Starting YouTube as a Shy Creator - My Tips + Journey
Starting a RUclips channel has been a huge step out of my comfort zone. I’ve always been shy and have avoided the spotlight, preferring to stay behind the scenes. I realised if I kept letting fear hold me back, I’d never grow or pursue the things that excite me. So, here I am, facing the camera, in my 50's no less, nervous but determined to push through. It's a journey of self-discovery and courage. I'm embracing my vulnerability and taking the leap into something that challenges me. As I always say "You can't grow inside your comfort zone."
I hope this video inspires you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new, no matter how shy or what age you are.

Embarking on a RUclips journey in your 50s can be intimidating, especially when you're not tech-savvy. However, occasional frustrations are perfectly normal when venturing into something unfamiliar. The most important message you can take away from this video is never give up. Keep forging ahead and remember humor is the best way of enjoying the mishaps along the way.

The thought of uploading my face on RUclips for the first time was terrifying. I have struggled with anxiety and lacked self-confidence for most of my life. Deciding to put my 56-year-old face on RUclips was a huge decision for me and when I finally decided to go for it, well, you can see in real-time my anxiety come into play. My goal is to assist others in conquering their fears and anxieties...

You’re welcome 😊 Thanks for watching.
Love this! 🎉❤
how long does it take for you to get out to breath
Typically I can hold my breath for 20-30 seconds, but everyone is different.
Thank you very much. I needed that.
You are very welcome, keep going ❤
@@JulieM2.0 Yes, I am. Made a mistanke at 16 years old. My loving Mother died in 1998, but my father and sister have contact still. I turned my life around 10 years ago. Have asked him on my knees several time before I " took the soon with the other hand", ( Norwegian saying for big change), and have said to him we never know when the time is up. He had a triple- by-pass heart Operation around 93/ 94, but No hand reaching out back to me. I am 1966 modell and he was almost 30 years old then. It is very hard. 10 year being a good girl and hoped for a positive reaching maybe not the first year, but after 10? Every holdyday, yes, every what ever.....it is hard to see the big point going on. I am sorry to drag this heavy-nes over you. I Just wanted to thank you for the answer on my "thank you", comment again. You Did a good thing that hit me here far North on an other continent. Humle hug to you from me. Hilde!
@@hildea.e3319big hug to you Hilde ❤️
Thank you for sharing.
My pleasure, thank you for watching :)
Thank you!!❤
You are very welcome :)
Very helpful. Great way to keep bead from spinning. Thank you for sharing ❤
You are very welcome, thank you for watching!
I took a handful beads (about 10) add just a little of acrylic paint (about a dime size diluted with a little water) then shake them up in a little dollar tree plastic container with a lid, dry them on a paper plate with a blow dryer and bam!🤣
That is a great idea!
Thanks, making these for my moms birthday. And fathers day. Great tutorial.
You are very welcome. How did they turn out?
How beads did you use?
Hello how would I unite them and add a cross at the end a video would be so helpful!
Where did you get your supplies? What brand of nylon thread did you get & what size? Thanks so much!
I got the nylon thread from our local dollar store, just the thinnest I could find.
How about the holes? Are you painting them afterwards?
I don't paint the holes because once you put a string through you can't see the hole.
@@JulieM2.0 thank you!
Would wax paint be okay?
I've never tried wax paint on them. If you try it let me know how you go :)
I too am so uncreative I need a tutorial for how to put a series of boring beads on a string
I hope the tutorial helped :)
It looks really nice I'm in the process of trying different methods it is trickier than it looks.
It's definitely trickier than it looks :)
Do you ever gloss your beads ? if you do how do you do it?
I normally don't gloss my beads. I prefer the flat/matte look personally. But you could use gloss paint if you want the glossy look :)
I couldn’t help myself but I’m also from Manitoba and live in Melbourne Australia. And I also do sea glass mobiles and seashell mobiles. How cool!! Small world!
Very small world :)
I love your taste!
Oh thank you!
where'd you find a pile of the 25mm beads for a good price?
Etsy!
Great instructions, thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
I use metal kabob stick and ir works great.
Yes that would work too :)
Can't you just dip them in the paint?
You could, I've tried that method and it's quite messy, uses more paint and when you hang the beads to dry it develops a pool of excess paint.
I love it I have been looking for this thank you
Glad you enjoyed the tutorial and happy crafting!
with the 2 layers you still see the color because the kind of paint? what about spray paint or acrylic paint?
Spray paint would work, but would be messier than this method. I prefer water based paint over chemical based, but you could you acrylic paint if you wanted :)
Oh you’re so smart! I found an artist brush handle that fit mine to push them up into and painted mine using liquid silver for our curtain holders on our patio...But, I like your tutorial much better!!
Thank you Lisa, glad you liked the tutorial and happy crafting!
Beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
What kind of paint? Any type top coat so paint wont come off?
The paint I used in the sample pot is paint that you would use on walls and it doesn't come off, so no top coat required :)
There's also a white stain. Easy Peasy no need to wipe really... Used it and was de-stressed and could see the wood under the stain. Plus because stain is water based dried fast.
Great tip, thank you.
Great video!
Thank you.
You should use one cost of primer and you can even tint it with the paint colour. Then you would only need two coats. Just an idea.
That is a great idea! Thank you so much for the suggestion!
It’s cute and peaceful. I love it!! Out of pure curiosity ... I notice a hint of Canadian or Great Lakes area to your manner of speech. I think? I know you’re in AUS, I was curious about your country of origin, if that’s not too intrusive.
Good catch! I'm originally from Manitoba, Canada, but have lived in Australia for 15 years. The Canadian accent is still very strong though.
What type of tray are you using? It’s perfect
The plastic tray is from Ikea, it's meant to be a cutlery drawer insert, but I discovered it works great for painting beads too.
Love your videos
Thank you so much!
I use a dowel or small paint brush. They fit better.
Me too. For nice and tight but not too tight.
That would work too :)
What kind of paint you used?
For this project I used Taubmans water based low sheen paint. The colour of red is called "apple a day".
Great tutorial, what store did you get your paint from?
My local Mitre 10 store. I also get them from Bunnings.
Love these!! Super cute! New subscriber here! 😊❤️
Thank you so much for the lovely comment + subscribing! I've got lots of new tutorials in the process :)
Iī

Where did you get your plastic tray from? Love it thank you
