Cruising with Papa Joe
США
Добавлен 17 июл 2021
Hi, I'm Papa Joe an avid motorcyclist. Been riding over 40 years and always wanted to share what I have seen on the road. I like to tour the countryside and try my best to avoid the cities and freeways. Back roads that are two lane are my favorite as you see more with a lot less traffic and easier to stop somewhere and take a picture. Enjoy going through the squigglies and the straight roads as they both have something to offer. I am located in north central Texas. The camera is a GoPro Hero8. If you have questions or comments please do so as I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks for coming and taking a look and I hope you enjoy the ride!
Update! In 2023 I now use a GoPro Hero 12 and all recordings are in 4K.
Here is a glossary of Texas road titles.
FM - Farm to Market
FR - Farm Road
RM - Ranch to Market
RR - Ranch Road
CR - County Road
PR - Private Road
TX - Texas State Route
US - United States Route

Dallas, Texas Freeways (4K)
Sometimes you just have to use the freeway. As much as I try to avoid it, I did want to get home in time for dinner. Just glad that I beat the heavy Sunday traffic of people going home from the weekend. Started in Seagoville, Texas and this ends north of Dallas, Texas.

The actual ride itself after the safety meeting. Everyone is lined up and ready to go. The escorts and road blockers have already left. The ride started at Strokers of Dallas and ended at American Eagle Harley Davidson in Corinth, Texas. Combat Vets Association did a great job of setting up and running this ride. Thank you to all who participated and donated. Another big thank you to Strokers a...

On Saturday, Oct 5, 2024, the Spirit of a Hero Ride was held. The ride is to help military and first responders, and their families, who have been seriously injured. The support given is not just monetarily but mental, physical and moral. Strokers of Dallas has been the starting point for years. American Eagle Harley Davidson has been the destination point. Combat Vets Association has handled, ...

We continue through the vast farm lands and a couple of small ranches. Trees are becoming more frequent and there are a couple of small towns. Still windy but that helps keep things cooler. Recording Data: GoPro Hero 12 Recorded in 3840 x 2160 4K 16X9 60 FPS Recorded 9/15/2024 Temp 92F

As we leave the big city of Hillsboro, Texas, compared to what we normally go through, we enter the vast farm lands. Never realized how many farms there are in Texas. Go through some small towns and actually get some trees. Then out in the middle of nowhere there is a "S" curve. Sunday ride starting just south of Rice, Texas. Smooth riding through some farmland and small towns. Even the curves were smooth. We cross over the Cedar Creek reservoir and take a break in a bigger town but I like the name. GoPro Hero 12 Recorded in 3840 x 2160 4K 60 FPS Recorded 9/8/2024 Temp 88F

Started out as a nice sunny day when we left the doughnut shop. Then the front came earlier than expected and we were under the threat of rain. But we were too far along and so we continued to the casino. So here we have some small towns, some open land and some nice roads. Justin, Texas to Thackerville, OK. Unfortunately the only bridge over the Red River, within around 25 miles is the Interst...

Continuing the Sunday ride, we leave Gordon, Texas. There is a lot of flat/prairie land and nice views. Get some hills later and go through the Possum Kingdom Lake area. Stopped for a water break in Graford, Texas and had a nice talk with the Palo Pinto County judge. Nice relaxing day. I have always enjoyed going on FM 4 not just for the road but, also the scenery. When I learned that there was a new reservoir to be built, I looked for information. The Turkey Peak Reservoir was going to be built next to Lake Palo Pinto. This will encompass the flooding of areas which include sections of FM 4. Going around the lake would not be possible on the current roads and some great ridi...

Easy ride with some curves and hardly any towns. Enjoyable way to spend a Sunday morning and with it being partly cloudy, it kept the heat down. Recording Data: GoPro Hero 12 Black 16 X 9 3840 X 2160 4K 60fps

