I'm a NYer and love my state, but am constantly let down by my government. Everything is done for money if it's related to the government. The DEC is known for going after people and grossly overstepping, yet letting the richest companies do whatever they please. I knew they would do something that would blow up, but I never thought it would be a squirrel. I have a lot of friends that have had cars broken into, been attacked, never have environmental concerns taken care of, but they can send cops onto a house to take a squirrel. My state government is absolutely terrible. We had our governor declare a state of emergency during covid so he could get the power of a tyrant. People died, small businesses failed, scuicide spiked, all because we needed to lock down for "two weeks to flatten the curve". My state government will lie to you just to get money, or even just their way.
