Sylvan (Animated TV Series) - Afrikaans Audio Intro and Outro (AF Dub and Subtitles)
EDIT 19 October 2023: Subtitles with Afrikaans (Native) and English Added! :-)
Since the Afrikaans version of the show does not seem to exist anywhere in the digital domain, I have taken the liberty of using the video material available from RUclips and added the Afrikaans audio dub from a VHS tape (no longer around) that I made a very long time ago to give fans a taste of how it sounded on our Televisions during the early 2000's if not late 90's.
Sylvan is a Spanish animated series produced by D'Ocon Films and created by Antoni D'Ocon around the year of 1998. Research of the D'Ocon film logo at the intro has shown that it was used anywhere from 1995 to 2003.

1972 Farfisa VIP 400 Organ + EHX Lester K
Просмотров 16 тыс.5 лет назад
This is the demo of my 1972 Farfisa VIP 400 organ. Since I could not find any real material on this seemingly rare organ I decided to show off some of its features before putting it on sale. This VIP400 does not seem standard as explained in the video. It has 2 extra voice sliders and 4 extra switches on the lower manual panel. These sliders dont appear to do much or anything at all, so I can o...
Original EHX Small Stone and Small Stone Nano Comparison
Просмотров 4,9 тыс.6 лет назад
A simple video demonstrating the sound difference between the Original EHX Small stone and the Newer Small Stone Nano Phaser pedals. A friend of mine was very kind to borrow his to me for the purpose of this demo and such :) The image of the spectrogram shows the spectrum of the sweeps between the two pedals, so the Original is on the left (as in the video) and the Nano is on the right. You can...

Yeah well lets just say life over the last 10 years have been one big ol' rollercoaster, but realistically things have only been really going smoothly for the last 5 months. Equinoxe 5 (Cover, rev 3) - 2009

A cover I did for Jean Michel Jarre's Equinoxe 5. This is the 3rd revision done in 2009. This was a fun musical experiment as I was just entering the world of synthesis and multi-layer recording. The tempo might be a tad to fast, but not much, its actually rather close to the original. Revision 4 of the cover has been made earlier this year, which is more accurate both tempo and instrument wise...

Baie baie dankie! Ek het só lank hiervoor gesoek! ❤
Bly ons kon help! Wens ons kon beter gehalte opnames kry, maar al my spore het droog geloop, ek het selfs met Richard gesels en ek kon nie sy ou klank ingeneure opspoor nie :(
I am blown away by the fact that this organ despite being in a remarkable pristine condition, this Farfisa is 4 years older than myself, also liked your presentation showing the sounds and what that white module can do!!👍
What is the song you are playing around 9min in? It’s amazing
Greetings! It's really a generic chord progression, but we used it very commonly back in my early days playing in a Christian Praise and Worship band. Not any particular song but may sound familiar, its a chord progression I use often when just playing casually.
@@DigitalMusicXpress It sounds awesome
I am Japanese. I also have this same thing. However, it is in poor condition.
This is great, but unfortunately only the Spanish dub is available on RUclips. I wish someone would find the English dub or provide English subtitles for the whole series.
The "Slalom" feature, which wasn't very musical, was Farfisa's response to the pitchbendable wheels/levers offered by other keyboard companies: Moog, Arp, etc
Can it be used for Pink Floyd/Deep Purple/Proco Harum sounds? Maybe after some mod? e.g. replacing the silicon transistors by germanium ones? Seems the sound is too smooth for Saucerful
Fafisa's in general has had a much different sound compared to Hammonds and such. This one has a closer "Hammond" sound than normal Farfs if you can use a suitable leslie speaker emulator like I have done here, the Lester K is not the best one out there, but can in a mix add a very useful sound. I am not sure about the replacement transistors mods, Germaniums require a different drive / circuit than Silicon and would take a fair amount of knowledge... I think once again adding a decent leslie sim with drive controls will bring this organ to life!
the flute drawbars dial in some perfect Compact & Continental tones, even more with modulation. In this iteration of vintage 1972 Italian organ, the silicon holds up nicely and gives the option of more tones when necessary. I run mine through tube reverb and it’s superb. I play a ‘66 Compact too with onboard reverb - this compares nicely. Great stuff certainly.
@@wraitheful Thanks for your advise. Any way, I still have time to consider what organ for the studio: just bought a 24 tracks reel-tape recorder, I'm considering all possibilities, even going for an old Hammond B/C Bertram version (portable) as they're much cheaper than the regular ones... Actually, the main issue is often the same as for the 24 tracker, the huge Amek console etc : it's not uncommon having to drive for 600-1000km to get it and a truck and might be needed , as my Renault Clio might not be fit for an organ, not speaking about the weight... Well, that's the issue with the real gear and having real sound: modelling is surely practical but it never matches the real things...
Picked mine up in 1975 and have it to this day with the Leslie 145 speaker.
I'm so glad you did. Thank you. I missed it so much. I only have 2 or 3 episodes on VHS tape
You should try and have them digitised to RUclips, they are a lost gem that even the SABC refuses to release or resurrect... I myself lost my copies that I had, the few...
@@johnny.storm-wolf I will definitely do that, as soon as I get the necessary cable and program. I myself asked SABC about it, and they also refused to give it "due to copy right"... what a bunch of liars they are
@@irisolwagen It is so ironic that in the software world, this would be called "abandonware" because its no longer being used to generate revenue and there is no threat of anyone doing damage by releasing it into the public domain, but yeah, copyright is a prickly thing that actually kills off art more than protecting it... Sadly...

