Thanks! I finally realized that if I don't have a high tank count it's not worth trying to break it. I still have problems with air control tho. Yesterday Heromarine streamed with heavy focus on education, and it was a revelation to me. I'll try to implement some of the learnings immediately.

Yes, it was... something else. But I must say I don't really feel good when I play worst than my usual and win. It's a reminder of my low MMR :)

Add me, if you want: wearetheborg#21238 I just played 7 games, 3 of them were vs Zerg. - this season Zerg is the race with more games on my ladder - I have 0% victory victory vs Z so far this season - last season I had around 45% victory against the race - historically I also have 45% of victory against it (93 wins, 110 loses) - historically Z is the second race I played the most on the game, after Terran So the race looks pretty strong, at lease vs me. In general I don't like balance whining. I'm myself awful vs Z and P, but I rather fucus on improving my gameplay. If you like to improve yours let's try to improve, but please keep the balance of the game out of the discussion.

True. A good Terran army to my knowledge needs just enough Vikings to have air control, a bunch of Ravens and then Marine-Tank-Medivac. I clearly failed on one of those things :)

Yes, I knew that I should make vikings. I don't understand why I didn't. High tank count is also good, because he had only Colossus, Stalkers and slow Zealots. Instead of focusing into adapting my army and producing units I was instead fixing the economy, which should have a lower priority at that time. I actually feel good about that game, because fixing my gameplay to win that game is a very easy task, and the opponent was 200 MMR above me.

Of course, being a Gold 2 player, my game changes from game to game depending on the exact mistakes I made :). I already recorded the video that will be released Wednesday, and I have two TvZ where I played a lot better, including wall-offs.

I do shift-click the workers to to back mining after they build. I don't know what point of the game you're referring to, but on this video I used the SVCs to repair, and and it is hard to decide to either move them back to mine of keep them close to repair more. A couple of times I moved them back to run away form attacks. I also sometimes pull them to auto-repair, but I don't think I did it on this game. And finally sometimes when I'm changing the rally point of the army structures I accidentally change the SCV rally point. I'm trying really hard to reduce this mistakes.

@@JTrumpsTerrans idling production units is an even bigger problem. I think I'm improving a lot on this aspect, just not when I'm under attack. I'm waiting to be cheesed again, so I can try to calm down and play on my normal level.

Yeah, thanks for letting me know. I have a desk microphone and a mechanical keyboard. When I'm recording the microphone sits in the front of my keyboard, and the table vibrations cause the noise you hear. Wednesday's video is recorded already, and I used something under the microphone to "cushing" the vibrations. I think it improved a lot, but let me know.

Ok, Initially I was doing that to organize my games, so I could easily find them later, but I don't think I need the outcome of the game for that. I'll try without the outcome starting with the video from the Saturday 9. Tomorrow's video is already scheduled.

Yes, absolutely! I know of a few things that I always get wrong, specially leaking production, being supply blocked all the time and tunnel vision when I'm under attack. Regarding my build orders, vs Terran I just improvise. I try to build and army based on ravens. Vs toss I try to play ruclips.net/video/DvxB2NrzdLo/видео.html and vs zerg I try to play ruclips.net/video/6xJUp8E37h0/видео.html but I don't do the BC part. But I'm open to any kind of suggestion!

1:42 - Mindset - You demoralise yourself at the start of the game and it affects your bravery on the map as well as your attack timings.

@@terranzoid 2:40 - Enemy is not scouting - This Protoss is a moron and could easily be beaten. In reality he HAS to check if you are proxy raxxing him or reaper rushing him. So if your enemy does not scout you like he does here. Just kill him. All-in time. This opens him up to a world of pain from you, his rightful Terran overlord. This means you can kill him by doing a Reaper all-in. You already took both gases and you went double rax with reactors as well, so you had the tools Reactor out reapers as fast as humanly possible and just keep flooding into the enemy base. Commit to the all-in. Chances are that the enemy will (as he did here) expand to a second, and only have one unit to defend (the stalker) and a shieldbattery somewhere. Hit when you have four and keep hitting, fight away from the battery. keep producing, keep all army-ing to bring in the new ones when you do this from the rally. Commit to the all-in and you will win. Remember 4 reapers one-shot a probe and once you get permanent damage in it is buffet time on this dude's liver. This is one way you could EASILY have killed that guy. Not scouting a terran should be immediately punished. You can easily bounce his units with grenades to lower their DPS and outperform him, rolling back wounded reapers to let them auto-heal. The critical thing to remember about the real early game is that you as Terran have map control and you have a much greater production capability than the Protoss does. And that your reapers can regenerate and outpace faster than anything the protoss can amass. So the moment your damage lands on the stalker HP, you have a permanent blow away. And again this will likely be a single stalker at this point. Likely outcome - Super one-sided victory under 5 minutes of gametime.

Yeah, I'm unhappy with my two final TvZ games. I looked afterwards at the state of the zerg, and I could have won the third game, he had basically only the army we see on the screen. My army was bigger most of the time. I think the main mistakes were what you mentioned, plus I had a bunch of marines in the medivac at 43:45 when the mutas attacked, and my micro 43:05 was pretty bad, I shouldn't have lost any marine and finally I had marines on the bunker at 45:15, when I moved to the natural. In the last game I messed my control groups way to much. I already recorded the next video, it's all victories, one of them against mass banes.

