Hell yes! Sounds way better than stock intake, like oldschool 90s performance 4 cylinder engines! Much recommended.

Yes but you lost power, its better to fit a sport air filter in the box
Even if I did, it's so marginal it's unnoticeable. I'd even say car goes a bit better now, but it definitely sounds a lot better!

@@randomchannel1712 I believe it's because the stock filter and it's housing that I replaced are located far away from the engine in front of the front right wheel in the bumper and have a pipe leading fresh cold air to that area from the coldest area below the radiator. So in theory I have more cold air now having removed the original airfilter housing, making the engine feeling a bit more responsive. I also have absolutely zero issues with the cooling temperatures as well, I believe that has improved a bit too.
Wich ramAir did you get 80mm cone based? The ramAirbsite is only listing the mito. I have the same engine as your Brera in my 159
I've put the link in the description. It is the 80mm one. Connected to a pipe that goes in the airbox in front of the right side (passenger side) wheel. You'll need an o-ring/ziptie to tie it down to the pipe.

Znas li kozda koje je dimenzije klapna gasa na koju ide crijevo? Ili su uzeo kompletan kit?
Iz sjecanja 82 mm je promjer te cijevi na koju se spaja kutija filtera zraka. Ja sam maknuo cijelu tu kutiju i stavio gljivu. Morao sam kupiti selnu od toliko da mogu zakaciti. Na maf senzoru je 85 mm, ali tamo nisam nis radio ali eto ako zatreba informacija.
@@Aesthetporium ja planiram da skinem sve i od klapne gasa nova cijrv maf pa filter ali ne znam promjer kod klapne jer ako skinem i ne nadjem crijevo nmg voziti auto dosta dugo
@@redlinemne a da, nisam ni ja siguran koja je. Samo preporuka da kad se to radi da se filter kao filter pozicionira na isto mjesto di je inace tvornicka kutija jer tamo ima drugu cijev koja dovodi hladan zrak u taj prostor. 2.2 JTS inace radi dosta toplo, pa mu zato treba sto vise hladnog zraka. Od kad sam ovo napravio ovako, radi sve super i nemam primjedbi.

Sta bi rekao koja je najveca mana auta? Razmisljam vec duze vremena da kupim 2.4 JTD sa automatskim mjenjacem, nadam se samo da necu visiti kod mehanicara svako mjesec dana, veliki pozdrav!
Ne znam o 2.4 JTD-u puno osim da svakih otprilike 80000 km treba stelati ventile i da su im glave neki problem. 2.4 automatik ima Q-Tronic mjenjac kojeg svi hvale da je pouzdan. E sada. Upravljivost auta nije toliko dobra. Dosta bjezi preko nosa u zavoju jer je pretezak naprijed. Jako problematican za parking i neko manevriranje po gradu jer se tesko vidi iz auta pogotovo iza i ovjes mu je osjetljiv na rupe itd. Ako bas zelis taj auto jer ti se svidja dizajn itd, onda da, ali, ima puno drugih boljih ponuda na trzistu po meni. Takodjer svi dijelovi estetike kao stop lampe, dijelovi unutrasnjosti su skupi i teski za nabavit jer se proizveo u malo brojeva i nema zamjenskih dijelova.
@@Aesthetporium Nisam nikad imao alfu a imam zelju da izgubim tu tkz. "alfa nevinost" haha, meni je dizajnom prelijep i premocan auto, ali bas zbog toga sto je na tako losem glasu razmisljam dva puta da li da je uzmem, sve u svemu, talijani znaju napraviti zgodan auto, koliko je on pouzdan toga valjda treba da si svjestan dok uzimas ovakvo nesto..
@@halidcrnkic6160 Iskreno, te price o "alfa nevinosti" su prenapuhane, ja sam u isto to vjerovao prije nego sto sam uzeo ovaj auto i iskreno, nije nista posebniji od bilo cega drugog na cesti, a u dosta slucajeva je i gori jer inzinjeri i dizajneri u alfi su fulali u dosta toga. Imam ovaj auto dvije godine skoro i mislim da mi nije nista bolje u zivotu od nekog tko je uzeo nesto svakodnevno poput nekog Golfa ili necega. Auto mi je bio vecinom pouzdan, svaki put je upalio, jedino sam imao problema s termostatom i nekim selnama koje drze cijevi za hladjenje ali kad sam to rjesio, sve je nakon toga bilo ok. Razmislite dobro o tome sto vam je bitno u autu i sto zelite uzeti, zelim vam srecu u potrazi. Lijepi pozdrav.
Are these reliable? i'd consider getting one but will also sometimes be using it on longer routes (200-300 km). i'm thinking this or Hyundai Accent of same age...

