Funny enough those are actually slightly edited eurasian magpie noises. There is a species of moth that squeaks but it sounds a little different.

@@dyathon No possibility for a digital purchase on steam? Often sidescrollers sell their soundtracks as a DLC/seperate purchase and get alot of extra income that way from fans who loved the game. The soundtrack was utterly brilliant so i'd love to purchase it on steam if given the chance. Somewhere in the 10 bucks range is where most land which is a very fair price imo.
