Extremely poor driver decision making. In the Military Army Aviation we had an acronym "PDM." Pilot Decision Making. PDM becomes a focus or focal point when a serious crash involving injuries, fatalities or both. Or, no injuries or Fatalities due to God Himself stepping in; but the aircraft has been destroyed. Helicopters do have access to Instrument Flight Rules or IFR. IFR's are preselected flight vectors involving computer generated aircraft "Highways." You plug in the coordinates and simply follow them. Irregardless of whether you can or cannot see. These highways are limited for helicopters due to the limitations of the aircraft. For an example. An aircraft must have the ability to reach and exceed 200 mph in order to fly above 10,000 feet. Ten thousand feet. Only very expensive helicopters can do this. But, they then become limited for flight elevations above 15,000 feet. Mainly due to either a minor ability coupled with pilot ambient air adjustments with minor cockpit/aircraft pressurization. Most capable aircraft are mostly Military and because I value strategic doctrine of lethality and survivability I will elect to maintain secrecy for the benefit of our Active Duty and Reserves/National Guard Flight Crews. Others have done this for us. If however you wish to still know then understand that The United States Military who operate Helicopters ARE Equal Opportunity Employers. Simply do some research on The Military Aircraft Branch of Service you wish to become an employed member...go down to your local United States Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard Recruiting Center. Sit down with the Military Branch Recruiter who you have already have selected and fill out the application. Call ahead and ask what Identification/Personal Documents that will need to produce. It saves time and demonstrates that you are a serious candidate for a position. REMEMBER THIS!!! Even The United States Coast Guard Pilots and Flight Crews are required to fly in dangerous situations. These jobs do carry a modicum of life threatening situations. The Truck Driver no different than a Pilot has to face road conditions including traffic. When a Transport Operator begins to engage in that kind of risk taking behavior has 2 things going on. 1. They haven't participated in a Professional Driver Defensive Driving Safety Course. 2. It's not if he/she is going to be involved in a collision. It's simply a matter of when. Everyone is susceptible to developing poor driving habits beginning with developing a poor driver's attitude. Followed by making poor decisions. You can begin to reinforce those poor decisions by barely getting away with them. But not every driver develops these things. Some drivers from their second defensive driving course on take on a position that they are going to maintain professionalism when it comes to being a Transport Operator. You are correct Sir. I hope that driver or other drivers who are making similar decisions and have an opportunity to read this post; will seek out a defensive driving course.

As a truck driver I can 100% tell you that passing on a double yellow line is always illegal. With that being said, if I were the Amazon driver I would have got on the brakes to help prevent an accident. The truck driver is definitely in the wrong but the Amazon driver could also be more aware.

If there is a straightaway and no vehicles coming, I don't care about double yellow. It's like sitting at a red light for 10 minutes when there's no traffic coming, no different than being at a stop sign at a four-way.
