The University of Calgary Filipino Students’ Association (UCFSA) is a social club sanctioned by the Student’s Union (U of C) in 1992. Our goal is to provide its members, as well as the community, with a taste of Filipino culture. Our motto is, “Ang hindi marunong lumingon sa pinanggalingan ay hindi makarating sa paroroonan,” which means He who does not look back to his roots will not reach his destination. With this in mind, the UCFSA strives to help its members realize the best aspects of being Filipino-Canadians, while engaging a variety of people and reaching out to the community. With many active members and alumni throughout the community, the UCFSA is the perfect way to meet new people and have fun in a welcoming environment while learning a little more about Filipino culture.

A beautiful story showcasing, laughter, love, hardship, and more is presented through a determined young man who yearns to find his love again, and his journey through the multiverse.

No rules. As long as the Tapis (bottom skirt) is not 2 inches above the knee. You can do solo and be creative..

Hello po, don't worry po it's not original Bumayah. Every year, our choreographers come up with new choreography for the dances we perform while keeping the fundamental purpose of the dance. It's meant to be a hybrid of old and new to keep our show fresh. Hope that helps.

Is this really an igorot dance? Im just asking, wala po akong makuhang info about this moon festive igorot dance
Hello po, thank you for pointing out! We have updated the title/description to better explain the dance's origin and meaning. As for the "igorot" part of it, Moon Festive originated in Southern Luzon but in our show we include it in our "Igorot suite" of dances for easy categorization and because the indigenous people that this dance originated from closely resembles that of Igorot tribes of Northern Luzon. Hope that clears out the confusion.
