Signing Off is a result of the determination of a friendly group of musicians and UB40 fans, bringing a fresh new tribute dedicated to replication of the live sound of their idols - UB40. Signing Off have even been praised by UB40 themselves for not just playing the hits, but playing songs that only hardcore UB40 fans will recognise, with UB40 founding member and guitarist Robin Campbell saying "We probably have more tribute bands than anyone going. One in particular, aptly named Signing Off, has had the approval of UB40. We know the guys in Signing Off quite well. I have known them for years. They are raving fans."

Do you know what exact tone generator & patch Brian used on Kingston Town with his WX-5 or WX-7 from earlier years iv been seriously searching for years & am at a complete loss
@@samatutahi4032 we are lucky enough to have the original live voice for both Sing Our Own Song and Kingston Town, UB40 said the sound is customised to sound as close to the original record as possible. I’m not sure if they ever used a Yamaha tone generator, I do know that the WX5 is plugged in to a keyboard on stage and that is where the voice comes from.

People always say that Ali made UB40 , if you pay attention and look back at their concerts Neither brother takes front stage Robin and Ali always stood, side by side together, I have been to Man many concerts and what i realised is that the band made also made UB40 if you actually listened the voice of Ali Campbell could resonate , but without the original band behind Him... It's just not the same what people also don't know is that Ali got the band instruments from compensation he got from being slashed in the pub if you look at one of their first videos here I am baby you can see exactly what I'm talking about and sometimes the fans can ruin things and I believe that was the case with these guys...
Not quite sure what you're getting at here but Alis compensation bought his guitar and possibly a trumpet. Everyone else bought or acquired their own. Although Alis voice was distinctive, he ultimately left the band to pursue a failed solo career. UB40 was always a band of equals, not 1 person. Signing Off is dedicated to tributing the sound of UB40 the band. Past & Present. To date UB40 s biggest loss was the enigmatic Brian Travers.
Also Here I Am is from 1990, the band started in 78 so it's hardly one of their first songs.

@thewailingwailers1022 Incorrect. "Here I Am" is from the Labour of Love album 1990. "So Here I Am" is the song you are referring to on UB44. That is a different song.