@@safetyfirst5917 Wow, that sounds great! How was the comfort on longer routes? We had a Twingo and after say 6+ hours in the thing, you'd feel it. Didnt feel as much with a bigger car.
@bluemoondiadochi the standard seats are pretty hard but I have these beaded seat covers and with those it was fine. I'm quite tall and the space inside is adequate for a road trip

no problems with water getting in the intake ?
No problems at all, the intake is actually quite high enough and since it's shielded by the plastic undertray, it's perfectly fine. I drove it in very heavy rain with puddles and had no issues.
@@Aesthetporium mmh, plastic undertray? did you keep the original housing for the old filter and put this one inside ? I thought that below the ramAir would be nothing..just the asphalt.
@@Aesthetporium another question :) do you feel any gain/loss of power, quicker trottle response , etc? because you get more straight air getting rid of all the original piping but you get hotter air also right?
@@davidBarrel I removed the original filter housing and just put the ramair onto stock pipeline.
@@davidBarrel I think it's pretty much the same driving wise. I didn't get rid of original piping, just the box where the factory filter goes in. The duct that leads air to that area is still there. The whole setup is in the front of the front right wheel away from the engine, so no hot air there. Just cold one. I say it cools better now than it did before in my opinion.

Koliko km si presao? Kako te sluzi? Razmisljam da uzmem jednu 2007 sa istim motorom za nekih 5000e, pa ako mozes reci isplati li mi se uzimati je? 130k na satu presla. Hvala
Trenutno na satu oko 137500 km, ja sam je kupio sa 127000. Imala je problem s termostatom koji sam zamjenio i jednom je selna koja drzi cijev hladjenja popustila. Osim toga stalno izbacuje gresku za lambdu sondu, iako su na autu oba dvije nove. Prekjucer bio na tehnickom prosla bez problema. Za 5000 eura se isplati uzet auto, ja sam svoju koja je 2006-to platio 6700 tu u Hrvatskoj prosle godine. Samo moras imat realna ocekivanja od auta, nije sportski, dosta podupravlja u zavojima jer je auto tezak i previse mase ima naprijed. Mjenjaci na njima su temperamentni (m32) i iskreno, meni mjenjac ubije dojam o cijelom autu jer iako isto saltas, nekad je sve glatko a nekad auto cukne, iako sam stavio gusce ulje do cepa da se bolje podmazuje i hladi. Prosjecna potrosnja 11-11.5 litara na 100 km. Treba razmislit dobro, auto je lijep ali sto se tice vozackog dijela, postoji puno bolje.
@@Aesthetporium Trenutno vozim Polo 1.9sdi, tako da sa vozaceve strane ne moze biti gore.. haha A necu iz principa da vozim Audi, Skodu i ta genericna vozila. Mislim Brera je auto kojoj i plava boja stoji fenomenalno, toliko je lijep auto. Hvala na odgovoru, mislim da cu je uzeti pa sta bude.

Posto sam visok 195, a vele da auto nije bas za visoke ljude, bi rekao da stanem u auto ili ne?
Mjesta za noge ima koliko hoćeš jer se sic može pomaknut dosta nazad. E sad auto ima dosta nisku šajbu, kao što se vidi, ja s go pro-om jedva uhvatim kut za snimanje, a visok sam 178 cm. Vozio sam jednom suputnika koji je visok isto oko 195 i on je stao u auto bez problema, ne znam dali bi mu bilo ugodno i za volanom... Treba probat i vidjet.

@@mh-rl4sz Na 110 je na nekih 3300 okretaja, na 130 je na nekih 3700-3800 koliko me pamcenje sluzi. Meni je prosjek potrosnje oko 11.5 litara na 100 km. Rekao bi da grad trosi i do 14 litara, a izvan najmanje mozda oko 9 i to mozda. Na autocesti dosta pije dosta.

