As discussed in the video, we purchased this and now have to replace all four motors after about two years of ownership. Just understand if you purchase this, you will have to replace the motors at some point, and they will likely fail after the warranty. They are very expensive to replace and the generic ones you can find on Amazon do not fit.

John Deere Transaxle Slipping $40 FIX!

My X340 equipped with the K58 Transaxle was useless with the transmission overheating and slipping. I found a GT235 that was flooded for $100. I robbed the K71 Transaxle out of it then turn and sold it for $80. Bought a $20 belt from Tractor Supply and she is better than factory. The K71 is 10 times the transaxle the K58 ever was.

I talked to the guy who makes them and he said it would be fine. Haven’t had any issues but it doesn’t get drove much,
@@Southtexasduckhunter I know lc engineering TELLS YOU to swap the valve train components when you go anything about their pro efi or torquer camshaft and the demon is within their stage 3-5 spec cams… I’d assume that you should swap the valve train components when you do the cam, lc also makes a pro rocker setup. Has the “pro series” rocker bars. Has 4 larger oil holes instead of 2 small ones. Helps a lot.

That's the best part of Toyotas like the R series. They are all forged steel rods and cranks from the factory. Aftermarket delivers H beam and other features...but factory can handle more than most squeeze out of these engines. Just hold a 22R rod next to a SBC rod.😮
I am working on mine using the same camshaft like that, KB pistons, headers, double timing chain kit from LCE performance
The 22r is an amazing engine some of these cammed ones sound like small block chevys 😂
Where did you get the hose for the PCV valve?
It’s just fuel hose with pinch clamps. Aka single ear clamps.

what other muffler do you suggest on a 22RE. Deep aggressive tone
Don’t know much about mufflers. But I have a 22re stock muffler and I have my cat too but I did get long tube headers which made it slightly louder and it deepened the tone a pretty good amount. I plan on getting a high flow cat which is going to make it a lot louder hopefully deep and aggressive.

@@fiys567 mines stock too, cat is still on. Sounds nice but I want aggressive deep tone just like this. but I haven't installed the beast camshaft yet until I buy the rest of the stuff I need which should be the long tube headers, cold air intake, and new muffler
@@robertyota that’s essentially my build as of now headers and intake and that’s it I plan on doing my cam pretty soon going to port and polish my head and get a cam from LCE honestly not too sure who I should go with for a cam. Also gonna go with the high flow cat cause no cat will smell too much and a high flow cat is basically negligible from no cat regarding performance. A high flow cat will also be a lot louder so personally I’ll most likely be sticking with the stock muffler.

Mine runs great with the beast cam, sounds awesome also. You could have vacuum leaks or timing issues, possibly low compression. Mine is a fresh build.

@@robertyotaYea it’s legit I got it too. I got the intake pipe off lce and just the maf adapter and filter off ebay. I would run a K&N filter though.

Cause 282/440 is more aggressive then the other redline cams but when it's on a truck its not as aggressive as your own and I'm guessing you timed it

22res are fuel injected, 22r's are carbureted However with a good setup both of them can be very choppy with a good cam

It runs great with the cam. Pulls more RPM than the stock cam. Nice choppy idle. Really no noticeable loss in power down low accept right off idle. I have 5.29s and 35s and it will pull 85 on the highway pretty easily. Wouldn’t do that with the stock cam. Keep in mind I have a fresh 20 over engine.
what other changes did you have to make to the valvetrain? I like the sound!
None. All stock valve train just a fresh worked head and rebuilt bottom end.

Does float pods help with shallow running?
If your already on plane no. But they help draft shallower so you can jump up in shallower water in theory.
What happened to your hood? Yesterday I bought a x340 with 170 hours on it at estate sale for $1500, man past away here in northeast Texas, Pittsburg Texas
Those hoods are fragile. That hood had been patched several times. Once they get brittle it doesn’t take much to break them.
Clever swap! The K71 has two filters with two compartments, the painted steel inline hydraulic filter and its refill is a bit tricky to get at. I decided to pull the seat and gas tank off to get at the fill cap, but a short length of flexible tubing would work too. the pleated filter by comparison couldn’t be easier to replace Together the two filters were around $90 from the dealer + 5 quarts of oil, I found out the hard way that changing both of them at the same time is a good idea unless you have about 8oz. of oil to top off the plastic reservoir. Aside from that, the K71 is strong unit that will climb a steep incline
