Victa Mighty Cut Battery Powered Mower
My review of (after two times using) the Victa "Mighty Cut" battery powered mower. I compared it to the Ozito battery mower that I have had for about 12 months. The Victa was $699. The Ozito is now $399... both purchased from Bunnings. The Victa is maybe 20 percent-ish more powerful but is a bit heavier and a bit noisier that the Ozito..The Victa seems a little more robust. The only thing that is disappointing so far is the run time on the Victa. I have a decent corner block. Depending on the grass length and how fast I push the Ozito can just about do the entire lawn..when thicker it does almost all and gets a 10 min charge to do the last patch. So I was hoping that the Victa would do th...

Conclusive proof and yet more evidence that painting a tin/metal roof CAN stop it from dripping condensation.

At last, a cheap fireproof solution. Thank you very much.
What paint did you use under metal sheets roofing,
waterproof paint paint it inside and outside
Didn't demo running? Looking underneath or if it runs on one battery?
Too much babble not enough get to the point
Crap
Not crap.. the painted area dripped far less condensation in the colder months.
I'm thinking of getting Victa Corvette 18" but there's hardly any content on it compared to the ego where everyone and his dog has one. Ego just looks too much like a plastic toy.
So weird people would argue this 🙄🙄 of course that stuff works. I used it before as well.
hey there, what paint did you use
Thanks man, trying to know more about Victa mighty power and your video is the best i could find. Do you know if Victa is worth the extra money compared to Ryobi 2x18V or 36V options? I have bufallo and ryobi doesn’t have enough power to cut in one go but it seems battery long laster on Ryobi.
Nice video! Thanks . You need P r o m o S M!
Does this also work on pre-painted aluminum roofs. Adding another layer of paint on the bottom?
Should try it out by applying it to a small area and then compare to rest of the surface, I'll do it tomorrow.
@@nic-o1341 any updates?
@@regularjoe9032 It did seem to work for first few days but it's back to square one.
You didn't say or show what kind of paint you used. Could you provide that info please?
There is anti condensation paint. Google will show what's near you.
@@LisaSoulLevelHealing thank you beautiful person 😊
it works underneath because it acts as an insulation barrier which prevents the temperature difference causing condensation on the interior of the panel / tin / roof - this product prevents it: ruclips.net/video/spNqb1RmWMI/видео.html
How's the bike holding up since the review, any major issues
What paint did you use pal?
AHHHHHH
Is paving paint the same as concrete paint?
Yes
Hi there. Was wondering if we could get an update to this. Is it still working? Did you end up painted the whole roof with it?
No more condensation drops however the roof dropped entirely
@@NoNopeAndNo wondering what you meant by the roof dropping? Did the weight of the paint cause it to drop. did it cave in?
@@BarbaraCooper357 hi Barbara, I was making a joke as there was no reply by video poster. I do not know the outcome. Wish I knew
@@BarbaraCooper357 hello. I have had the same problem with my tin roof. The condensation was really bad. I tried the painting method in this video but unfortunately it didn’t work. Not at all. It can get pretty cold here in sunny England. I bought a roll of laminate floor underlay and some carpet glue spray and stuck the underlay to the roof panels inside and it worked a treat. I’ve had no condensation ever since. One tip though, I had to ensure the underlay was completely and fully bonded so all of the metal was covered. Hope this helps 😃🇬🇧👍🏻
@@krisconroy285 Hi there! Thanks so much for the feedback. I didn't actually get around to trying the paint before winter weather hit us here in the very chilly Pacific Northwest and now I'm glad I didn't. I wondered about the difference in climate between here and downunder...which with your experience obviously was a valid concern. Don't know if I'll try your remedy though as It does not sound all that attractive??? But you saved me lots of time, effort and $$$ Thanks, again
Hey mate, any difference if we paint on top rather than underneath?
yes on top will not stop sweating must paint underneath
Thanks for your video. Did u use bitumen paint?
The paint that I used was a paving paint that I had left over..it may contain some small amount of rubber type additive with it being paving paint..but I dont really think that is the primary reason why it worked. I was telling a guy who does a lot of home reno work recently and he said that just coating the metal was probably enough for it to insulate it enough to not create the condensation. It may not work under all conditions but if you have this issue I would suggest trying a small area to see if it works... as it did for me. Cheers.
