Hey man, unfortunately, my hips are still pretty messed up and I need to get replacements, I do have hip dysplasia, which is why the labral tear surgery did not work. Been super frustrating but trying to keep my head up. Best of luck to you and feel free to ask any questions, I’m an open book.

I’m truly sorry to hear what you’re going through :( and I wish you all the luck as well with the recovery! I assume you’ve seen several different orthopedics, surgeons, doctors to get several opinions already? Did they make a test or something to make sure that you really have hip dysplasia? Apologies in advance for the long text that’s about to come 🙈 Update from me: I was in contact with a team that several doctors recommended, and got a quick appointment. At the meeting i met a guy from the team (not a hip specialist). He said that my condition was pretty rare for him. But that nothing said that the tear wouldn’t heal on its own.. I asked him if I had hip dysplasia, and he ruled it out immediately with some kind of measure test. During our talk he wanted to have a 2nd opinion from their „known hip surgeon“ of the team. I waited outside for 5 mins, got called in, from looking at the X-ray the hip surgeon said immediately that I had a CAM impingement.. he said they could help with surgery. And made bad jokes when I asked if there was another way (physio, etc) I left feeling that I had a million questions, but there was no time for them to answer. Yesterday I met with an orthopedic who’s a good friend of a family that I know. As always everything was very stressful. The clinics system was down, I had the last appointment of the day and I had the feeling that there’s no time. He looked at the X-ray of my hip for a few seconds and told me I had hip dysplasia.. so now I’m thinking to myself that I met another guy 2 weeks ago that ruled out that I had hip dysplasia, and now this guy says I have it… I told him that the orthopedic I met with earlier said I didn’t have it and also did the measure test. And his response was.. hmm, yeah but it’s a mild one🤷‍♂️ He did some other tests to confirm the impingement and looked at the MRI as well. His first recommendation was arthroscopic surgery. I said that surgery is my last resort and that I’d like to try conservative methods first. He said that we are now going to do an arthro MRI, he wants to do cortisone injections (I’m gonna say no to that) and he gave me a physio recommendation. After the results from the new arthro MRI we are going to look at the choices.. I think it’s crazy how quickly they throw out random diagnoses and then want u to do surgery with that little information 🙈 I really don’t know what to about the info regarding the hip dysplasia. I just have such a hard time trusting what anyone is saying. Been dealing with a foot injury for 10 years back and forth and was the same kind of feeling back then.
