I had no idea at the time who he was and only found out before I uploaded the film a few years ago.He appears a couple of times in the film. Watched Don Leo Jonathan live many times live in Vancouver and actually is my all time favourite. Stood next to him and he was so huge …big arms big legs huge back…6ft 6 …there’s 2 vids where he wrestles Abdullah the Butcher in Japan…but the first match is better than the 2nd…he does a flip 360 from a standing position outside the ring ,right over the turn buckle and lands on his feet in the middle of the ring. He grabs the ropes on either side of turn buckle and then does the 360 from the standing position. At 310 lbs or there about that is impressive. He could also do catnips off the mat unto his feet at that weight. Agile and powerful build. He scuba dived a lot…went hunting …he made knives as well. Wrestled all over the world. His battles here against Gene Kiniski John and Chris Tolos Abdulla the Butcher when Abby weighed 270 ( Vancouver days) Bull dog Bob Brown The Assassins The Kangaroos so forth …we’re great to watch. He teamed with Rocky Johnson and won the tag team belts here in Vancouver as well. God bless him ..RIP Don Leo Johnathan. Oh he wrestled Bruno Sammartino and Bruno said he could not believe how strong Don Leo was…coming from Bruno a powerful guy ya know he was making a point.
