My family's line traces back to Æthelred I through Æthelwold and eventually into Clan Campbell of Scotland, so I always love learning more about this time period!

@Josh Traffanstedt I don't care how they see him. He is a saint for being highly Loved and appreciated by God. God made him a saint. All Catholics believe this. I don't mean he was perfect on earth. But was perfectly made by his days here on earth through Our Lord, Jesus Christ

@Josh Traffanstedt btw that narrative about saint edward was a that of a conspiracy by cult members of King Edgar and eventually led to his death by his stepmother who stabbed him to death. Please do your own research or know what you are talking about before saying something bad about saints or public figures.

Harold Harefoot wasn't the one who captured the Edwards brothers. It was Godwin Earl of wessex who tricked Alfred and blinded him. Some say it was on Harolds command but the source i read say it was of free will to gain favour with the king. Since he invited them back without the kings knowledge
