Interestingly, the Lancashire crime writer George Bellairs (real name: Harold Blundell), set one of his crime novels there: “Death Drops the Pilot” in which Chief Inspector Littlejohn and his faithful sidekick, Sergeant Cromwell, from Scotland Yard, investigate the death of the ferry captain. The names of the real places, apart from one, were changed, but there’s doubt when you read the book of where it is set: Fleetwood (Falbright); River Wyre (River Hore); Knott End-on-Sea (Elmer’s Creek); Bourne Arms (Barlow Arms); Wyre Rose (Falbright Jenny); Pilling Sands (Pullar Sands) Preesall (Peshall) and Saracen’s Head (Saracen’s Head). The Saracen’s Head in the novel was located in Pullar Sands whereas the real Saracen’s Head was located in in Preesall. It closed in 2011 and is now a B & B named Saracen’s House. The novel was published in 1956, so I imagine much has changed in the Knott End-on-Sea area since then. If you can get hold of this book (it is still available from many online sites) it is well worth a read,

Wow!! That was a climb! I'd been going up on my hands and knees too - good job you didn't meet someone coming down! think I would've had jelly legs going up the metal ladders! Hello Jenny , thank you for your lovely feedback, I kept trying different ideas on my videos , just trying to gain some interest , pleased you liked it , fingers crossed others will too. The music is always something for me that takes some thought, I always watch my edited version four or five times , before I start to think that the music fits . I have another video in the making , its Ranworth Church , and all those steps to the top of the tower , but what a view at the top! Just noticed another one of your videos , will watch to-morrow . Hello Jenny, this video is a remix of a video I did last year , very skilful carving, it's shorter than the original , this time using music that my son made for the intro and ending . Trying to find music that I can use to introduce and end all my videos , and then use something different for the body of the video . I keep trying 31 subscribers now ! only another 469 to go , then I could earn a shilling. Cheers Jeff

Thanks for the comments , what happen here is someone that was in the parade of motorbikes , ask if I could supply him with the footage only of the bikes so I uploaded the bikes only from the carnival footage , I hope he saw it?. The video for the parade looks to be going well, around 187 views to-date , I wonder if it will reach the same as Cromer Carnival 2023, fingers crossed. I am just working through the Hambleton Lake Side lodges , and Knott 0n Sea , interesting little place , you can get a ferry across the esotery to Fleetwood , then you can get a Tram all the way to Blackpool , would save on carpark costs , doesn't look like you have to pay for parking at Knott on Sea, this place was only 4 miles away from were we was staying , have a good day Jenny and Robert.

Thanks Jenny , little disappointed with some of the content , my camera I used began to get much feed , the music started to become distorted, so I used a alternative sound track , for a while, as you may have noticed . The video at the moment is up to 52 views and counting , would be brilliant if it goes as well as the Cromer Carnival 2023 video , that has almost 800 views. Cheers Jeff

@outandabout24 it's all a learning curve, isn't it. While on holiday, I was using my new dji action 4 camera, and the mic setting messed up on a couple of videos, which was really frustrating so I've now got to learn to put a voice over on the video!

Hello Jenny when the Mike problem happens , I record my voice on my phone , then transfer it to computer via email , I can then download the files to my video editing suite later , that's how I voiced over on the Charlesworth lodges Video . I have another channel called the WMS Shedder , i need to use that method as i am explaining things, al good fun!. Cheers Jeff

Yes great place , we have been there before , but thought this take a camera and do I video, amazing workmanship, it took 150 Yrs to complete, unbelievable. If you can next time you are on holiday in Norfolk , well worth a visit . Take care XX

We stayed at the Grange Leisure Park for 4 nights , great park , ideal base camp , I have made a video of the park , it seems to be going well.
