Hunt Trap Fish !
Добавлен 31 окт 2019
I didn't grow up in a hunting family, but once I got my feet wet, I found a passion for it. From catching blue gill to beaver, from smoking wild pig hams to curing salami, we do a bit of everything on this channel!
Hunt Trap Fish !: Season 5: Episode 2: Trapping Fur
Fur trapping is a grind, and so far we've picked up 2 coon and a skunk. Hopefully there's more fur in the future.

Oct 15th is one of my favorite days of the year. Usually the weekend of the split here in WI's duck season, what better way to get out and enjoy some fall weather with your family than to go set up a raccoon and canine trapline? My MOM even came with us on this first set!

I love the WI Rifle season for white-tailed deer. The farm that I have been lucky enough to be invited to the last couple of years is always productive, and this year I was able to take 3 deer home to fill my freezer. Typically I don't shoot three because we have enough left over from the previous season. However, that was NOT the case this year. Because I only shot 2 last year and had planned ...

One of my all time FAVORITE ways to make venison. So approachable for others and the creamy pasta is just... chef's kiss! Full Recipe: 1. Bring the venison (I prefer steaks but use whatever you want) up to room temp and season GENEROUSLY with your choice of steak seasoning. 2. Add 1 TBSP oil and 1 TBSP butter to a cast iron skillet over med-high heat and wait for the pan to smoke slightly. 3. A...

As I start to add ducks and geese to the freezer, it's important to use the ones I have left from last season. These Canada Goose legs came from one of the birds we shot last year, and the snow goose breasts came from our NoDak hunt last fall. If you haven't watched those videos, I'd highly recommend them, to give you an idea of what an average group of guys can expect out there. I've never bee...

@hunt_trap_fish You're welcome. My friend I visited your channel and I notice that your video content quality is very good. But due to optimization problems, the videos are not getting more views and subscribers and not reaching the right audience. It would be best if you fixed it. Best wishes ❤️
@ if I could figure that out, I’d be ecstatic
@@hunt_trap_fish Feel free to let me know if you need any help with optimization, my friend.

I just put mine together yesterday. I first set the inner plate the same way you did but after looking at it and determining something doesn’t add up here, I then went back to the installation pamphlet and noticed you have to set the two empty grooves on the plate to the left side of the smoker. It should be a decline of 4 degrees I believe. That way your grease and oils will drip to the right side of the smoker.
@@joseph9718 yeah I learned that the hard way for sure
That's great! Thank you, I will make use of all items, the knife and trap setters were on my list of supplies to acquire for this upcoming trapping season, and the lures I will enjoy with my son. Still enjoying your content. The smoked pork looked great. I will have to create an instagram account, unless you want me to send you my email?

@@oochiguapo I have one for filming longer-length stuff; it just doesn’t accept / hold my iPhone lol!
How big of a crock pot did you use, mine looks like it may be too small for this. I may need an upgrade. Good video, thanks for sharing.
My pleasure! I use a standard crockpot off the rack from farm n fleet! This is our old one. The tallow can leave a bit of a residue, even if you put it through the dishwasher
Ok, thanks!
Amazing video
Thanks for watching!
Great video, still enjoying your content. Was the tallow all from one deer? Can you use it in place of beeswax for a salve?
This from about 5 different deer; and it’s about half what I was able to save. So I’ve got another big batch to make. And yes, you can replace beeswax w this!
@@hunt_trap_fish awesome, thanks.
Bro thought he was about to die 😂
That stop it going to tear your hand up though
It’s a really smooth piece of antler underneath - I do need to figure out if I’m gonna grind it down to even w the spine though!
DAMN Good Job
Thanks! Definitely felt like a beast-to-almost-beauty transformation lol
Would like to see the whole knife.

Thank you! Hopefully they’re not offended at the monstrosity that thing is right now 😆😆
Hey there, As a lifelong hunter, I process my own meat. Here’s a great tip for processing ground venison. Go to your local grocery store and buy non-lean (fatty) ground beef and ratio 1/3 of that fatty beef w/ 2/3 of ground venison. It eliminates the need for butter to cook. Also it takes any “game” taste out of your kill. Either way, I still want you on the grill!!!🤘🏻 Great video!!
This is actually about 10% feral hog trim and 90% venison. As a WI-ite, I love that “Culver’s Butterburger” taste! Plus the Blackstone is a new addition as of May, so it still needs seasoning up! I always process the vast majority of my critters; the grinding and packaging of trim is something I take to a local butcher. They’re much faster, much neater, and I love supporting my local small-town family owned butcher shop. They do an amazing job for an amazing cost, so for us, it’s worth it!
Brother that shit right there is making me hungry 😂🙌🔥🦌
Glad to hear it!
sounds dope
Thank you!!
id like to see it
Plan is to get that all worked up this evening!
That’ll look great
Thanks so much!!
I cant use GG any more
Yeah I really wish I had looked a bit closer. It didn’t dry hard enough - it was still tacky so now it’s back to the hardware store! 🤣🤣🤣 The forging / fit / finish has been an incredibly rewarding learning experience though so I’ll keep at ‘er
What's the Dremel and the sanding tool doing there
I had a bit of a blow out on the glue up - so the pin was sticking out creating a hot-spot. I used the dremel on a slowwwwww speed to round the pin over and get rid of the hot-spot!
Your bottom plate is too low. Pick it up and set it in the grooves on the left side
I did the exact same thing.
@@apcandles1206 thank you so much! I will do that tomorrow!

Put the jalapeños in the pot with the meat while it cooks it’ll add some nice flavor with a little onion
I have 3 little kids and ketchup is about as spicy as they’ll tolerate! 🤣🤣 plus, we like the blistered jalapeños!

What is that, like 3000 calories per serving??????
I didn’t even bother to count lol!
Did you put a second pie crust on top of the filling that’s what it looked like?
Thanks for the view and the comment! Yes - there are two pie crusts here. The first is in the bottom of the skillet, the second goes above the first half of the filling!
You think using walnuts would be just as tasty?
Thanks for the comment! I’ve never used walnuts before. My inclination would be to try it - they are a great nut to bake with, too! I primarily see them in apple-walnut cobblers. I wonder if they’d get bitter on their own?
@hunt_trap_fish I was thinking about an apple cobbler too but that pie you made looked like heaven and since I have a huge bag of walnuts, I thought about using them for this recipe. I'm going to try it anyway!
@@olgasepeda9158 do it and let me know how it turns out!
Did you season the meat prior to you sealing it in the bag? Is there a rule?
Yes! Just a bit of salt and black pepper. If you huck some rosemary or other aromatics - thyme, parsley etc. - in there that will flavor the meat too! Thanks so much for watching; I hope you enjoyed!
Have you ever seen your arm? Like what?
It’s a Creedence Clearwater Revival song called “have you ever seen the rain”! We FINALLY got some badly needed rain this morning here in WI and that song felt appropriate :-) no ifs, ands, or arms about it!
Starting to turkey hunt this year in Michigan!
