No direction on protecting stone?!
thanks for great tips for beginner! secret of this powder was a big stop on my way!
You didn't finish it and this is a terrible technique.
What if the wire gets oxidized from the heat? Maybe it’s because I’m using a natural gas/ oxygen torch? If I pickle then the shine will go away
Are these possible to make durably without a solder? Like DIY craft store?
Love it. Thank you.
☹️ "Promo sm"
Beautiful!
❤
So the water quenching hardened the steel. When did he do the tempering?
At the end of the video that we couldn't see nothing because you were too far away and your hands are in the way
I can’t figure out if these videos are for consumers or students. These are too short for students and if its for consumers , it doesn’t make any sense to add the tools list. 👎
Hi! This video is for students, and it's a preview video. The full length video can be found on our website. The tool list is to show what you will need in order to complete the technique in the video. We thought that would be helpful before starting the full length video - basically to check to make sure you have everything you need.
Do not trust this company! They advertise that while buying a ring online is crazy without seeing it they guarantee happiness w the product. This is not true! Not only were we not happy with our ring and stone in person, but they refused to allow us to exchange or rerun the stone. They were very rude and said our only option was to sell ourselves. Here’s the really shady part: They sold us what they “claimed” was a Brazilian alexandrite (alexandrite from Brazil is triple the price as other regions) but the certificate had no origin. When we asked for origin after they said that they don’t believe in origin on certificates because it’s just an opinion. Convenient they are happy with their own opinions when it allows them to charge triple but not to actually back their own opinion with a legit certificate. They refuse to pay for origin certificate let alone work with us to find a new stone. Awful shady company will be reporting to business bureaus! Do not buy such a big special item from such an exploitative company.
Umm you didn’t show how to do it
Hi Mac! Apologies - this is a Preview video. The full video will be available on Ganoksin shortly. We will update the description with the full video when it's posted.
This is way too much not helpful at all
Hi! It's actually quite involved to repair an earring post properly.
Gah I wish you could teach me

I love it. All the bits and pieces I’ve needed
I had never heard that info before, thanks.
Great tip!
Glad it was helpful!
Useful video thank you. ❤
You're welcome! We hope it helped you improve your skills! 😊
Thank you for this video. Greetings from Rome
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching!
Lovely..
Hi. I need to fill or layer the back of a earring which is empty by design & it scratches my skin. How much u think this will cost in USA, Florida state? They r 14kt gold. Cheap earrings, since they r light weight & small.
Very professional sounding.
Thank you!
Oh i thought I just brought some wire (mine needs to be magnetic) and used plyers to shape it into a filagree shape, I thought that was it I don't have all that other stuff
Thank you very much!
Ganoksin is a tremendous resource for jewelers. I have learned so much. I learn every day from the forum and enjoy all the content available to me as a gold member.
Please describe what you are calling "savings solution?"
Thanks for the tip! How would we achieve this without access to a machine like that at home? What sort of blade and machine is it and what service should I look for to have this done?
Are you still teaching classes? Do you teach online? Thank you. Now I see why I ruined the earring settings fur my sons earrings. Sideways? Would that be appropriate for a thinner earring setting? I see those ring claws are quite thick. Paddy Peters

American jewelers use mm gauges, too. Lol
Thanks
Amazing what can be achieved from the simplest elements. Many thanks for shareing
Thank you.😊
Great tutorial! Do you solder the bail shut as well?
What are the 40 paper what fine grit is that?
Why do you not use carbide bits if they are the better bit stone grits won't sharpen them.
I truly appreciate your videos about making our own tools. It’s something that I’ve always enjoyed doing.
I think your editor, edited and omitted your tutorial….

🍺 🍻👌
I have been wanting to try filligree. Now I can. Thank you
Hi, can you share the formulation in gram for the solder if we need it soft solder?
Milt uses easy solder which has 65% silver in it. You could go lower to Extra Easy solder which has about 56% silver content, but I would not go any lower. Solders with lower silver content tend to discolour the filigree as they are not a shiny silver colour. To make 100 grams of Easy powder solder Fine Silver-65 grams, Copper 20 Grams, Zinc 15 grams To make 100 grams of Extra Easy powder solder Fine Silver-56 grams, Copper 22 Grams, Zinc 17 grams. Hope this helps!
Thanks for this video, it's the only one I've found describing how to make the solder
You're very welcome!
Can you please make another video on your technique for making the zig zag filigree wire? thanks
Hi! I will pass this along to Milt. In the meantime, you can view his other filigree videos here: www.ganoksin.com/topic/jewelry-making/premium-videos-by-milt-fischbein/. He is also doing some exclusive workshops for Ganoksin in January 2024. Sign up for our free newsletter to get more information on those classes!
What would a jeweler typically charge to add a safety chain?
Hi 😊 I have little gold beads from my grandma's ring that broke a while ago. Do you think it's possible to use those beads to downsize another ring I have? Or are special beads needed? I wouldn't do it myself of course but rather bring it to the jeweler.
Thanks for sharing! Got it subscribed😁👏👏👏👏🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👋
Thanks for the sub!
Wish it was more detailed.

So simple, any design CAN be achived!
So true!
I am a metal engraver and use carbide chisels. Can this paste be used to polish and sharpen my chisels? what is a good choice diamond paste or iron powder?
