So good to hear them again - sounding just as good as ever
Sounds just about as good as when they did it with the entire bellowhead
Haven't heard this for a while ! I'll have to dig out the old L.P. IT impressed me at the time (71/72) ,still does . A lot of Ralph's songs have " long legs " Thanks Ralph for the treasure chest of goodies !
Me too was magical ❤
Great composition and well executed! Well done.
Stunning stand out moment for me this year ❤
Ralph ,winding down ,growing old gracefully and with dignity . " Keep on Truckin ! " 🙂
I grew up listening to these lovely voices ❤ My prayer is one day to watch you guys live 🙏 a truck driver from Zambia 🇿🇲
This is the kind of music they used to play when they first appeared on the scene. Magic stuff and I wish they would do more of it again. They seem to have gone their separate ways, and Mr Wood has recorded some very strange stuff to my taste. How many people know that the box Andy is playing was the result of going to a manufacturer to "build" his own box? He did assemble his own, but someone else had assembled one with 3 rows of bases, and Andy was so taken by it, they did a swap. So this explains why he is not playing one of his usual Castagnaris. Not a lot of people know that - boom boom.
awesome just awesome
Wonderful!
Was lucky enough to see this performance and what a privilage it was..i didnt know her work before but never seen a performer connect with an audience so well.. i cried like a baby all the way through and i hope upon hope that the promoters book her again for next year..
I first saw Jonathan Kelly at Bristol Colston Hall (as it was then) in 1972 and I think he was back-up to The Strawbs. I was immediately hooked on JK's story telling in songs like Sligo Fair, The Ballad of Cursed Anna, I used to Know you, Leave them go and Madeleine. Thank you gents for bringing back some very fond memories of my teenage years
The two tunes are "Long for Light" and "Just Stop and Eat the Roses."
Thanks for the info Nigel.
Nearly! Jabalpur.
Thanks Nigel, amended.
Wonderful
Thanks once again, Tony. Date was 24/08/24.
Thanks Nigel, amended
At Abbotsbury it was simply "Lost in the Desert," but as he said it was a working title! BTW the date was 24/08/24.
Excellent camera work, as always, Tony. Of course, they haven't recorded any of this stuff yet, but as far as I could make out this opening sequence goes by the title of Wake Up You Dreamers.
Thanks Nigel, I’ve added it to the title.
I feel so lucky to have been there - it was magical!
Thanks for sharing, Tony!
Thanks for the appreciation/ encouragement Kat. Excellent music, well performed. When I heard you warming up with a fragment of “Lucy” something clicked in my brain that I’d heard it before. It’s amazing how tunes are buried deep in there. After some time I realised that I’d seen you before at Cropredy last year where you went down well.
Thank you so much for posting this.
Ralph McTell forever.
Great song
It DOES look like fun!!
Hi whats the name of this song please .
Went there 40+ years ago had a wonderful time 😅
My dad listened to the London Conversation LP loads when I was young and only recently rediscovered it again when I was randomly listening to music and recognised it
One of the best songs on his 'You Well-Meaning Brought me Here', along with 'Old Brown Dog', and 'The Ferryman'. I've seen Ralph in 4 different countries. UK, Australia, Singapore and Qatar. Loved his music for more than 50 years
Cheers Tony! Was wondering how it sounded from the hill.
It was pretty good as I was under the sound people. You have some interesting music, I detected a possible Comus influence.

Thanks so much for posting this 🙏 Our band (Bow Creek) was playing at Sidmouth the same night and we missed out on seeing this concert. We were treated to a quick five minutes at the end of our gig as we loaded our instruments into the car near the Ham Marquee and we caught his unmistakable voice drifting over the trees. ❤
Nicholas ?? Lol
Ralph has gotten more modest over the years: I am pretty sure that the original lyric was "until my skin turns brown" rather than "until my face turns brown." More of the young Ralph may have been on show!
I think I first heard this when I was listening to "Folk on Two" back when it was presented by Jim Lloyd, who chose some pretty good songs in his time!
Lovely song!
Noted by Ralph Vaughan Williams from My Anderson in Kings Lynn, Norfolk in 1905
Hi Nick, Heard you sing this at FolkEast... great to have a recording here!
Very graceful …
Was there yesterday for the last FE at Glemham - great performance from GBB!
Gonna see him here in November! I´m so excited, so glad he is of good health and can still bless us with his music on his many tours! Here´s a health to you, Andy!
Thanks for posting!
Thank you for posting. What a timeless song this is. A hymn for mankind
Ok Nice ❤bless
One of the top highlights from Sidmouth '24! Thanks for sharing - if you recorded "Give it a go" and/or "Crossing the Bar" please would you post those too.
Only tuned in because it's not The Streets of London out of curiosity.
Ralph has written an awful lot of original songs and rags.
Great.
Thanks for sharing, this was lovely. It is Zeytuni Zar by Arto Tuncboyaciyan…. ruclips.net/video/YoR4Ejnhqc4/видео.html
Thanks for the info Kate, I’ve referenced this comment in the description.
John may have left us but his music is still with us. this is fantastic