Great car, are you sure you have a problem with the lambda? The mil light on this car could mean the elongation of the timing chain
The timing chain and all the components that go with it were replaced 15000 km ago. The car reeks from exhaust and even after having two new lambdas on the car, it didn't change and still throws out the check engine light. This must be some wiring issue that I still haven't solved.
@@Aesthetporium try changing the two solenoids and the two camshaft sensors and the crankshaft sensor also, for me it worked, I changed the timing and balancer chain 27000km ago ...also check the PCV membrane, sometimes the injectors also go bad, if that happens change the whole intake manifold with them ;) also the head cover seal tend to go bad and cause problems with the VVT and intake/exhaust.
Yeah, I don't think I'm doing that. Too expensive, and it passed it's yearly inspection without problems.
Very nice modern premium executive sedan built to make many miles. It still has some classic old school features like analog cluster gauges. The mighty and reliable 2,2 CDI makes it a desirable Bosnian dream car.

Je, motor je glasniji jer auto ima jako kratak odnos brzina. U 6-toj na 100 km/h je na 3000 okretaja, na jedno 140 je na oko 4000-4200 koliko me pamcenje sluzi i sukladno s tim potrosnja a oko 12-14 litara na 100. Nekad i vise ako je uzbrdo.

When you're driving the car, the throttle response is pretty much instant yes. Only situation when there is some amount of lag is when you're moving from a stop in first gear, then the throttle behaves quite delayed.

Yes. Everything stock except the old filter housing with the filter inside has been replaced by the cone air intake. It still looks factory because it's located in the bumper in front of the right wheel. Pipes are stock and ECU map is stock as well. I went this setup because of Croatias very own strict vehicle technical inspection once a year.
@@Aesthetporium Thanks. In Serbia it is also very strict, but remaping is fine because they can't tell. On the other hand, aftermarket exhaust is usually no allowed here... Stock map on these engines is not very good. Stage 1 would make around 200 hp, and fix the low rpm torque dip. Also should use a bit less fuel. That is what I will do when I get mine next year. How much did you pay for yours, btw? Because when I started collecting money for it, it was about 4.500 and now two years later it is 6.500 euros. -_-
@@DashCamSerbia I paid for mine 6700 euros on 30th August 2021. Nowadays I'd say it's worth around 8500 euros in my country, cars here have always costed a bit more than in Serbia. To really get everything out of JTS you kinda need to rev it almost to the limiter. The car is quite heavy for that engine. Even in things like overtaking you need to be prepared to downshift and just slam the pedal to the metal. As much as I hate to say it, diesel is probably better for the Brera as it has instant torque and is more relaxing to drive which kinda suits the cars character more. I wish they've put the 2.2 JTS in smaller cars like Giulietta for example.
@@Aesthetporium Danm. -_- Yeah it need to be revd, but it makes it a sporty engine. Should be somewhat easier to drive when remaped. 1.75 TBi would pull it easier on the low/mid revs, but they cost twice as much, if you can find one. Even 2.2 there is only a single one in the whole country for sale...
@@DashCamSerbia Not saying you shouldn't get one if you have the chance. Just be realistic in your expectations and yes, it will average between 9-12 liters of fuel depending how and where you drive it. I didn't have major issues with mine, I only needed to replace the thermostat and that was about it when it came to "breakdowns". Regular maintenance is cheap like it's a normal hatchback. If you have any questions you can always ask me.

E niente non capisco perché si lamentano del motore. A me pare un gran motore!
Scusa per il mio scarso uso dell'italiano, è perché uso google translate per rispondere. Il motore è davvero buono per la guida sportiva, gira come un matto e suona alla grande. La affidabilità d'altra parte è discutibile. Ho avuto problemi di perdita di liquido di raffreddamento due volte negli ultimi 9 mesi di proprietà, ho avuto anche una perdita di olio. Amo ancora guidare questa macchina e ho ancora intenzione di tenerla per un po' di tempo.
Una una Brera 2.2 da qualche mese. Dunque il motore ha un'erogazione particolare: uno spunto quasi cattivo ai bassi, una buona coppia ai medi ma poi gli manca allungo. In pratica anche nella guida allegra ti viene voglia di cambiare marcia a 4.500, perché poi da l'impressione che anche se insisti la spinta non cambia. Nel complesso è un motore molto lineare, e ormai la gente si è abituata alla spinta dei motori turbo, quindi a meno che non si sia degli estimatori del motore aspirato, si può rimanere delusi. Inoltre consuma davvero molto in rapporto alle prestazioni. Di positivo ha però un suono piacevole anche con aspirazione e scarico di serie.

I never felt the need for more. 8.5 seconds 0-100 kmh (0-62 mph) is plenty imo. Overtakes never been an issue as well. Car pulls well in all gears because the gearbox is quite short rationed. At 100 kmh (62 mph) in 6th gear the engine is turning 3000 rpm almost, so, there is that.
