I’ve been trying to fill in the blanks because one minute I was feeling hot and the next minute I see Fran right in front of my face and I was so confused! As a previous photographer, I have to say all the old acts had their best pictures taken years ago. Don't fool yourself into thinking you're going to take an important photo. So then it's just for yourself and how many pictures of old rock stars two generations older than you do you really need? As far as young bands, that may be different. Get the photos that matter of stars before they are stars at parties, schools, and small concerts. People there won't care as much, and if they do, they'll let you know and you'll have an experience. BTW, phones are still nowhere near as controllable in a concert environment as a real DSLR, although some apps are making them better, but you better learn how to make your camera have fast shutter speeds, or you're just going to have trash. Plus phones are lousy at fill-in flash, a real staple of concert photography.

THis is depressing. If I had gone to that show, it would've really bummed me out there were so many phones there. I'm neck deep, even underwater, in modern technology, but I am not of the young generation, and I have recorded discretely at concerts sure. I ALWAYS make sure the phone is not above my head, and within inches of my face, so as not to bother others. I have to admit Ihave recorded entire songs, usually of lesser known groups, or in foreign places, but I can't imagine going to a major name and blowing it for others around me. This is really appalling, to have the audience lit brighter than the act, and to have all that light coming back at me. Whatever happened to total darkness at concerts? What happened to the lighting designer controlling the lighting?

What does that say about neurodivergents?😡

Fact: people who record concerts never watch the stuff they filmed ever again, they just do it because they're stupid

for some reason after all these years, his song now reminds me of Lungfish from D.C. that preceded them. Back when one would have to work to find good indie music - that said luckily can find far more here now, the cassettes are long gone. Thanx for putting this up.

At last some artists are now doing this,GOOD. What's wrong with using your memory to relive the show? Huge disrespect to the artists who put on a LIVE show, (yes LIVE) It'll be a huge improvement in a shaky horrible sounding phone recording, or have both if you have memory problems, buy the professional produced DVD. Idiots. The resistance to putting the Phone down is huge because the people doing it are of a generation who don't know any better (but curiously, the artists do !). The artists unfortunately are on a hiding to nothing 'cause the smartphone is an addiction, like a drug, and history will tell you, try to take a drug off an addict...... enough said. Reply

Don’t have a problem with it. I’d record as much as I could so I can revisit again in the future.

Recording knowing damn well that video won’t ever be used again or watched outside of the next day story post.

I only ever did this once. Playing back the clips, I realised it lost everything - you couldn’t hear the performance over the crowd, the bass was clipping and it was shaky as hell. But the worst was the loss of the feeling of being there. Nothing captures that. So I don’t bother.

Personally I have really bad eyesight and when I go to concerts I’m not usually super close to the stage, so if I want to see anything the artist is doing, I’ve found it’s best to use my phone camera and zoom all the way in. It’s more enjoyable to me to be able to not only hear them, but to actually be able to *see* them perform.

It’s all going on their social media pages because that’s the most important thing in people’s lives today.

My first concert i used an S22 Ultra to zoom in on the stage and watch EVERYTHING in detail. They just so fast away 😂

Every time I film something I do from the hip cause aiming feels kinda cringe
