Radiohead - Paranoid Android (odm Utrecht)
This was a graduation assignment for my study: music in education at the Utrechts Conservatory. Every student arranged a piece, which started months before the performance. All the Utrecht students from the music in education study joined in the choir and orchestra so I knew what kind of instruments I had to arrange for. I love the wide range of instruments in Paranoid Android and I think the place in the Conservatory was the right building for it with the acoustics. I was inspired by the cover of Noordpool orchestra but also gave it my own twist.
We had a week to rehearse it with the orchestra and choir. Each day about 40 minutes, starting on monday and perform on friday. So I did my best...

I like how she is trying to do Thom's figure 8 with the head. Woo hoo. But the guy with the man bun doing the shaker is the best here. Some of these young kids are great musicians...he is someone's mate with no musical talent whatsoever but shakes his little thing to the tune to back up the drum dude. Brilliamt.
Good...the lead singer does look like Thom and a real 'arty nerd type' but...what let's it down is the lead guitar which is so powerful in Radiohead version but weak here.
i cry
I am Lorde ya ya ya??? That's the only part I don't like is the chorus. Why ya ya ya ya?
Es genial
Magnifico
We’re going to get this video to 1M views even if I have to do it all by myself. I’ve been coming back to it again and again for at least 4 years now. What a composition and performance! And all of it put together in just one week. Sometimes the best things come about when you don’t have enough time to overthink it.
10/10 cover 🔥
WOAH.
wow
❤️

Goosebumps!
I came across it last year and without a doubt I stop by here every month. The reason why I love this video as much as the real song is undoubtedly the amazing orchestra in the background. I can't imagine this orchestra playing karma police or fake plastic trees.
Y la guitarra electrica? Xd
Spot on.
this is insalely good
Thom really educated us all...
absolutely beautiful
indeed
Bravo...
Just brilliant.
This is a really great effort by students to play something they learned, once they got into it, was really complex. Pop music it ain't.
I actually teared up at this.
Still, the percussion needs to lead everything else. Not follow.
3:23 is one of the most beautiful versions of this part of the song I've heard.
Bravo. 👏👏 Fantastic song and perfect performance. Love it.
This is so incredibly awesome!!! What an experience for you. Very well done 🤘
👋👋👋👋👋
Raining down on moments that were different may not be necessary. Because whatever.
Does anyone else feel like it doesn’t do justice?? Very cool nonetheless and top notch but where’s the chaos? Where’s the destruction? Where’s the mania? Where’s the rollercoaster of emotions?
I agree, feels like theyve sanded off the edges that made it good
Hello. This video just came up on my feed. Very well done. I am enthralled and would love to know where music has taken you since this video.
I like the singer's passion, but it really needs a male voice. When Thom sings it, it is near the top of his range, so it causes it to come out strained and compressed. Her voice is too relaxed, as it is near the center of her vocal range. Just my $0.02.
A great piece of music
Still trying to learn and sing this with my acoustic guitar
Wow,25 years later they are playing his shit in the orchestra. I knew ai had good taste in music.
Goosebumps! Damn!
I came back to see this a few days after I first saw it. It’s that good 👍🏽 ❤
4:00 the back vocals are incredible Love Radiohead❤
Yeah it takes an orchestra to cover those guys!
Holy fucking shit. Some of the decisions they made are brilliant (the little injections of jazz). This is damn near as heavy as the original. Well done. Beautiful.
remarkable cover
Wonderful rendition!
This cover is a masterpiece.
πανεμορφο, αριστουργημα
Superb version! Great arrangements! 😮👏👏👏
Extraordinary
😍😍😍
Just love this so much. Can't believe it took me so long to stumble on it.
God loves his children..... that's why he kills them............ original lyrics
