@@MandeepKaur-wi7sg already tried that. Doesn’t work. I tried throwing the cuckoo into the campfire. getting the aim and trajectory right is tricky, but when I got him in, the cucoo just squawked and jumped out unharmed. Same thing happens when you place him in the fire. I even stood on the campfire while holding the cucoo and the only one who got hurt was ME. Didn’t even trigger a swarm of cucoos. Not really interesting enough to make a video of. …… hmm…….what if a build a circle of fires around the cucoo? ………. (Gonna go try that now.)

What do you mean? Idk what a keyway is. Please elaborate.

@@Dnightshade100 the keyway is where you put the key. From what i could see it appears to be filed out to remove all the warding (the verticle profile of the keyway) I may be mistaken, just stating my observation. If it's not modified at all then I believe you may have actually bypassed the lock rather than picking. Many brass body locks in that size range have an exploit and can be opened with any thin flat tool. By reaching all the way to the very back of the keyway, you can actually engage the locking mechanism itself without ever needing to touch the pins. But your keyway did turn, and the pins must be set for that to happen. With what i could see, i still feel the lock was modified.

@@Druid_Plow ah ok. To answer your question. No, it is NOT modified. I know absolutely NOTHING about locks and how they work. The way I made that pick and picked that lock was all sheer DUMN LUCK, A HAPPY ACCIDENT. I have NO IDEA how I managed that, I even repeatedly picked the lock over and over and I’m still not sure how I’m doing it. I even made two more picks trying to replicate what I did. I made the picks right, I successfully picked the lock with um but I’m not sure how I’m doing it. Wait... (tries picking lock again and then trying doing what you explained) ...huh... pushing the pick in as far as it will go in the center of hole, then turning.... wow... well that explains that... thanks. Though I should point out that I tried this with a door lock and am not getting the same results. I even try making a bigger size pick and not getting anywhere. Obviously cause the lock isn’t the same.

there are plenty of poorly developed keyways... could be that it came like that with a cheapo sheet metal key ...

@@Dnightshade100 sometimes it is better to be lucky. If you're looking into locksport or smithing as a hobby i suggest you check out the lockpickinglawyer and bosnianbill channels. They are 2 of the best out there and give a lot of very good and detailed info about how different style locks are made and function. As Bill says closing out every video, stay safe and stay legal. Have fun with it. I enjoy it as a hobby myself.
