In particular, comments like those made by "Mad Dog" Russo-such as, “Value is about what a player contributes to the league as a whole and how much they help lead their team to the World Series”-risk undermining the significance of Ohtani's achievements. To me, this rhetoric sounded like a glaring double standard.
