I am sorry you both have been ill. My husband and I got Covid on Christmas Eve. My 96 yo father was in rehab due to multiple falls and a hematoma on his hip. I ended up also getting bronchitis and a sinus infection. My MIL passed at the end of December. My husband and I are still recovering from everything. That being said, yes, January rotted! Keep your journals. They are a story of your path and I think you would miss them. Imagine a grandchild discovering a box of them and spending hours flipping through them! What a treasure! I am sorry you will have to downsize and move, but that seems to be the way as we grow older. I had a bureau and lingerie chest custom made to hold my tarot and oracle decks. A few times a year I go through and thin them out, but it keeps them tidy, categorized, and keeps me in check! If they don't fit, they can't stay! Unless they are on the trolley that has one level devoted to the ones that are on rotation! I think your journey of thinning out and reorganizing them will be fun and adventurous. I've sold decks online, gifted them to friends, sent them in exchange packages or donated them to library sales. There is always someone to receive them on the other end and enjoy them! I like constantly picking at it. I didn't buy them all at once, nor will I get rid of them all at once. It is such a personal process and should be fun, not a chore!!

Awww bless Giselle, so much of what you said resonated with me.. Im still facing similar struggles having moved house and downsizing. Your journals are gorgeous..I got rid of some of mine last year when I realised I had way too much stuff, and now I regret it.. they were so personal, I wish I had kept them. I had to give away so many books and bits of furniture...I found it really painful. Silly really.. just things. Its our attachments 😅❤ I'm sure you will make some wise decisions when the time comes. No need to rush anything. Sending a big hug 🤗❤️

Sorry to hear January was that bad. :/ About the journals, how about digitizing them? Then you can have them to look through if you want to but won't take them up space. I was thinking that later they might be important for your children and grandchildren so keeping them in some form could be nice. Re decks: take your time, it's hard to be forced to downsize :/

I’m sure that you have thought of this already, but just in case…if you decide to get rid of any books or tarot decks why not put them in your shop as I would certainly be interested in buying some from you and I’m sure other viewers would be too. Anyway I’m looking forward to seeing your cataloguing process, I did the same with my unread books this year and my aim is not to buy anymore this year but read what I have…We will see how I get on as my willpower regarding books and decks isn’t so good 😂. Please carry on doing your videos I like others really enjoy them, not matter what you film. ❤

I am doing the same thing, only for me, I am putting up shelves to finish unpacking boxes from when I moved in here 5 years ago 🤪🤪 My collection is hard back children's books from well known authors, witchcraft books, and tarot decks. As I go through these things, I am getting rid of anything I don't fancy anymore. I'm not saving anything for my kids because they don't want it, but will keep it because they'll feel bad getting rid of it. So I want to do it before I'm gone. Plus, we had to move my mom into assisted living, and my sisters and I had to go through all her things and it was a nightmare. She thought everything was worth something, but hardly anything sold, most went to the dump. I'm excited to have a "partner in crime" to be doing this with, and I look forward to your process and working alongside your videos. ❤

Box up those journals, mark the box, "Mom's Art," and give the box to your most stable child. They will all be grateful for the history. Can you just imagine if you had complete tarot journals from a grandparent? The materials won't be made anymore, writing and language changes. You can even pack up a couple of the decks you were studying with them. I wish I could magically transport to you to help. I think your plan is sound. My words for the year, 'little by little' - you may borrow! 😅

It's a truly interesting process, isn't it? Lately, I find myself simply archiving or setting aside many decks onto closet or 'difficult to get to' shelving areas; those are the decks that while I still like them, I just don't WORK WITH them in my current practice. I might want to in two or five years, just as I might access parts of my library that I haven't done in five years or whatever, so no, unless I actively dislike a deck, I don't get rid of them. I'm in my mid-60s and since hubby will retire in a few years, at which point our disposable income will drop drastically, I know that acquisitions will be significantly curtailed. So I will mostly hold on to what I have even if I archive them -- and I do keep a detailed image-notebook/catalogue (I made a little amateur video of that) of the decks I have and where the decks are currently housed. ;) As for journals, which I have dozens of, too, I'm holding on to them on the off-chance (as with my extensive library and deck collection) that my grand- nieces and nephews currently in toddlerhood might be curious enough to explore them in twenty years to learn more about their odd old aunt. LOL If not, they can toss them. ;) Sending you (((healing))) and blessings!

❤ so glad you have turned the corner with your healing. I think you misunderstand why people return to your channel... and thats because we really enjoy your company. Even if that is through the screen. Getting older does force some changes on us, and some are really hard to swallow, but we will get there together. I love watching what I call "puttering " videos. Loved this video! I have the tin and regular sized decks. The tin reads well for me, I never get a readable spread with the regular size. Go figure! I did get an old copy of the book used. Haven't read it, yet, now I'm wanting to put it on my "read next" list! 😊❤

Loving the ideas around tarot-poetry-sewing combinations. I need to think of more ways to combine books and tarot!

I’m not good at sewing, but I like that Slow Stitch book. Sometimes I’ve learned to make things not because I wanted to hand make everything forever, but just to appreciate what exactly goes into it all.

The poetry bookshelf is perfect! I would be very happy to look at it each morning too 😊 I love sitting with my coffee in my bed in the morning too, but once I have to put my book down to tackle the day, I tend to get grumpier and grumpier because I want that peace of mind back 😂 I loved your reading of the poem ❤ I need to read more Mary Oliver. That’s such a wonderful idea: letter writing, especially with an impressionable young person. I just love it. Pairing a deck with a poem is a beautiful idea! Loved this Giselle ❤❤❤

Hi Giselle! Your bits about working with fibers and thread reminded me how, about 25 years ago, i got a bagful of those little cardboard spools of yarn, all sorts of mixtures of different fibers. So one yarn might have a thread of polyester in with cotton, linen and silk. I spent literal days, fishing out the synthetics, and then did small bits of weaving with the natural yarns. I guess I knew what I wanted...!! I'll see if i can find it, to share. It was totally Avaloncraft meets Galadriel😂... You'd love Klimt in real life.... 🌻🧡

Love the idea of intentions instead of goals. Poetry is magic and it works beautifully with tarot, so this I imagine this intention of yours is going to be great. I really like Siolo Thompson's art but my Linestrider tarot is that horrible cardboard type stock that the first printing was in, it's not nice to shuffle. I don't know if subsequent printings are on better cardstock but I am terrible at picking up second copies of decks I already own because I would rather get a deck I don't have with the money. Don't even get me started on stamp prices! Postage in the UK is bananas these days, I nearly cried at the cost of sending out my xmas cards last year. We need a re-nationalised Royal Mail (among other services). Thanks for sharing. x

This was so lovely...poetry is the music of words. I have written poetry of love, poetry of heartbreak, poertry of trauma...some I paired with music, some stood in its own energy. Poetry is underappreciated for its potential for simple enjoyment to profound healing at the deepest level. I so appreciate you sharing this facet of who you are❤

I have three decks of Siolo Thompson: "The Otherkin Tarot", "The Linestrider Tarot" and "Scrying Ink Lenormand" They are amazing. I love them.

Great idea. Thank you for reminding me of fond memories of Basildon Bond paper and ink blotter, and the little blue Brother that I learnt to type on. Love slowing down. I don't make videos to share but I do something similar with my decks and folklore, seasonal books. A few words stand out and I find cards that enhance or relate to the imagery or feelings. This often then prompts an observation in nature or link to another text or image. Going slow allows the web of interconnections to reveal themselves like a spider web or the pattern of tree branches in a wood, so easy to miss when rushing through life.
