautiful piece and interesting process. Full view and Like 👍
Very good video. I was intririgued by using the faceplate then a tenon to turn the wood. Was that a square end scraper or NR scraper in one part? Didn't see the end of the tool.
Thank you! I rewatched the video and I think I didn't use a scraper at all - it was most likely just a skew chisel.
I watch these videos to learn !! I learned nothing here !! Might want narrate a bit ! So for that it's Thumbs down BUT .. a nice finished piece.
What do you use on the wood before spraying plz
Before the black spray lacquer? Nothing, I only sand it to about 320 grit.
Thank you for the video. I'm totally going to make these.
I use a half inch skew or a bedan to cut tenons
Liked no music, just the sound of sharp tool. Very relaxing to watch beauty art form made.
Great idea to make flowers!!! Thank you for sharing!!
I've been turning for years, and I must say you ended up with a masterpiece.
Wow this came out great !
Very nice 👽
Stunning ❤
Wow, fantastic creation, it is very beautiful. Take care.
You mean vases FOR dried flowers...the name is almost deceiving.
Deceiving? What did you think, that the vase is made of dried flowers? A vase which is used for fresh flowers, is called a "flower vase", so why would I not call it a "dried flowers vase" if it's used for dried flowers.
@@steraturning I said 'almost deceiving'...please re-read my comment. I read the description AFTERWARDS. Please don't get on my case, you're the one who read it wrong...thank you.
Beautiful! Please keep posting, appreciate your teachings.
Very nice, where did you purchase the lamp component?
Thank you, I just ordered them on amazon. If I'd make a similar lampshade again, I'd probably buy different components, that are made for mounting them directly to the ceiling.
So that's how it is done. Thank you!
Great idea !! Thanks for sharing.
Darauf muss man erstmal kommen! Bravo!
LG
Love this design and’s methodology. Thanks for sharing.
Cool piece!

Very nice .
Turned out great 👍
Great
Very nice 👍
That’s got some really beautiful colors and inclusions. I’d say you were wise to save that blank.
That is some very nice spalting, it'll be a very nice bowl.
I guess we will see it again in another year.
Looks great 👍
Thanks!
Showing up perfectly well here!! Gonna be a lovely bowl!! 😁
Hopefully, with the help of a little stabilizing resin for the soft spots, it should work out great.
Nice
Thank you!
You should film these videos in 60fps. will make it a lot easier to see whats going on
I'll consider it when I'm filiming the next one.
👋👌👍
Genius ide
This video deserves thousands of likes! Excellent work. So simple and elegant!
How long did it take to hollow out the vase?
I just checked the timestamps of the videofiles and the hollowing took me exactly 1 hour and 40 minutes.
❤
Nice job
👍👍👍
Very nice. I like the 3 foot idea
Very impressive! I just wondered if you could fill the base with sand or similar, to provide some weight?
Thanks! Sure, you could fill it with sand, to add some weight if needed. That's what I would do as well, to make sure it has a secure stand.