@@ascottaudio Thanks for your reply. Many You tubers do not bother. Happy New Year.
@@ascottaudio do you have the name of that pain?. i could try the same for my tin roof. well, start with small area and see how it goes.
@@anilvarghese9778 Im pretty sure it was Burger Jet Dry paving paint (An Australian brand I think)..but I think the only thing that a paving paint may have is a bit of rubber compound in it..so if you cant get the burger I would try another paving paint. Cheers.

How about your engine noise? I wasnt happy with mine but when I tried friend's Giant DirtE, I got completely frustrated. His bike sounds like silent hum of great car idling, while my sounds like that full throttle going bacwards noise. I dont hear any rattle, just loud engine process. 4 months old, I am reluctant to go to shop cause they will either declare it within tolerances, or would keep my bike for at least a week.
Bro, pedals are not included in the bicicle. They are whatever the shop throws in. Great review. Thanks so much. Enjoy the outdoors!:)
I didn't catch what's the range of that battery one charge? Can you do 50km, 70, 100?
Its 50ks but I think that's riding using full battery so you can squeeze a bit more out of it I think
Thank you for the honest review.
Pity they made the tyres so wide.
Cheers for this review, thinking of getting this bike for the summer, but I’m a bit worried by the geometry. I have a 29er now with 120mm forks and I’m about your size, and it’s great for me, but used to have a more stretched out bike that put a lot of pressure on my hands as I had to lean forward so far. Tried fitting risers and a shorter stem but nothing worked, hence why I changed it. So I want a bike that has a shorter cockpit and higher in the front so I sit up straighter, rather than bending over the bars. Do you think this will do it or should I go for a 29er with 120mm forks? Also do you think the XL is the right size for you? Or could you have got away with a size large?
ruined by your breathing, you should have waited.
Haha...I was wondering if anyone was ever going to pick up on that! As I am a musician/audio engineer and have super good hearing, I of course heard it immediately. I did wonder if I should do it again..but then also thought that the slight"out of breath" feel may also add a slight touch of "ive just come back from a 50 K ride realism..which just btw, was the case. Cheers.
@@ascottaudio Didn't mind the breathing for the record
How much range do you get on a full battery?
I believe the longest ride Ive done was 50-60Ks and it still had 1-2 bars left. So rather good I think. Cheers.
Awesome video!!
Hi, 6 months in....still happy with it?
Yes and after some time on my non Ebike I am even more in love with it!
Great little review, infact you made my mind up and I'm expecting delivery of one next week!!!!!
Great stuff..you wont be disappointed!
Love you're honest review looking at getting the same bike no b.s or crap loud music great job
Thank you very much.Cheers.
Thanks so much for the feed back. Cheers.
Why not purchase a speed dongle (delimiter) for some extra speed from the Yamaha motor. Makes a world of difference when you need it on the flats. Nice ride!
And voids your warrenty on a new bike!
I've got the same bike and spoke to the managing director of cycle world Portsmouth and he said any speed hacks like the magnet on the pedal makes the bike do over 90thousand k a month and someone else had it voided because of that reason
130 kilos...that's heavy going...
Yep...and after doing over 600Ks on the bike I put ON a kilo!...proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that exercise (alone) does jack...I then went on a more radical diet and have lost over 20ks so far.
Yes and I'm happy to say I've lost almost 20 since then. Cheers.
fukin awsome
Hi Scott. Loved the review. Now that the price has dropped below 3g, I am considering one of these. Any updates or issues now that you have had a bit more time with it?
Hi Baron. Ive had no issues at all with the bike. I sometimes think about redistricting the speed as at times it would be nice to get just a little more top speed assistance. And it can be tricky to get the gear selection right (on occasions))..if you are not in the right gear it can be easy to "bog down" I do find myself thinking that I wish the bike had a larger "power band"..but in general I still find it to be quite addictive and it gets me out doing long rides and getting good workouts..that I otherwise would not..and so it is defiantly helping me to get fitter, and to ride for longer and more often. Cheers.
