Sorry you were injured. Cattle can be very unpredictable. In the US we use "blocking chutes" (light weight aluminum chutes that hold the cattle for clipping and grooming) or up and down poles in the wash rack concrete to keeps animals from swinging back and forth while rinsing. The poles are positioned on either side of the calf at about the forerib area.

"Lucky enough never to have to work with them"? I would say unlucky, because working with horses on a farm is very rewarding in itself. They are not just tools, they are partners.
Animals are NEVER TOOLS!!!! If that’s how you view them Your a sad Un empathetic person. The Amish and people like Them run their animals into the ground. THEIR POINT OF VEIW THEYRE MACHINES WHEN THEYRE BROKE ! GET RID OF THEM AT THE KILLER SALE. ( doesn’t matter horses cows sheep goats ect) And How You Treat An Animal Is Most Definitely How YOULL Treat People. THATS A FACT !!!
@@elenacaddell3639 I fully agree. And unfortunately you are also right about the majority of Amish. I met very few who look at this differently. Probably because of the "dominion over the animals", that the Bible teaches them. I have had horses now for sixty years, and I must say the older I get the more I appreciate them and their willingness to cooperate with us.