Well now that was different and a little scary being on the free way and all. Tunnels with lights were cool!! You deserve a cup of coffee on me. Enjoy!
Thanks. After that I needed a drink! LOL
Thanks Joe for another fine ride taking me along on the back roads of Texas!
Thank you!
This video / ride was very well done! I like it.
I felt like I was there !!
Thank you.
@@cruisingwithpapajoe6395 I did drive by and waved
Good decision!!
Thanks
The s curves were fun!, Agreed a little odd
Great ride what speed do you cruise at?
Believe it or not I do whatever the speed limit is. If it's 55 that's what I do same if it is 65 or 45. I don't need to incriminate myself speeding so I don't. So really there is no set speed.
Those are some ominous looking clouds
Nice Ride Is your cam mounted on your Faring ? I have 1 on my faring & 1 on the chin of my Helmet so you can hear me ramble on & i just added a Rear fender cam for a ride coming up on the 16th where ill have 8 friends riding the back Roads of Northeastern Ontario / Quebec Canada
Yes it is. I also have a camera for the rear, but hardly use it. I find that if the rear camera is used used by itself it gets very disorientating for the viewer. But if you are recording other riders behind you it should work well. I would like to see that when you do it.
Looks like some nice roads i hope to visit in 2025
Let me know. I can show you some good roads and year round riding.
Nice ride!
Thank You!
Nice video! Florida Jim 1018 on from grumpy page.
Thank you!
@@cruisingwithpapajoe6395, no worries brother
Nice ride! What no lunch in Santos?
If you look there is really nothing there except for the gas station. Everything else was closed. Besides, too hot to eat, needed the water.
When you driving thru Floydada?
I will have to put this in one of my rides. But please note, I do not normally plan a destination.
How good were the burgers? Nice ride
They were great! Hand made and hand cut fries.
At one point I thought you were going to get rained on! Nice video
Good ride! I liked seeing the old towns. And I’m a tree lover
So mesmerizing!
Brings back good memories for me biking in the wild. 😊
I'm glad it does.
Cool ride!, I really enjoyed, great job.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very nice ride,
Thanks 👍
Nice to see a ride in less then perfect conditions. Fun to watch
Wow so foggy, low clouds. Must of been a cool ride ! So green!! I
Im in nlr Where ia this?
Sorry for the delay in answering, out riding. This was taken on Arkansas Rte 27 east of Onyx. We were traveling eastbound.
Fast and sweet, never noticed the shorts were in that size. Turn your phone to video tape up and down
I didn't use the phone. That's from the GoPro.
Oh yeah I forgot, I wonder if you can change its position?
Swirl ending! Nice video I really enjoy them and feel like I am actually there.
That looked like a great ride. I imagine the views are pretty good on a clear day.
There are some earlier videos that were taken on a nice sunny day. And yes, the riding there is great. One of my favorite places.
There is always that one car!! It could have been your title!! Hope your coffee was good!! Another nice video
It always amazes me just how flat that area is. Having traveld a few times across I80 I havae seen flat in Iowa and Nebraska, but this seems more flat somehow. Always enjoy the videos.
Great views!
Thanks. Texas does have some great views.
High fog!! Looks like it was a cool ride
Nice views in both directions
Always enjoy watching ride videos from different areas of the country, Such different countryside to ride through
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Mesmerizing! Hope you had a good lunch
Yes it was.
Which part of Texas is that?
This is north central Texas. The area in this video is east and north of Gainesville.
It was fast! Cool how the road and vegetation moves or flows by so fast yet the clouds seem timeless with lack of movement
Very enjoyable ride! I just didn’t like your choice of coffee place, I don’t like gas station coffee
Along the way and what you didn't see was a coffee shop inside. A real one. Also clean restrooms.
@@cruisingwithpapajoe6395 sorry for the insult of gas station coffee . Now I know a coffee shop.
No insult don't worry. You did not have the information.
Very nice and very different! I really like the transition from front to rear view, brought back memories of when I was a little kid sitting in back of the station wagon!
Very mesmerizing!! The black top and mostly from the tree shadows. Nice!!
Very nice!
Lesson learned.hook it up to your bikes battery
This is an early video. The later ones are made with a constant power supply.
I could have sworn we talked about this when I saw you last. Makes sense .
west of san antonio texas is more like the southwest, and east of san antonio more like the deep south
Pretty cool ,diving in the water ! I like seeing all the bikes
Nice ❤✌🏻🇨🇦🎯🫵🏻😎
Thanks!
Nice to see more bikes, more visible this way. Hope your breakfast was good!
Yes it was and the owner bought.
Well, that was BORING...👎
So dark!,,
Another enjoyable video and dude it’s getting dark
Very nice!, I notices you made a pit stop .
To bad your bracket wiggled loose: but I’m sure you fixed it better than before . Oh and I would of liked to of seen a picture of your breakfast!! Before it was eaten. But that’s me, I also love food!