@@ascottaudio Hi Scott. Giant should pay you a commission! Based on your review, and lots of reading, I bought one. So far so good and you were right about the pedals. Not only were they way small, they also felt like they have crappy bearings. I changed mine out straight away. Derestricting would be good but I am not going to lose sleep over it or fork out $300 for a dongle. It is probably just a software hack as they sell them as class 3 bikes in some markets. I do have a rattle around the stem that might be the battery or a loose cable. I will take it for a ride without the battery and see if the noise goes away. Apart from that, it's a great bike and I'm loving it.
Rattle turned out to be the cables inside the frame. Apparently, not uncommon with internally routed cables.
Hi nice review, did this come with a 500 watt battery ?
These come with a 400.
This one has the 400 but I have found it more than antiquate so far. Cheers.
Nice bike and nice review!
Nice review! I have the Fathom E+ 2 in Canada. Loving it so far. Have had it since Aug 1/2018 with zero issues. Only derailleur adjustments required so far. Awesome machine. Next time maybe dual suspension, but this bike is great.
Hey Dave, I saw your posts on the emtb forums. I'm thinking of purchasing an E+ 2 as well! I'm kind of torn between it and getting last year's Specialized Turbo Levo FSR Fattie. It's a full suspension with 3" tires, compared to the E+ 2's hardtail and 2.6" tires. I live on a First Nation reserve in Ontario with tons of elevation changes, and mostly riding on shoulders (medium to hard packed). Should I spend the extra money on a full suspension or do you think the E+ 2 would be fine? I do have a suspension seatpost that I can transfer over from an older bike to help mitigate the roughness of the hardtail.
@@nickpurdy I bet a hard tail with suspension post would be good, but it's really kind of subjective. Not sure if I bought a new bike if I'd go full sus or not. Fathom has been awesome.
I’m looking at the E3+. Canuck too! 🇨🇦
I have got one a few weeks ago and I am very pleased with it, download the Giant E bike app to your phone. This is an excellent app which tracks your rides distance ,average speed, time, watts, cadence, elevation gain also let's you adjust the motors out put in each of the five power settings and estimates range left in each of the power settings.
Thanks for the review! I only have ridden Haibikes so far but I am thinking buying this bike. I noticed there is no LCD screen, am I correct?
Yes you are correct. Many of the new ebikes are now starting to replace the on-board screen with an app that works in conjunction with your phone. The "ridecontrol" app is used for the 2019 Giant Fathom. The important stuff can still be seen on the controller as LED's (assist and charge level) . I guess some may like to see a screen in front on them, but I really like the app and I think that perhaps less is more in this case. The app hooked up to the bike straight away (via blue tooth)...with the app you are able to: Track your ride, change the power settings within each level of assist, see exact battery level used, cadence, and calories burned and the like..Pretty cool hey...You can however still just ride without the app/phone if you like. The other interesting thing in this regard, is that 3rd party apps are already beginning to come on the market. www.giant-bicycles.com/global/news/ridecontrol-app-functionalities/23190
Scott Barclay wauw! After watching your video and leaving a message I couldnt sleep anymore 😂👌 So I looked it up and now I get it. And yes for me it would be a (tech and functional) progress. No more broken or stolen displays, leds are definetely enough during a ride. Looking forward to see more uploads of your fathom. Enjoy and love your ride. And I, oh I just need to decide between this one and his bigger brother. End of the Haibikes 👌
@@cochinfarmbanana8774 I was also thinking about getting the next model up (I think its call the fathom E Power) but they are not available here (Australia). www.giant-bicycles.com/at/fathom-eplus-3-power-2019
Thanks for taking the time to review. I'm currently considering this bike or the next model up. Cheers.
Thanks for your review. I currently have a Fathom E Pro on loan and am very impressed with it so far. I am seriously considering buying one. Since you have had yours have you come across any serious down sides or problems?
I have only had it for a few days and apart form those couple of minor ergonomic cripes it seems all good. It has been re-charged a couple of times now and I have also downloaded and connected the bike to the "ride control" app. The app works great. It tracks rides and gives stats. The app also gives you the option to "tune" (you can increase or decrease the power for each power level setting) . I haven't felt the need to do this as yet but it is a great feature. One very small thing I realized is that the remaining charge indicators show 5 levels.. I think it would make more sense for it to be an even number ( so that you know the approximate half way point ..and can turn around to come back)..but you can just check the remaining charge on the app..just means stopping to check at times. At this point riding the Fathom is totally addictive!
No issues at all to date.
