If you bring a King trait servant, they get 100% damage up and Karl's ruler res. is negated, essentially giving you full offensive advantage. But Karl's 12 time 50% damage res ensures this won't be useful for the first 3-4 turns. An avenger with King trait would get enough damage to completelly negate that res. Of the 2 in the game, Maou is currently the only one on NA.
