But I would love to own a Ford Raptor Pick-up, with a dog and hunting rifle in the back, burn loads of "gas" on the way out into the wilderness to hunt and cook my own dinner (and the dogs)! Freedom of choice trumps any "mocking" you can come up with, and if you object to freedom and choice being more important - go get in front of the tram and take a very close picture ;-)

Interesting. Also, can boots actually "lick" something....the answer is most likely no, but still food for thought, perhaps someone somewhere has an artificial tongue on a boot, but then is that technically the boot doing the licking? And how would it lick a corporation? Would licking a product the corporation makes suffice? Would licking a HQ building? Or would you need to get the boot to lick all board members, perhaps just the CEO would suffice? Either way, thank you for that constructive comment.

We used to have tranportation systems like this back in the 1920"s and 30"s. All fell into diuse as automobils gained in popularity. I can remember in th 1950"s dual elecric/deisel public buses in use. done away with to eventually all deisel.

They didn’t “fall into disuse”; oil companies bought up the transit companies AND SHUT THEM DOWN, in order to force people to buy cars and use gasoline. I get angry when I see lanes being added to a freeway near a city, when there SHOULD be a light rail line running up the middle, carrying thousands of people quickly, cheaply, and efficiently.

You are aware of the enormous land consumption that goes along with it and the costs of maintaining public infrastructure? I won't even start on the follow-up costs of environmental destruction and global warming. If you, as a car driver, had to bear these costs completely yourself, you would quickly demand a walkable city based on the European model. Moreover, in walkable cities, it's easier for people who don't own or can't drive a car - like children, the elderly, and people with disabilities. No, American cities have simply become victims of the car lobby and are only there for cars now, not for people anymore.
