Sooper's Monkey Farm
Добавлен 16 июл 2006
I watch too many movies and talk about them. Or whatever other random topic pops into my head.
Cthulhu vs The World
I made this goofy thing in 2006 and thought it was lost forever. Just found it, realized the credits had mistakes, so I updated those to some degree and now I'm putting it up on my channel.

My thoughts on the Halloween series from 1978 to now. Warning: There are a few short film clips that include some strobe lighting effects, and some amount of fake gore.

Grief, losing a partner, and viewing media

This is part me just talking about my wife, part rambling about media that is difficult to watch while grieving, and part me saying "um" a lot.
grieving

this is really only here for my own need to put it out there. it's not funny or entertaining, it's rambling, and there are no edits or anything, this is just raw unfiltered me grieving. nobody actually needs to watch it, but I'm uploading it so it exists.
Transformers:The Movie (1986) - a Meltdown review
Просмотров 203 года назад
Just me talking about giant robots. Also my dad. Also yes, apparently there was a fly in my room, which I didn't notice while filming, but certainly noticed while editing. Anybody know how to cgi a fly out of a video? Because I clearly don't.

I'm too sober for this shit!
That was awesome
I've never seen Casablanca. Now I'm going to go watch Casablanca. Also, my two must see holiday movies are Scrooged and Nightmare Before Christmas.
I’ve never heard of Black Christmas. Now I have to watch it. Thank you. 🎄🔪👍
I’ve never heard of The Christmas Shoes, and now I wish a hadn’t.
Was totally hoping you caught the masks. I just giggled and grinned when I saw them.
I'm thinking Jason is part of a multi-universe. Which is why there is no continuity.
There being a Voorhees multiverse would solve the myriad of continuity issues. None of the movie are actually connected to each other, they're all alt timelines.
Team Freddy all the way!
Crotch cam!!
The close up on that shot was definitely unnecessary.
Great video! I’m looking forward to more.
Love you
Very moving
I love you. I soooo wish I could be there with you. It sucks. Getting these feelings out is important. I know it doesn’t probably help much, but you and I have a bond that is precious to me. I’m sending hugs and praying for you too.
I am SO glad you are posting these thoughts and feelings. I believe they are important for your healing. Maddie will be remembered by those of us who knew and loved her. She was as you said very unique and a very special person. I love you so much and I loved her. Praying for you every day. Love, Mom
Sharing your stories with Mads is important. Sharing your grief is important. She is missed, but by no one more then you. We love you Sooper.
You're right - Dad taking us to the movies was a huge deal. For the record, I was 9 in 1977, so you were close.
Yeah, I was trying to calculate that as I was filming and just guessed at it.
P a n i n i
I was always more of a Joe fan, so make that video!
It is on the list for sure, though I will get more into the comics and the animated series for that, because a lot of it was really good.
b e l o v e d
That was great!
I loved this series. Top favorite moments (No particular order): 1. Adam and Mossman's talk in heaven 2. The tease at Teela's potential, her arc in hell 3. Evil-Lyn and Orcko's shared moments 4. Roboto's fear And yeah, his death was rough, but way to go out like a boss. Now if they'd killed Cringer, riot.
Orco's death hit me so hard.
Definitely. Like I felt it coming, and I just kept thinking "no no no", but like I said, if he had to go out, that was a great way. I feel like a lesser storytelling team with less respect for the source would have killed him as a joke, and that would have pissed me off.
If I ever get an ipad I should get Marvel Unlimited. Also they should sponsor you, but I guess you need more followers first =(
Yeah, I would need some actual viewer numbers to get a sponsorship. Which would be nice, but I don't anticipate that occurring.
I'd buy this for a dollar!
Oddly learning a lesson and not actually growing is a metaphor for real life.
That's fairly accurate, yes. I think we've all learned something today...
Audio and video seems improved 10/10 stars
Here's a taco. 🌮
Can you post a video of yourself reciting the Gettysburg Address?
I supposed in theory yes. I feel like it loses some charm when it's not a 5th header with a fake beard.
:(
Thanks for making this video and sharing your experience. This was all stuff I knew about peripherally, but had never heard the details. I feel like I know you a lot better now. Looking forward to your next video. 👍
Alison's arc was always peculiar to me.
It just feels like, half the time it's well intentioned people who just don't understand why you would want to not look "normal", so they assume it must be because there's something wrong with you, or you just want attention. The other half is concern trolls who are just very uncomfortable with you existing and not being normal.
Your presentation, is way better than mine, but here’s my main critique, my dirty secret. I’ve never seen the Breakfast Club
It's a pretty good movie. But, there are plenty of "must see" movies I haven't seen too. I've done plenty of stuff on various monster movies that I'm sure you've seen at some point.
I'm still working on the presentation, but I do think I'm way better than when I started. The first few videos are rough.
Abyss DC is my favorite for sure...
It's a definite improvement.
that was a great video
Thanks.
The costume shifting gag is my favorite ever. Brilliant!
I'm glad it worked, shooting and editing it was a pain.
Great video! I laughed hard!
"Sir this is an Arby's Drive-thru"
Look, do you want curly fries or not?
Keep doing these. This is great!
Coming next: werewolves
This is my shit, yo.
What's your favorite Del Toro movie?
Right now I would say shape of water, though with several close seconds. I cried at the end of this when I first saw it. I love hellboy and blade 2 and crimson peak, but they didn't elicit that level of emotion.
@@Sooper1018 I haven't seen it yet.
“Power reveals” is something I’d not heard before, and it got me thinking in different ways on the subject. Thank you.
If nothing else I thought it was an interesting and more nuanced way of looking at things, and I'm happy it worked it's way into the final product.
We spent all weekend watching RHPS twice with props the second time.
Man, they cut the best line!
Art least it's back in on current copies.
Everybody's descended from Charlemagne. That guy got around!
Actually I have no idea if that's true, but my college roommate whose mom was really into genealogy was also in Charlie's line.
@@christineelrod6096 true, but did they also hunt Nazis?
Gary Oldman is my favorite Dracula. He was the first Dracula I ever saw in a theater, and I love his over the top performance. Also, damn you for not discussing the Nickelodeon classic Count Duckula. 😆
I don't think I ever saw count duckula, so that's probably why.
Explain why Friday the 13th is a good franchise. It's never appealed to me.
I feel like that's a whole video, especially since my opinions on the series are complicated.
@@Sooper1018 yeah make a new video!
That explains why the Dawn remake was so good.
It's good enough that I can forgive the running zombies
@@Sooper1018 I was hype to see Sarah Polley since I was a fan of her work with Disney. And the hot husband from Medium and the dopey husband from Modern Family. Plus the hot redhead and the old guy... Not to mention Mekhi Phifer. Good cast.
@@catscar708 honestly Pfifer and Ving Rhames were the only ones I recognized at the time, and they're still the two I'm most familiar with now. A lot of the rest, I vaguely am aware they're in other stuff now but it's not stuff I watch.
Also can we please kill off the dopey incompetent husband trope in sitcoms forever? And the nagging wife trope? Please?
@@Sooper1018 How could I forget Ving Rhames! Just an all-star cast
Carnival of Souls is so good