Perhaps a bit off topic, but when I was a kid, we had some model Kawaii organ that we used to mess about with. It's long gone now (sold, I guess), but now that I'm dabbling in music again, I'm just imagining the kinds of fun I could have had with that thing again.
SUICIDE!!!
I had one of these. So very sorry to ever have sold it.
Is this channel still active?
Sadly not as much as I would like, honestly I don't have many ideas for video material at the moment. I am considering staring streams in the future but given that I've lost my job recently, I cannot buy any equipment to get going at this stage.
@@DigitalMusicXpress good luck for your job chase. Btw, congrats for the video from Italy.
Interesting but why do I hear like a stereo reverb in headphones? These units are not stereo and strangely enough it seems to be more reverb on the vintage making it sound better. There's a lag between room sound and line sound so I don't know if that exaplins the "reverb", that the room sound is added to the signal...
Should not really be, I tried to cut over between the audio sources so that we'd get a clean signal coming from the desk directly. However it may be a little bit of a spill here and there :)
Oh my!! I used to love these!!
i loved this show so much as a kid. i would love to get the episodes again.
Sadly as scarce as chickens teeth, trying various avenues to obtain the videos again :)
I only have 2 or 3 episodes on video. I just need to get the right cable and program to digitize it on RUclips...
@@irisolwagen get it for me send or upload
Any luck in obtaining episodes? I’ve been searching but couldn’t find anything in Afrikaans or English
Great one - Very Jean Michel Jarre!!!
He'll of alot more dry signal from the nano. The original has an unusual flair to it. Especially compared to MXR phaser.
Oh my gosh! I remember trying to remember what was this called, 'cause I haven't seen this in a long time! I didn't know this was in Afrikaans, quite surprising to find an Afrikaans furry show!
Indeed! I'd say there where a few Afrikaans dubbed versions throughout the years until recently where people took shows with anthropomorphic characters and gave them a new language :)
@@DigitalMusicXpress Do you remember Brakanjan?
@@alexsaffamerica Oh i do, that was a classic of note!
Really useful and informative video!
I had the Farfisa 470 with a leslie ..damnnnn I miss that sound . I loved the drawbars and the " piano " ...before the Farfisa I owned a GEM portable organ .
Nice, sadly not a very popular organ here, this is the fist one I laid my eyes on and played! I know during the 70s and 80's some local bands used Farfisa professional organs.
Do you have any episodes of this series in English? I would love to see those episodes.
I fear not, I myself have been searching my ass off but nothing. I dont even have the Afrikaans versions anymore since the VHS tapes have disappeard after moving several times.
Video Starts at 3:22
To me it seemed like the nano got lower and higher in volume as it swept through the sound compared to the original, which seemed more consistent. It actually annoys me quite a bit that no modern versions of any vintage gear can sound as good as the original. It's most likely because the original parts are unobtainable because the technologies in the world today have different component needs. I still love my Nano though, it sounds great :)
Thank you!
6:54 WHOA. Portamento on an organ. Quirky but kinda cool. Nice demo of this unique organ.
Indeed, i seem to recall the VIP series of Farfisa is where they got a little, I guess, brave and experimented a little.
@@DigitalMusicXpress Where can I find cosmetic parts for this ? Mine is missing some knobs for the 4 sliders as well as knobs for range and repeat. I don't have the legs for it either. Any help would be appreciated !
@@roccosapareto6409 Honestly, this is a niche enough thing that I'd doubt anyone would be making replacement parts for them now. You're best bet would be if someone has just the old knobs and legs for sale or an unsavable donor organ that has them
@@roccosapareto6409 you'd better print them and label them with a transferable sticker 😅
Dancin' Days by Led Zeppelin used the feature. I forget what model they used but certainly a VIP
Nano is amazing pedal for that money. Tiny price, huge sound
great vid! I think I like them both :-)
They both certainly have their uses! I reckon the small stone nano was perhaps adjusted to cater for guitar sounds and not keyboards with lots of harmonics! The nano when played with guitar sounds pretty good :)
Kind of staccato lead
Nice video! I’m interested in what you mean by the “pass through” - is that the dry signal passing through? Or I’ve read that the nano has a longer pause at the bottom in between sweeps - do you think that’s true? I’m not sure I can hear it here.
Hello. Yes "Pass Through" is when the signal is bypassing the pedal / effect and going from the input straight to the output. I suppose many people have different ways of terming this function, but I suppose "bypass" would be more correct. The nano feels like it has a longer "pause", but this is just because the phasing is not as "deep" as the original (see the spectrogram) and thus it sounds like it is taking longer to sweep back from the turnaround point, creating that illusion since it takes longer for the effect to be noticed. We can however see on the spectrometer that it does in fact sweep without any pausing. Let me know if you have more questions, I am happy to answer as much as I can.
I really appreciate the information. Very helpful, thank you!
Awesome sound, now play Axel F on it ;)
I think i will :D
Awesome video even if I don't own that keyboard!
ek soek die original song
Soek vir "Hantam Lapland" Deur Klipwerf, ongelukkig lyk dit nie asof RUclips n weergawe het nie :(