I don't think it was that bad. I looked at the replay laster, and in the third game should my drop went to the other side I would have killed all his workers. His army was only at short moments bigger than mine, as weird as it looks. In the third game I made silly mistakes with my control groups, which is very easy to fix. I'm accepting that when I play SC2 I *will* get tilted. I think I would have won both games, should I had played my average game, and that makes me want to play it even more! :)

Yes, when I looked at the first tutorials about how to play the game it always start with hotkeys, mouse and keyboard settings. In one of the tutorials mentioned that I wouldn't have to worry about lots of things if I used grid. I tried and loved it :) At my current stage I'm still trying to develop some good mechanics and speed, which I think is going well. It's still not good, but it's improving substantially. I plan on insisting on it just a bit more, until I get one build for each race consistently executed, then I will add diversity. And your suggestion of having 3 builds for each race sounds like the perfect approach. I could have started with cheese, which would probably put me on a higher rank, but I decided to start with economical builds for all races. I will probably stay longer on lower ranks, but I hope to develop better fundamentals. I'm on SC2 for the long run :)

At 46:30? Well noticed! Well, I wanted to block the drone from leaving. So one SCV was supposed to start it and then leave to do other things, and the SCV building the rax was supposed to finished. But it was a disaster. The drone left when I lift to build the reactor, the SCV left to make the expansion, then I saw the proxy hatch and totally tunnel visioned. I don't make such mistakes anymore.

Thanks! I first lost with my standard 1-1-1 build, then I won with an improvised 2-1-1. But it's not fair, because I knew what he was going to play. Maybe I'll learn a proper macro version of 2-1-1. It should even work better against most rushes.

Oh my god you Terrans are insufferable. The ladder (get this) balances you to 50/50 wins and losses. So it doesn't matter what you play against, it will ultimately come down to that once you plateau.

@@viceroy___ You appear to have a pair of misunderstanding about how the matchmaking works. The most important one is that the matchmaking system matches players with close MMR among all matchups for the race you pick. In my case I have 51% win rate across terran matchups, but 38% on TvP, 63% TvT and 44% on TvZ. You can sEe your own statistics on your portrait, then "Ladders" and "Race Report". I show my own race report in many of my videos. Secondly, the matchmaking system searches for players with close MMR, not close victory percentage. There is a difference because when you get a higher MMR player you will either lose less or win more. Since there is a random factor on who's searching for a game at the same time as you, it is up to chance if you can get a close player or someone higher or lower. Unless you're on the top of the ladder, like clem who has 81% victory on all terran matchups. Also, if you are improving faster you should expect a positive bias. The way you wrote your comment is a bit rude and condescending. I'm a new player and I'll make lots of mistakes on my game and on the things I say, and I'm open to suggestions and criticism. But I prefer them in a respectful ton, please.

I am a true gold, I'm not a high level player smurfing on the lower leagues. What you see is really the best I can give at this point. There is a gold between bronze and GM, I suspect every player went through it at some point. I bet most GM Terrans one day banked some energy, minerals and gas, left production and SCVs and so on. I'm exposing my authentic weaknesses as a player to to the entire world as I try to fix them. I'm sure that from a higher player my game is laughable, and that's fine. Reaching GM may take a year or two, this is also fine. I want this channel to have close to 100% of this story. I think it was Hugh, who got disconnected and said that "resistance is not futile". That's nonsense and a blasphemy! Everybody knows that resistance IS futile.

​@@hellevorst None taken. I don't know what it means for you to have been playing since you were 23. I suspect you've been playing for much longer than two years. It's fine if my own journey takes longer than two years. I'll just keep recording. The biggest risk I see is not having enough time to play. It's also possible that I may asymptotically approach a league below GM. I hope not. We'll just have to wait and see.

I saw a few times you move your marine blok forward as a whole. I would recommend pre spreading them before you move forward. It will help you keep many more alive. Hang in there mate. Yeah, going straight to tanks in the last game saved from the 3 gate blink attack. I think I'll try to alternate between this build and my 2 mine drop build. Most of the times the mines do nothing, but it's probably mostly my fault. Have you seen the micro at 1:51:05 positioning the hellion to shoot 2 units on a line? And at 1:51:00 identifying and correctly reacting to 3 gate blink? And at 1:53:26 pulling the tank back, so it wouldn't die? And 4:37, stunning 2 marines while moving towards a single marine to get him? I play for this kind of moment. You're right about the leaking production, specially while being attacked. At 1:53:34 the 3 gate blink attack was over and I had 1300 on the bank, I started spending immediately, but it was not on making units. I need more APM and better priorities.

Yes, when I read the patch notes I thought exactly of that type of game. But having so many planetaries instead of orbitals is bad for the economy, I expect to eventually be able to take advantage of that. Right now it feels to me like a pretty strong and annoying style because I need tanks to break the planetaries, then I don't have enough to fight the BCs. So I have to pick between tanks and viking-raven. Sometimes I have some success when I kill the third before it transforms into a planetary. Maybe I just need a more reliable early game and scouting. I already recorded the next video, and I'm afraid to say that there are BCs and Carriers. I got a bit tilted.

Yes, you're completely right. I really have a hard time keeping up with everything I have to do. I don't like passive games, so I always try to include some pressure, it makes things fun, but makes it harder to keep up with production. I think my biggest issue is idling my production structures, both for SCVs and units. On that zealot rush game I played worst than usual, which I almost always do when under pressure. I'll put focus on trying to keep up with production. I'll try to incorporate that trick of constantly pressing my production hotkeys to check if things are building. I expect than my first games will be worst, because there will be more misclicks, but I'm sure it will get a lot better later.

I see, It's a new guide from him, I'll take a look. I usually don't watch much winter because of his attitude regarding terrans, but he can play the three races pretty well, I'm sure I can learn a lot from him. Thanks for the tip!
